Chris Rock on Adam Sandler | 2023 Mark Twain Prize

www.kennedy-center.org/whats-...
The Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize, which is named to honor one of the world’s greatest humorists, was awarded to Adam Sandler at a gala performance featuring some of the biggest names in comedy -- including Chris Rock, Conan O'Brien, Ben Stiller, Dana Carvey, Pete Davidson, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Anniston, Idina Menzel, David Spade, and more -- on March 19, 2023, and aired nationally on CNN on March 26, 2023.
The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor recognizes individuals who have had an impact on American society in ways similar to the distinguished 19th-century novelist and essayist Samuel Clemens, best known as Mark Twain. As a social commentator, satirist, and creator of characters, Clemens was a fearless observer of society, who startled many while delighting and informing many more with his uncompromising perspective on social injustice and personal folly.
“Adam Sandler has entertained audiences for over three decades with his films, music, and his tenure as a fan favorite cast member on SNL,” said Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter about this year’s recipient. “Adam has created characters that have made us laugh, cry, and cry from laughing. I am looking forward to a laughter-filled evening like no other as we celebrate his career at a ceremony that is sure to bring together the best in comedy.”

Adam Driver for Marriage Story, Antonio Banderas for Pain and Glory, Taron Egerton for Rocketman, Leonardo DiCaprio for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes, Christian Bale for Ford v Ferrari, Eddie Murphy for Dolemite Is My Name. And how about the one that won? Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. You're trying to say Sandler's performance was better? No.

Well, part of it was praising Jews, I think Chris Rock spent some time hanging aroudn with antisemitic friend kanye that wants to see jewish children hurt, and that Jews own/control the media, and Chris came up with a plan to just praise Jews (moreso than praising Adam), in the hope to get higher up. Chris knew that his demographic(blacks), have a reputation for antisemitism, heck, kanye is even his friend. And he thought it'd be funny to say the opposite and praise Jews. There was a lot of focus on Jews rather than on Adam himself. Any time he did praise Adam it was usually turned to praising Jews. Kind of a calculatiing going on there.

He made it partly about praising Jews probably because he sees them as having power in hollywood, and he thought he was being smart(maybe he was). You don't "undo" what Kanye did by doing a standup routine about how great you think Jews are. You give your honest views about it. Rather than hanging out with the guy. And when Chris Rock is seen hanging out with him it's all the more important for him to give his honest views on it. Trump was condemned for having dinner with Kanye and Fuentes. But Will's behavior was unprofessional & out of line. If THAT serious or a deeper conflict involved, they could've addressed it off the air or on the street. And people remarked about how And some said Chris is a 130lb midget or something like that. It made Chris look smaller and weaker than he is. One way Chris didn't look weak is he took it well. Not showing pain. And sure will Smith could be said to look likw a wimp more than Chris does, in relation to his wife and him hitting somebody he "knew he could beat".
