I like how he looks very shy and awkward after playing each piece, but very serious and genuinely shows enjoyment and love when he's into the play. What a cute side of Christian😂
I really like how he make it into a story instead of the competition feels. I don't feel like it's a competition anymore, it's more like a different purpose.

Apparently he didn’t expect himself to win and so was just enjoying it.
Wow. Thanks to TwoSet, I've discovered a new prodigy (the next LingLing, probably), gotten my confidence severely shattered, but gained some powerful insight on the musicality of young musicians and the violin. Thanks for sharing your love for music and violin, and congrats on your win!
What a prodigy! He plays like an adult maestro!

I, unfortunately, don't think he sounds anywhere near an adult maestro, especially with the Wieniawski. Very messy intonation and sloppy left-hand technique which led to many missed notes and a harsh scratchy sound. The piece is clearly too hard for him and he's playing it too fast so he sacrifices a lot of sound quality. I have no doubt he would be able to nail the piece given a few more years of development, but this is a perfect example of what I don't like about pushing young kids into international competitions so early. It's ruining young rising star musicians because they're being forced to play pieces they shouldn't yet and so compensate with unorthodox technique that bites back hard later in their career. The old traditional style of raising prodigies was better. Hilary Hahn was a perfect example. Nurtured by the old guard in Curtis from a young age, and mostly kept from the limelight and competition stage until she was already a near mature violinist. This ensured a proper development "in the womb" and good preparation.

@@ChiefHerzensCoach I won't waste much time arguing with your silly comment. I stated my opinion and I have every right to do so. I've played violin for 75% of my life and won several competitions. Christian is light years more talented than me, but he has problems in his playing that I think should be criticized for his improvement. Seem like he gets sick a lot - nosebleed performing Saint Saens, fever during Menuhin? Needs to take more time for the health. Slow down a bit. Slow and steady always wins the game. Look at Hahn, Chen. Both went to Curtis and graduated before really shooting off into the stars. Could they have joined the public spotlight much earlier? Yes. They were good enough. But that would've been detrimental to their development. Christian is obviously forced forward. He has the talent too. No 10 yr old kid gets that advanced without being forced forward. You don't know anything about children if you argue otherwise. End of story.
To play J S Bach as good as this, you have a great future. Bach is the ultimate test of musical intellect.
How delightful and accomplished! Best wishes for the future and congratulations to your parents and teacher. I don’t think there is room for jealousy here. You are yourself, fantastically. Thank you Christian.
Dvorak Romantic Pieces, Op 75! I can listen to this part again and again and again! So touching!
I love how improv is one of the rounds. Bringing improvisation back to classical music, one step at a time :D
amazing..I am speechless..the more I listen to him..the more I realize..He is a genius..so abundantly blesses ..amazing.
A great, gigantic talent in a small child!

Remarkable, truly remarkable... What is quite staggering is that such a youngster can ‘feel’ the music so intently and sensitively. Surely this comes with ‘experience of life’ but it seems I am wrong!

Great! Wonderful!
j'aime sa sonorité, et comme j'aime cette aria de Bach, tout est merveilleux. Il est des airs qui sont intemporels, et celui là en fait partie.

Nick, Helen York You are absolutely correct! Nothing wrong with his intonation and nothing wrong with his technique. But let’s see if he can make a piece to sound like “his own” by projecting his own feelings into the interpretation. For that you probably need some more life experience than that of a 10 yo boy. Will he reach the final? I say probably yes. Will he win the juniors? I say probably not. But it will be interesting to follow this guy in the years to come!
