    Thanks for the comment! Its really hard to talk pricing. Discounts can be all over the place based on negotiations. Really the only thing you can say is that the 9300 will cost the most and the 1000 will be the lowest cost. Sometimes it also depends on how the switches are configured. There could be some situations where the 9200 comes out higher then a 9300L.

    Hi Sal, Great video comparison. I'm very new in cisco, and now I'm on designing a network for my company. My question is, If I have several IP cameras, which has 10/100 mbps eth port on it, Then I connect to cisco switch C9300L-48T-4X-A to communicate with Video management server (has 1Gig eth port) on the same switch, will it be happen? I mean, is it possible that my IP camera can communicate with my video management server?

  • @CiscoSal

    @CiscoSal

    Hold tight 😁. I’m working on a video for Meraki Go. That would be more comparable to what ubiquity has. The 1000 is still a enterprise class switch. Meraki Go and Cisco Small Business switches are made for the smb marketplace that ubiquity is in. You can also get meraki go on amazon. amzn.to/3FqHWXY

    Are there any second thoughts or limitiations that are usefull to mention on use two C9300-24UX with network advantage (and DNA license) as an L3 distribution/core swich along other 9300-48P-E (L2 network essentials) as access switces? so basically what is preventing me to save money by not bying the C9500 family as core/distribution?

  • @CiscoSal

    @CiscoSal

    3 жыл бұрын

    You could... Just depends on what you need for ports and speed. The 24UX is going to have all copper ports on it. So if you need 10gig to your access layer switch you will need to use a uplink module. Thats going to be really limited on the number of ports you have. But if it works for you go for it!

  • @1999Zahra

    @1999Zahra

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@CiscoSal Hi Sal, Thanks for the answer.... So 3 points: 1) Indeed 10Gbit uplink speed from access to core/distr. would suffice. So If I put an uplink module (C9300-NM-8X) 8 x10 Gb SFP+ ports in the access switch, I can go ahead and use a copper DAC SFP+ cable to connect the C9300-48T-E access swicthes (essentials) to the C9300-24UX-A core/distribution one (cisco Adavantage L3)? ...And... I can you the stackpower cables to hook them all up together forthat extra power redundancy? Nice proposition? 2) I can not imagine in which use case the difference of a 640Gbs (C9300) VS a 6,4 Tbs (c9500) backplane would come in to play. Would we notice...? Apart from the available ports issue and the backplain speed, I cannot think of other things that are worth mentionning about the difference of the C9500 en C9300 family. I hope somebody can point me out when I am missing something really really important here. (oh yeah--> C9500 has no stackpower???) 3) So last and to be clear: I know that ofcourse, the day that I need more that 10Gbs speed to my access swicthes OR multiple 25Gb or 40Gb connections to my servers, I am in for a difficult ride. altough I can change the uplink modules on the C9300-24UX and/ or the C9300-48T and/or I can use Brakeoutcables (QSFP+ to 4x SFP+) to try to maximize in the possibilities.... But ok, choices have to be made within budgets. "You win some, you might loose some" :-) Thanks in advance

    If you have a Modular uplink (expansion card for C9300 series) of 10G, can a 1G network module work? It will just give a speed of 1G? But if you have a Modular uplink of 1G, and you use a 10G sfp network module, you will not get that 10G speed?

    Hey Sal - Jay here. I am an engineer, about to be working more in Cisco than all else. I couldn’t help but notice “Pittsford Cisco” in the background. I am just south of the Thruway in H…etta. I don’t want to put our locations out there, but wondering if you are from same area and figure you would connect the dots with my comment above if thats the case? • @CiscoSal

    @CiscoSal

    2 жыл бұрын

    You buy a switch with the license on it already. If cisco only had one switch with every feature, people would say, why do i need to pay for all this stuff when I’m not going to use it. So with different license levels Cisco can sell the hardware cheaper for people that dont need all the features. Or for the people that do need everything they buy the higher license level. This way no one can say I don’t want to buy stuff I don’t need.
