Wonderful video of my neighborhood and my own house as well. The music was a great touch as well...It has changed up here in the past 25 years I have been here from building my home to present day. Thanks again for taking the time to assemble the collage of images of what once was Sharon's home. David O. #TheOmanHouse

WOW! Thanks for watching Mr. Oman. All the times that I have gone up Cielo Drive I always walked from Benedict Canyon. Walking by your nice house sometimes I hoped I would run into you to say hi but never did! Yesterday I watched Scott Michaels video at your house on recent visit! It was great and lots of humor, background info. and of course all the serious things that go on in your house! I am glad you liked the video!!!! I have 3 Sharon Tate Videos and if you watch just one maybe Sharon Tate 2. Thanks again!

The original house looked so pretty and picturesque in it’s surroundings - the farmhouse/cottage style gave it a cosy and peaceful quality despite its sad history, what on earth were they thinking when they built that fugly monstrosity on there ? - it looks like something I built with Lego aged 9, it sticks out like a sore thumb and ruins the view

Thank you for this video. It's fascinating to see how it's changed over time. When the original home was built, that long, winding driveway that branches off Cielo and snakes back up the mountain led to just the one house at the end of the drive - 10050 Cielo. Over the years, owners of 10050 sold off parts of the hillside where about 7 houses now stand. Imagine how isolated 10050 felt before those homes were built...

Thanks for the comments!!! You are so right about the long driveway. I always parked down in the Benedict Canyon Drive area and then walked all the way up to the gate!! It always gave me a good perspective ! During the 1980s in my 20s I just did not appreciate it as much! Glad I took the photos though!

Looks like a gaudy Mosque. Plus extremely top heavy for the piece of property. Just goes to show you that old saying continues to run true “Money can’t buy taste”. But then again there’s a lot of this in L.A. especially the Hills.

So you were here when you were next door to Richard Anderson's house at 10120 Cielo Dr. who was my neighbor before he died and he was up here during the murders as he had told me years ago about the day of the discovery. I know the 2 houses that sit on that property today. That is too wild. Thanks David

The first original house and property had a special charm to it that the new giant mansion could never have. I wish they had just left the original house and property alone but Sharon Tate had not really lived there very long and and only lived there for about 6 months but she was out of the country overseas making a movie for about 2 or 3 months so she spent very little time at Cielo Dr.

Ken: You are so right that house and property had so much charm and history from the early days until it was unfortunately torn down! December 24 ,1993 the owner let me on property to take one photo of the house being torn down, and to show me the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean beyond Santa Monica! All we can do now is remember all the victims and document the history of the house on Cielo Drive! Ken welcome to the channel!

I once saw the original place in person. It was perfectly lovely and suited the landscape like a glove. This mess that has replaced it is typical of many of the high-end Los Angeles areas. Too much money and absolutely no taste. After the tragedy that occurred up there, I can understand why the old place had to go, but to replace it with this pretentious eyesore is an insult to the land it sits on. It's a reflection of a city in decline...

I saw the Michelle Morgan/Rudy Altobelli house in the 1980s. It was in great shape and well tended. There is a similar house to the original “Tate” house down in the canyon, and you can see how beautiful the original house was. It really was a historical loss that Sharon’s beautiful home was replaced by such a vulgar monstrosity. I can’t believe it was even allowed. I think it’s been up for sale for the past few years, but who would want it? It’s a tasteless nightmare. It should be torn down and replaced with a replica of the original home.

I almost could have at least tolerated the new place if it looked like the first few photos you have, but then they just kept going to make it a monstrosity. Interestingly, they took it off market a week or so ago. Does anyone know if they disposed of the original house covertly, like they recently did with the Moscow, Idaho house?
