True! I wanna warn you though, there have been incidents where someone flipped someone off in traffic & got shot for it. In fact, there was a man driving on the highway in some state & some other driver cut him off & flipped him off. He responded by flipping them off & the other driver began shooting at him. He didn’t get hit but his 5 year old son in the back seat sure did. He died too. So just be careful out there my friend it isn’t worth it just to give someone the finger. Believe me, I understand the urge to though

I think if more police strive to be an example to themselves and citizens I think less people would hate them and give them the finger, and she'd probably hate the world a little less. Yes it's a hard job, and it's even harder to be in the spotlight all the time, but that's the job she signed up for. If she can't handle it, she should either walk away or be taken away.

If random or despicable acts can make an officers lose control, then one could only imagine how they will act under extremely stressful situations.

That language and behavior should be grounds for immediate termination. You can't hate a group of people that you're supposed to 'protect and serve'. The fact that she hasn't been terminated is why people don't trust cops.

It wasn't one kid, just as the story & video depicts. And it's much safer to use one's mouth to blow off steam in a moment of frustration than to use one's vehicle. Internalizing rage with no outlet, or externalizing the rage with one's vehicle, are both far worse than momentary bad language.

If you're reaching to the point of using the worst racial slurs, you should momentarily take a break and seek professional help. Only escalations come out from angry racial slurs. There are proper outlets to maintain everyday rage from spilling to that point: martial art classes, anger management exercises, etc. But if you can't handle the stress from the job without escalating and "using one's mouth," then it's time to look at another job where you cannot "use one's vehicle" when in rage and neither a gun as well.

There is a psych exam and a polygraph exam, they also interview your former employers, family members, relatives, and friends for examples of your character. That's just the tip of the iceberg as well. But I also live in a different state that has different training and laws than the officer in the video.

This is a deep subject. I hope that most people that join a police force have little bias, but that's hard to quantify. On the other hand, many police departments have been put under consent decrees for targeting minorities. There must be some training or procedures that caused that targeting and it probably imparted some bias to its officers.

My understanding was that she was angry due to the parents flagrantly breaking the law and then also failing to respond to her use of patrol vehicle lights.

On one hand, nobody was hurt by this incident - in the moment. On the other, if she had been working a regular job she would have already been fired. For most of us, saying racist things while on the clock means termination. Also, she caused a lot of harm to her police department. Everyone is now questioning her integrity and the departments integrity. She also caused a fine. Shouldn't she be fired then? She probably won't. Why does this cop get a pass? Is it police union? Also, it's concerning that this cop has a racist bias. During a high stress situation shes is going to fall back on her racist attitudes. She isn't fit to be an officer. Unfortunately, many cops probably are just as racist.

Seriously! Aside from the racial slurs, her rant sounded a lot like me when I'm driving lol But I'm only doing the yelling and swearing and death-wishing because I know that if/once I have to interact with a person face-to-face, I'm going to be the friendly, cheerful little helper I'm trained to be. Sometimes you just gotta let off steam. I'm glad she at least rolled up her windows first so that her rant was contained.

He was always strutting around, kicking people's trash bins over, waiting for someone to look at him the wrong way so he could start screaming at them. He would threaten to shoot people in the apartment building we live in for no reason. Even freaking children. The dude was the same as this lady in the video, had serious anger management issues. He was reported many times, even got arrested by his own buddies in the force, but he never got fired. Unbelievable, but it happens.

If it was a civilian who pushed and punched someone(keep in mind it was her own family + it was physical)then proceed to hit vehicles with an umbrella they would have gotten a worse charge. Disorderly conduct means nothing on her criminal record which means she could continue working as an officer, which she did after her arrest.

She doesn’t need to be a police officer at all! “I hate this world!” She needs to go seek some serious therapy.

I have found working with animals was my happy place although I do have to interact with their owners most are not hard to deal with. Of course it is my no means stress free but far less than working with people all day and I am my own boss.
