Not one Trump joke ...I miss those days ...don't watch Oscars or any other award shows or any late night shows anymore (same lame jokes over and over again)... To answer the Chris Rock question ...very simple generate box office receipts and you get "paid" and possibly nominated for an award ...Why don't the women who play in the WNBA make as much as the men who play in the NBA? Why don't they get movie deals? or huge multi-million dollar advertising contracts?

I mean, if it involves you, would you agree? Hollywood it's as cliquey as Comedy. You don't step on people's toes and given its capitalism, they can use their filmmaking means of production as they please. They also aren't forced to ve inclusive in their vision. They can have a vision for 10 years and as long as 1 year is inclusive ti not seem racist, in a racial typecast, they're not seen ads racist. They said Kevin was being greedy when the nature of Hollywood is to MAKE MONEY. It's a sorority. A money making sorority with its clique of favorites.

To answer the Chris Rock question ...very simple generate box office receipts and you get "paid" and possibly nominated for an award ...Why don't the women who play in the WNBA make as much as the men who play in the NBA? Why don't they get movie deals? or huge multi-million dollar advertising contracts?

@@mrit4099 This was before the elections, and the Oscars controversy provided enough material for this monologue. As for your answer, the Oscars have never been dependent on box office results. It's very well-known that flops are often nominated over actual hits. Even so, it ain't that simple to generate box office receipts when you're not given the opportunity to begin with. Take the most dominant genre in cinema today: superhero movies. It's not a level playing field when you're required to cast a white actor for iconic characters like Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Wolverine, etc... In terms of male leads alone; Blade, Hancock, & Black Panther are each a decade apart. Hell, Shang-Chi has yet to hit theaters.

Damn... That was bloody brilliant!!! Chris executed this opening speech so well, even while talking about difficult topics. He kept a level head and presented a perspective that many of us have never seen. Wow, I'm just blown away. If only everyone could be so frank when talking about controversial subjects. I commend his effort, and I strongly believe change is coming. Let's all hope this was a revolutionary moment for many folks in hollywood, and maybe we will actually see some black nominees in the coming years. The academy couldn't have done a better job if they wrote the script themselves, Chris was definitely the right man for this. Thank you for being so bold, humorous and honest, while shedding light on some much needed areas of hollywood😁🙌

The chimpanzee and another ape, the bonobo, are humans' closest living relatives. These three species look alike in many ways, both in body and behavior. But for a clear understanding of how closely they are related, scientists compare their DNA, an essential molecule that's the instruction manual for building each species. Humans and chimps share a surprising 98.8 percent of their DNA. www.amnh.org/exhibitions/permanent-exhibitions/human-origins-and-cultural-halls/anne-and-bernard-spitzer-hall-of-human-origins/understanding-our-past/dna-comparing-humans-and-chimps/
