What a difference between Christina at 16 and Christina today. She has really matured into a beautiful woman. I know her health is not the best but she still carries on. She will always be one of my favorites.

I saw an early movie of her in 1990 at a local movie theater in Jersey City NJ.

I love the fight and determination to win from her. Thank you for entertaining us all these years and your inspiration to others.

Isn’t it odd how so many actresses famous for their “dumb blonde” roles turn out to be so smart, talented and genuinely beautiful on the inside as they were on the outside. I’m thinking of Barbara Eden (Jeannie), Susanne Sommers, Goldie Hawn etc. I think many people misjudge how much talent it takes to play a “dumb” role and really pull it off.

She was absolutely gorgeous back then, and despite suffering so much and considering that she's having to take MS medications she's still very beautiful now... but really it's also her personality that just adds incredibly more to her as a whole.

Wow.. The old sweetie is over 50 years old now. She's actually pretty much a year older than my own younger sister. (I'm the same age as Brooke Shields myself.) The entire MWC run was a joy to watch all those years ago. Every character in it was absolutely fantastic.

Conan's give and take, how he interviews with the guests, etc .. is so good. I hope he realizes he is a master at this...and I really miss Conan Late Night.

@@durrrrl3435 most people dont know that smoking can cause ms and it definitely causes bst cancer, most likely if shed never smoked neither of her conditions woudve happened., she even continued smoking after the m-sectomy. The huskiness in her voice here is because of smoking. With all we know about it it's insane that anyone chooses to keep doing it.

Conan the best talk show . Actual humorous comedy and not political lecturing like the other talk show host.

Ive always was in love with her ever since Married with Children. She still is beautiful, smart and just a humble person. I hope nothing but the best for her.

I had a similar situation. Back in the Married with Children days my brother was friends with an MTV host named China. One night when we were at his house, the phone rang and I picked it up. The caller was a woman who was crying. She said “is China there. I need to talk to her”. I handed the phone to China and she went off into another room for about 20 minutes. When she came back I said “Who was that woman and why was she crying”. She said “That was Christina Applegate. She’s upset because her boyfriend just broke up with her”.

I was watching Christina being interviewed the other day, and sadly the difference a year has made is heartbreaking. Her illness has had a serious effect on her, but she is fighting so hard to stay positive, and she sometimes even jokes about her illness. Isn't it ironic the steps she took to avoid breast cancer only to be diagnosed with M.S. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪 Christina.

Her joke about Conan having a nice tan was great. She said so many funny things, and Conan didn't have a single normal reaction. Like, he could have let her run with the spices and rubber thing, or the freckles are sun-damage thing. But he repeatedly cut into her jokes to say something of his own and rush to the next topic. Like, vegetarian meat DOES taste like rubber and spices, and I want to know what else she has to say about her fake hotdogs, but Conan just pushed right through. If it were Norm or Bill, he would give them all the time they need to get the laughs. I get that she's lovely, and I would want to impress her too, but this interview had too much Conan. I wish he would have let her talk her shit.

I found him well-mannered with good questions compared to his normal approach, but I do agree he interrupted a lot, and you're probably right there's an element of either sexism or occupationism there. He does interrupt frequently, but I can't recall off the top of my head what the trends would be.

Further thought: with Norm and Bill, they're comedians who are used to filling conversation gaps and being comedians, so he knows they can hold their own. He's probably biased because he knows them more personally but is also probably more relaxed because they bring the funniness themselves. I'd wager he was in talk-show-host mode with Christina trying to make sure they got to the topics they were meant to, but he should be more attuned to the individual's skill at the time. She was clearly playing along. Secondly, with the usual guests, Conan would have a time limit and follow a dot-points list, with the interview slots almost certainly paid for by the marketing team behind the show Christina was in. Talk shows are glorified marketing entertainment. It's a testament to Conan that the convos appear so random and natural. I know following a guide/list happens on radio and I figure or heard it happens with talk show hosts (maybe depending on the host. It'd be brave to completely ignore that, especially at a prime time. Craig Ferguson is an example of someone who protests the format: he tears up the "cards" at the start of every interview and made it his schtick - but he's also at the late late night format). In this case, Conan was trying to get to Sweet Charity, which I'd completely forgotten about because I didn't know what it was and my focus was clearly on the other things haha. However, Conan listened more when he asked Sweet Charity questions. He may have even been clued in to the sex story as a bit, but even if that was improvised, he knew he had limited time and had to spend the majority of it on Sweet Charity in general. I have a strong hunch he'd be in trouble for not spending time on it. With Norm and Bill, they wouldn't have that as much because it'd be their own shows and are just killing time doing what they normally do. Regardless, Conan should be more considerate to his other guests and I do still suspect an element of sexism. He could have achieved all those things without interrupting and just waiting a couple extra seconds. It does add another layer if the interview organisation is part of it. To confirm this, someone should see his interviews with others of different occupation and identities and see if he interrupts more or less frequently with certain groups. He interrupts a lot with Jordan Schlansky for example, and usually it seems to be when he's adopting some kind of power role in a dynamic. I'd hypothesise he almost certainly interrupts more with women for a similar reason, sadly.

I think the University of Kansas has been working on something called textured protein where a protein like gluten or something is processed and has the texture of chicken meat . It can then be seasoned and cooked as a meat substitute but with the texture of chicken instead of the tofu texture. I hope Christina gets a breakthrough and that leads to more people being filled with hope that they can get a breakthrough too. I think one of the great gifts we as people can potentially give is hope, because hope is a refreshing well that sustains us through hardship.

People, this video was posted 8 days ago, but the interview was 18 years ago. She is not the same person she was in this interview. She has had medical issues that have changed her quite a bit from how she looks here. I'm not saying she isn't the same person mentally, but everyone is commenting how she is even more beautiful than when she first came on the scene.

I'll love her forever. Always have, always will. Immensely talented, funny, and drop dead gorgeous.

I can't see her without remembering her in "Anchorman", especially when she was whipping the tar out of Will Farrell with that tv antennae. She was great!

Young, pretty and vivacious. Cruel what time and circumstance have done to this woman.

This was from 2005. All the faux vegan meats have come a LONG way in the flavor department here in 2023, and this includes the vegan cheeses, as well. Any type of meat thing you can eat, you can now get it in plant form.
