So I had never heard of the Yule Goat and how it has burned down. I did some googling and read about it and am hoping it will last the season this year!! I love your decorations!!!

It's interesting to see the integration of pagan and Christian traditions surrounding Christmas in Scandinavia. Yule, Yule goats, tomte etc.

Hi guys just sitting here in my log home enjoying your holiday decorating. It is so precious, warm, and cozy but was so excited to see your Scandinavian Gnomes. I am retired and I have my own crafting business. I love creating Gnomes and giving them to friends and family members. I also love making fairy dolls, embellished cards, wedding, holiday and all occasions. You both have a flair for making things beautiful believe it is a gift! Merry Christmas my wonderful friends. 🎅🏼❤️🎄☃️❤️🪵😽🐶🦴❤️

I do not have my crafting business on line because I am the sole crafter and I am so busy with orders from clients through word of mouth and others who order my wedding cards and all occasion cards when they want a very special card for their occasion. I would love to send you pictures of my work but not sure where to send. Please do not feel you have to order anything I just like to make people happy with showing them the work I do. I started crafting ten years ago when I retired. I am now 75 years old and a caregiver to my husband who was diagnosed with stage four Alzheimer’s Dementia. Stay warm and safe! ❤️❤️🇺🇸

What a sweet vid! Loved the chill, comfy vibes and seeing you guys decorate for the season. Those gnomes are the cutest things! And your wreath making skills are phenomenal - I've always wanted to make one outta the pine plantations near my lil island but never know where to start haha😅

In the old days people used to put hay on the floor after they had cleaned for Christmas. So perhaps that’s why we have so many decoration made out of straw. Every farm had their own tomte, a little grumpy man who cared for the animals and if you were a bad farmer he could get very angry. You were supposed to give him porridge with some butter on top on Christmas eve. I think your tomte is very content with you two though.

Hi. It´s so nice and cosy to decorate for christmas. That was a nice Christmas wreath you made! Sweds usually put a red ribbon or red apples on/in it. You do know red is the christmas color. But why a plastik christmas tree when you live in the forrest?

  • @LowkeySwedishVlog

Just so you know, the burning down of the julbock is against the law and is punishable. It's not something that you should want to see... :P

I don't WANT to see it but there is something oddly intriguing about the chaotic folk tale of the julbock 😅 we're thinking of making our own this year (it will but burn though!!)

I have to say this video is actually pretty disappointing. You really should do more research before you do a video about a culture you're not too familiar with. The candelabras with six candles are not Advent candles, as they have four candles. You can Google symbolism of six candle candelabras in Sweden. The straw goats called Yulbocks replace the actual goats that the pagans used to actually sacrifice to the Gods. The Santas with no features are actually gnomes or Tomtens. Hopefully you have learned something something since the last holiday season about the culture you're living in
