When you're chasing that dream and you have to "sell out" time to time? Every single "great" in history did. You need to eat. That included Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Mozart, Beethoven, and Twain. The question of "What will people say about you in fifty years?" can be answered with "Living their dreams" as long as you continue your dream and invest in the creativity you want to. If you just cash the check and give up what you want to do, that's the only sell-out move.

As my dad once told me (he's a very creative and artistic man): "There's a lot of starving artists in this world. I want to have a family with a roof over their head, food on the table, and to not worry about keeping the lights on. If that means I work my job to the best of my ability and only paint on the weekends for a home project, that's great. I still get my dream."

really enjoyed this sitcom at the beginning of high school, ... it felt there was a bunch of good sitcoms that pushed the envelopeat the time Norm, Titus, Grounded For Life , Greg The Bunny , then post 9-11 everything got all politically correct. i think this was the real golden age of sitcoms

I grew up with this show and I've always loved this episode. I've been in situations where people took my dream and tried to alter it to fit their visions. I can relate to Titus when the geek said "you know what would make this really cool?". I've heard that before and it's pretty hurtful to think about. I'm on Titus's side when it came to putting a wing atop the roof of the coupe. The car is beautiful on it's own, the wing is like a bruise on a beautiful person's face lol

Wow Erin's hair grew back quick from episode 4 lol I'm actually pleased I'd never heard of Chris or this show before (in a good way) because now I've got something to lift my spirits during covid thank you so much💜

I spent last night watching all of these. I can't thank you enough for taking me out of the current situation and giving me something to laugh about.

It wasn't so much that he sold out the show it was the fact that the network president had no clue that he had already done an episode where him and his girlfriend break up and that's what the network president wanted because another show had already done it. Titus did an interview with Jim Norton and Sam Roberts a while back and he explains more about it

I remember when I got into law enforcement, and they told us your integrity would be challenged daily. I had no idea how right they were. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I was asked to do something sketchy or downright illegal, and sadly I knew officers who did, but I had to be able to look myself in the mirror and my wife and son in the eyes. I remember what a couple people told me, "No one has to know" and my response was always the same, "But I'll know, and I can't live with that." Integrity is being able to do what's right when no one is watching.

This was a good moral quandary of commercial art with an excellent resolution in my opinion. Does one hold on to their principles of vision vs. delivering what the customer wants in a product that is not entirely just that of artistic integrity. I was pretty sure the Internet millionaire (I miss that being a thing these days, as how I got a ride out of Brice Canyon National Park was by my girlfriend at the time getting us a ride from one) was going to see the final product and agree with the Titus High Performance that the roadster looked horrible with the wing. Instead, the show made it the main cast's dilemma on what to do. Which I really appreciate as someone that did a bit of commercial art myself, sometimes tied up with doing what the client wants vs. want I though worked best.

Best television show ever.

This episode, while hilarious also speaks a lot about the world of commercial artists and entrepreneurs. Sometimes the people writing the checks are gonna have requests that are gonna clash with your integrity and vision. What you do from there is your call on whether you wanna make ends meet or not.

I once saw a F-150 with a wing on the roof. That was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Second stupidest was another pickup with a spoiler on the tailgate.
