Just want to point out what Celeste did in the Connecticut game when they played on 6/10. She was able to get around a screen, and when she did, she caused the Connecticut player to miss a shot. She just doesn't run but sprints toward the opposite court. She got a block. She got to the free throw line (I think she made one of those) and she also made a bucket. She had 3 pts and a block in that game and that is what Celeste was able to do in her measly 7 minutes that Sides gave her to play against Connecticut. I think Celeste would have been a great compliment to CC because they are both from the Big 10 and both are fast players and one is great on offense and the other is great on defense. Coach Sides and the whole Fever organization are a joke.

Celeste Taylor was the best defensive player on the team. It's insane they waived her. The coach is a bigLIAR.

No I thought CC was the best player offensively and defensively on this team. The coach is doing a good job not exposing CC on the defensive side of the ball. The GOAT was all defensive team as well as scoring champ.

Very unhappy about the Celeste Taylor decision, and that she never got anything but a few garbage minutes. Great defensive player; you nailed it Quita about the defensive intensity that cannot be taught. Celeste has it. But in a way I am glad she is free from the Fever cesspool. I hope another team takes her on, and she becomes a star. It is so frustrating to watch the Fever keep playing the coach's ex-Atlanta favourites and keep better players (like Celeste) on the bench. I was in mourning about this news and deeply appreciate you taking the time to talk it through. Off topic, but congrats on the Sky win the other night. Angel was a beast, maybe her best game ever. I think the future is bright for the Sky.

Indiana fever is a joke, this was intentional. They’re trying to make it AB team, they never gave Celeste a chance with CC because they knew she’d show up Wallace, Wheeler & Mitchell defensively. Also the fact she runs the floor , this is to pull away from Caitlin. Why keep Saxton , she’s averaged 1 point for 2 years, 3rd round pick, just bad business.!

Kate Martin was 18th pick. Fever picked Celeste and did nothing with her. Wallace is never going anywhere as sides brought her and Wheeler over from Atlanta. Also Caitlin could have played very well with Celeste as she's quick and runs down and can catch passes like Temi.

Your channel is great! I went to IA and I'm a huge Clark fan. I've just become a WNBA fan this year and I've already bought tickets to a regular season game and the all star game. I don't hate on Reese though. She's an amazing player. You give Clark credit where it's deserved and you just have a wealth of knowledge about the sport. I've already learned a lot from your channel, for example about how free agency works. Thank you for being amazing!

@@kennethsmith6367 I just don't think anything would have fundamentally changed in the Sky game if Taylor was on the court, but I do believe it could have been different with a 6'3 forward that can score. The Fever did not have an answer for Cardoso and Reese, and Sky's guards, other than Chennedy, didn't really produce much... Fever removes one of their guards that can score and puts Taylor in instead, all that would happen is the Fever would have scored less points with still no answer for the paint.

Big fan of Celeste since her time with Texas (before Duke). Hate she was cut. Hopefully she will be picked up by another team- preferably my Wings 😎

sides has no business being a coach. Her lack of knowledge of the basics of the game (especially defensively), plus her inability to make adjustments on the fly(or at halftime for that matter), and her incompetence at motivating players are the reasons the Fever are still struggling. Time for a change.

Sounds like a Caitlyn Clark stopper. Like we saw Raven Johnson demonstrated that Clark can be stifled.

@@go2hvn2008 As a senior, Berger averaged 16.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game and was named first-team All-Big Ten for a third straight season... Maybe getting rid of a guard that can score, to replace with a guard that wouldn't be able to score, when ultimately your focus should be on your Bigs, wouldn't have been the correct call... p.s I really don't know anything about Berger or Taylor, I'm just looking at the stats

Was so looking forward to Celeste Taylor and Caitlin Clark playing together. Celeste was the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year in our Big 10. Caitlin and Celeste supported each other through this tough rookie year. She should have been playing! No opportunity to show any of her skills. People were saying to put her in during games. Erica Wheeler is Coach Sides friend. Saxton is Boston's friend. But Celeste is the one out.

Christie Side's always looks like a disheveled mother chasing her 3-year-olds around the supermarket.

Katie Lou Samuelson at 6'4" is the real liability defensively.

