Dr. Peterson, I was a pretty decent student till last year and academics were the primary meaning in my life. After covid-19 though, that all came apart because I just could not focus on studies in an online platform. I also felt extremely lonely sometimes as I couldn't be with any of my friends. I built a destructive tendency and voluntarily gave up on studying, I took classes and everything but my mind was never in it. It is also very easy to be distracted while taking classes over the internet. Overall I was in a bad place and I was very irritable and moody and sad. I was full of self pity and anxiety and extremely resentful but I discovered you and started watching your lectures and man, it has made so much difference. You have motivated me and helped me out of the worst time in my life so far, THANK YOU. Wishing you good health.

As far as this specific tactic it sounds to me that you want to tactically remove surprise from the situation as soon as possible; since surprise is the emotional amplifier. The last thing you need is a negative emotional response amplified by surprise when you are seeking a reasonable resolution.

I once did a two-session job interview with a boss that reviewed my references negatively. After the first interview I decided not to take the job, but my mother convinced me to go to the second interview. At the outset of the interview the man asked me if I’d thought over anything from the previous session, and I said point-blank that I felt very strongly I wouldn’t be a good fit for his team. The instant I said that, he gave me the job. I have no idea how to explain this. It’s like, either seeing things exclusively from his perspective or expressing a lack of self-confidence. Either way, I worked a few days and decided not to continue with the company. Food for thought.

Looking really good man. 2021 is the year of epic. This time, when I walk the world where those have failed before. This time, when I close my eyes I'm so unsure. I cry my tears, and see no longer through the coloured light. This time, the mistake I made I can't describe. I believe, there are remedies we cant conceive. I believe, that all our problems now we will be with. I believe, we are ascended from a galaxy. I believe, I belieeeve!!!

I think Dr.Peterson's selection to topic is great sense to this topic. It is to invoke ideas by watching people's opinions, of course, it is contribution if maintained supporting feeling. BUT unnecessity situation, otherwise opinions I can understand too. In practice, suffocated experience and systemic oppression I have been experienced, there is the limit other people can help out. So, this kind of topic is best effort other people can do for the man/woman. I admire Dr.Peterson this way.
