Being a first time parent with my new wife is a total challenge (our daughter will be 3 in a few months). This set is so good. Christopher Titus is a top three or higher comic alive. All of his specials are this good. He moves through his material at a very quick pace without sacrificing annunciation, this gives repeat views merit because you can't catch everything live. Plus the material is awesome so he doesn't need to fall into a cadence pattern to cue the audience when to laugh. This is balls out funny. Unlike Special Unit, which was difficult to watch.

Comedy does great things for us. Titus isn't my favorite cup of tea-- he's crass, he's juvenile, he's abrasive, he's often egocentric-- but he's experienced and smart, speaking to us about how things are, of how individuality survives amid the forces it interacts with. I think comedy of whatever ilk has a great capacity for naming things for what they are, and in this naming, things become less fearful, less formidable, less violent, less depressing. Conservative comedy is especially good at this. Discarding lenses and biases, it cuts through the dross, the excuses, the reasons and places acceptance at the fore. In this acceptance, in finally knowing what things are, we have the choice to remain steadfast and the inspiration to change what is. Titus, Tim Allen, Hicks, Foxworthy, Bill Burr, C.K., Macdonald, Shlesinger, White, Dunham, et all do something special for us: they turn bitterness, frustrations and anger into the ridiculous, making our worst impulses the least of us, humiliatingly natural and humble, just the basis from which we start, that it and the best in us can finally be justified in meaning and sanity can finally find the light. Sorry; that's a little deep. But it's what I see in comedy, what I appreciate: how it centers us, how it gives voice to what many of us are thinking and feeling, and in doing so, makes things less dangerous, easier to cope with.

Mr Titus, I have watched lots of your work and I think you might one of the most underrated comedians I've ever seen. You are up there with the best like Bill Burr who has also continued to consistently do great work and not get the acknowledgement that is deserved. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you live if you ever play in Adelaide, which you should.

@@paulvamos7319 Absolutely, Robin. Robin was masterful of the intense and make humor of it all. We all miss him every time. I just watched Mrs. Doubtfire last week and what a loss of comedic genius. My wife and I had tickets for another great act "John Pinette". John made fun of his clear obesity problem. Unfortunately he passed before we got to see him Goodbye Mr. Pinette. My family still quotes his lack-o-fame and self depraving humor. If we can't laugh at ourselves... Who can we laugh at? or...so they say. John and Robin where masters at laughing at their own flaws. Robin films always teetered on humor but also had a very dark side too. Isn't that really well developed humor??? Make fun of what is maybe too close to home. e.g. Patch Adams, Dead Poets..., Garp, Moscow..., Good Morning Viet Nam, Good Will Hunting, even Doubtfire. Anyone can go on IMDB and check out his resume, so no debate. Robin was one of the greatest of this era. All really serious subjects and Robin made light of it all. He was genius! Thank you, Paul for acknowledging the very great Robin Williams! My point was Robin was not really as bitter as the others I listed nor was John Pinette. They were more light hearted and positive. Long live these comedic greats in our hearts and memories.

@@gungagalunga7761 Is John Pinette the one with the show titled "Sorry for what I said because i was hungry? If so, I loved his show! Sadly, can't afford any travel or tickets. My favorite movie of Robin's was Bicentennial Man. My favorite comedian, Tied between Jim Carey and Jackie Chan! Favorite movies, The Mask, Cable Guy, Tuxedo and Mr. Nice Guy. I had the great honor to see the late great Bob Hope at the USO in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 78 when my grandpa took me. I was 7 years old. Have a great night, I wish we could trade memories but, sadly, or maybe not, the technology is not there yet. We might not be ready as a species, for the responsibility to not abuse that!

Thank you for posting this special, I needed a good laugh. Just so you know my mother decided to pass away on the worst possible week for me, she always had timing like this by the way and so it is humorous to me now (stressful then), but she passed away this past December the weekend before I had to go to court to fight horrible landlords that would not fix a leak that then caused black mold which happened to be the same week that I had jury duty as well as we were looking for a new rental home to move into at the time. I could not reschedule jury duty, or not show up, because I had already missed it once and this was the one allowed reschedule. So, I had to show up to jury duty on Monday when I had just lost my mom on Saturday, they dismissed my jury duty for a year even though I offered to come back in a month or two, had court on that Wednesday, and as soon as court was over we drove 19 hours in a minivan with 4 kids, a crazy aunt, my husband, and myself back home for the funeral. Now the drive without stops is 15 hours, with kids and fuel stops we figured on 16 hours which would have been fine except that it decided to snow for the first time in 2 months that particular day. Colorado had gotten an early snow in October and then nothing until the day we drive there in mid-December. Yep felt like my mom got the last laugh again! Great timing that parents have sometimes! Oh and she passed 2 weeks before my oldest son's birthday which was ironic since her mom passed away 2 weeks before my birthday (which was 27 years ago but still strange coincidence) and that trip was slowed down by a truck that broke down. I have already been told by my son that I am not allowed to die 2 weeks before his kid's birthday (and he doesn't even have kids yet!) Lol This was amazing and I enjoyed a great laugh that has helped my funk about my mom's passing, regardless if the story about your dad's passing is true or a joke it made me laugh and then made me laugh about my mom's great timing.