What sometimes happen when teams get a big is that they get comfortable and end up slacking off. That’s what happened to the Fever in the Sky game. They moved a lot slower in offense and defense. The screens were amateurish.

The Fever runs the worst screens I've ever seen. They should be practicing those and layups until they collapse on the court.

I don't understand it , but yea I do. Taylor is a small guard. However a very good defensive player. With all the defensive accolades Acc to Big10. She never got to play and I believe is because Sides wanted to play her favorite girls , Mitchell and Wheeler. I thought she would have given Taylor some of Wallace mintues, but no not even that. Taylor probably glad she can move on to another team.

As for the situation with Celeste Taylor being waived, Iam completely up in arms about it. It just made me sick when I learned about this, Not to mention, it makes no sense whatsoever. I mean, the Fever Management just threw away a perfectly good draft pick for nothing- Absolutely Nothing! If they didn’t want Celeste or wasn’t planning to use Her , they could’ve Negotiated with other teams, and traded and did something different before the draft. Celeste Taylor is a fantastic player especially on defense but she can do alot of different things, and I’m really sad for her. And I agree with you I think Celeste will get picked up by a team very soon. There’s another player out there I really like Named Nika Mühl, Selected by The Storm 14th Pick Overall from UConn. Nika gets very little experience playing time, But then, again, she is surrounded by alot of talent on the Storm already ahead of her. Nika is a fantastic Defensive player, a Real Workhorse with Tireless Energy and She holds the all-time History UConn Assist Record previously held by Sue Bird. And Nika single-handedly shut down my Caitlyn Clark in the UConn-Iowa game. Nika carried UConn on her back when Paige Bueckers had that season ending injury, And neither can shoot well she steals often With great hands, even against bigger defenders, she also rebounds well, has great awareness and game vision. I know that in time Nika will get her Solid playing time for the Storm And show what she really can do. Anyway, this is not about Nika Mühl, So please forgive my ranting. I just wanted to add that in here about Nika to Pay it forward to Her. As for The Fever releasing Celeste I agree with you that some thing else has to be going on here with this decision, I’m wondering if Celeste didn’t mention her grievance of not playing and wanting to be traded, or something to that affect to the Management and coaching? Either way hopefully we will hear something coming out of the Fever camp and media soon about this whole issue and some answers. Lastly, I think you’re right, that Celeste would be a good fit in Chicago . Although I think there are 2 or 3 Strong Candidate Teams that Celeste could possibly be picked up by, A. Dallas Wings, B. Atlanta Dream or C. La Sparks

It seems like this team creates a problem then the players figure out a solution on their own and Sides creates another problem then she won't play all her options. It seems like we are dealing with one of these firefighters type that goes around starting fires. It's just crazy.

I understand wanting Dantas to help offensively but the Fever also need to step up on defense & getting stops is imperative when ur not a great team

I feel certain there’s more to this story than we know. Don’t forget, the W is a business. It is not uncommon for players to be cut and or moved.

What I don’t understand is the Indiana Fever is part of the Indiana Pacer organization. The Pacer look to be a team that is well run. Why aren’t there people with in the Pacer helping stop the Fever from doing dumb things. Good gosh the Fever have been bad for almost 10 years. Looks like they could use some help

I’ve been baffled as to why they haven’t played Celeste. I don’t know enough about Saxton to say whether she should have been let go instead. I watched Celeste against Iowa, I think Celeste would play well with Caitlin, and clearly the Fever need help with defense. SMH. Hopefully Celeste will land in a better situation for her. Dallas?Maybe the Storm will let Nika Muhl go and the Fever can pick her up. 🤞🏼

Like most things on this team... this move leaves me scratching my head. Coach Sides says on one hand (and we all know) how important defense is, but then she gets rid of a great defensive player? Another stupid move! How long are we gonna have to suffer with Christy Sides holding back the team?

Hooefully Chicago pick her up bc we need guard play and defense like yesterday

Can she play with Caitlin Clark or does she do better when the pace is slow? Okay, she’s good. Then why drop Celeste? More importantly, why didn’t she get any playing time?

Wings have to be licking their feathers especially with all of their injuries 😂!!!

Lin Dunn should’ve interjected herself more in this decision. There is absolutely no reason to hold on to Erica Wheeler over a younger elite defender such as Taylor.
