Has anyone thought about turning this line into a legitimate form of public transportation. This could more or less replace the old Free Shuttle service that went around town, after the two extensions are finished it would be even better, because it would link CPIT up with the city and would provide a good way to get to the city, CPIT, high street and chashel mall. Perhaps buy a few second hand modern trams for the city. Sync them up with metro cards too. Reduce the price to something a little more reasonable than $10. You can keep the tour aspect of it, but perhaps only two tour trams each day. Also, because it would go down cashel street it would be close to the city bus exchange and would be a good way to travel around the city centre.

Raphael Franks Agreed...... My home town of Adelaide - Aust. extended their lines heaps and it's a winner....

They actually had a full tram system in Christchurch until it was closed in 1954.
