The Iraq war was a fucking lie, Saddam Hussein didn’t have any allegiance with al-Qaeda and they also didn’t have any WMDs like the U.S claimed they did. What makes you better than them? What makes you better than ISIS? I repeat, You’re going into a foreign country and killing their locals in the name of your ideals. The U.S military killed thousands of innocent civilians (7,299 to be exact) in Iraq between both air and ground raids. Imagine if that happened in the U.S? I'm here because I finally watched "American Sniper". The problem I have with this interview is the judgemental tone of this reporter. Have some respect...for what he's been through, what he's seen, and what he had to do. Whether she agreed with his doings or not, he did his job as a Navy SEAL for his country in his eyes. Mr. Kyle answered with a lot of grace.

  • @hkhilner

    @hkhilner

    7 ай бұрын

    Clint Eastwood’s version of “American Sniper” was a Hollywood production. The screenplay by Jason Hall mixed half truths with fiction. The scene where the “Hollywood Chris Kyle” looks through his scope at the young boy and says, “Don’t pick it up” was fictional. It was not Clint Eastwood’s or Warner Brothers’ intent to make a film that was historically accurate. It was their job to make a film that would sell a lot of movie tickets. The “Hollywood Chris Kyle” played by Bradley Cooper needed to be “sanitized’ for the big screen. There was no mention of Chris Kyle’s web of fabricated stories. There are people who thought the “Rambo” and “Top Gun” films were real…. as well as James Cameron’s “Titanic”. Some people can’t distinguish Hollywood productions from reality.

    @Macwebb msk Why do you want her to use an euphemism? In the end it is what it is (as Trump would put it.) As a soldier you kill people. And please dont give me crap like: "This is not killing. Its defending your country." Nobody defends his motherland 20 000 km abroad.

  • @scheisstag

    @scheisstag

    @Macwebb msk See: I think you cant only blame the politicians. You are always responsible for your choices yourself. And you dont protect your country 20 000 km away from your country and after starting the war (in both cases: Afghanistan and Iraq as well). And after reading his book you realize: Chris Kyle enjoyed killing and did it mostly because he liked the way people started to honor him after his kill "records". And the interesting fact is: His records did him in in the end. Most people think he was shot by a mental unstable guy who had PTSD. Which is not wrong. But people often shoot others for their importance. Please see the attempted assassination of Reagan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attempted_assassination_of_Ronald_Reagan#:~:text=On%20March%2030%2C%201981%2C%20United,at%20the%20Washington%20Hilton%20Hotel. I guess, he would not have been shot if he would not have been THE famous Chris Kyle. So in the end he died because someone got so used to killing, that he couldnt stop it, even after the war ended. And he got killed because of the killing "record" he was so proud of. Is this Karma? Ironic? You decide....

  • @scheisstag

    @scheisstag

    @Macwebb msk I would say: if you feel guilty for something you have done, than you dont volunteer to make it public. He wrote a book, sold his story to a movie maker and made this and hundred other interviews. Plus: he didnt gave any afford to distance himself. So I wouldnt say he is not proud. And why do you say: "I truly thank you for their services." ? If you acknowledge, that a) it was wrong for the US to invade a foreign country, Afghanistan. I mean: why are you not thanking the Afghan Taliban for their service, for defending their country? It would make more sense in my opinion, than to thank an aggressor. Is it because the US have a more similar culture to Japan? And b) that it is basically wrong to kill people and that no matter what the politicians decide: in the end its the individual that pulls the trigger and which stays at least partially responsible. Cheers from Germany and thank you for sharing your thoughts!

    The truth is, he was a soldier following orders with a talent for shooting a long-range rifle. He was simply doing whatever he needed to do to protect his comrades and applying selective humanity. That was his job. Unfortunately US foreign policy was very destructive not only to the countries it invaded, but it put regular American's in the crosshairs of harm. American's who believed they were doing what was in their countries interest and their interest. Most soldier's are just young people seeking purpose in life who are exploited into doing the muddy work that the controlling elites themselves would never do - so that the 1% can live comfortably. The fact that veteran's have so few benefits tells you all you need to know. But they glorify their soldiers with a couple medals because it's the only way to keep the cycle going.

    Cognitive Dissonance is "psychological conflict resulting from incongruous beliefs and attitudes held simultaneously". People will contort in all sorts of ways to avoid seeing the uncomfortable truth that is right in front of their eyes and facing that conflict. So we have an American war hero who you may feel is beyond reproach because of his service, and yet he is proven a liar in a court of law. So you lash out, either at Ventura, or the jury, in order to reject the new information that clashes with your strongly held belief in Chris Kyle. What usually occurs when people are presented with new information that clashes with their strongly held belief, is that they "seek to preserve their current understanding of the world by rejecting, explaining away, or avoiding the new information or by convincing themselves that no conflict really exists."

Soldiers today fight for big buisness and it's sad as fuck. But since they have wrapped the cause in BS alot of people actually think the fight for freedom. LOL US has the biggest amount of people in jail (per capita as well in sheer numbers) all due to bug buisness (private prisons). And you speak of freedom. The consitution is great, really it is. What an accomplished warrior. The man is a professional and represented the United States Military organization very well. The way in which he spoke, answering her politically inspired questions, was exclusively professional as it should be. This man is not a killer, he is a protector of the freedom and easy lives which most American people experience to the fullest. God bless Mr. Kyle and all those who have honorably served.

    You can tell he is thinking how ignorant she is. He’s so nice to be polite and not embarrass her in her tv show. She hasn’t been in the field, she hasn’t killed someone, but this man is a hero and he’s struggled a lot to pull that trigger because its his job.

    You do realize she is a reporter? These are questions she needs to ask not for her own sake - but for Kyle's sake. People may incorrectly view him as a cold-blooded killer and by giving him the chance to showcase that he isn't she is doing him a favour, not the opposite. Those were very soft questions. If she wanted to pin him she could ask a lot more morally blurry questions.

    No it wasn't. He tuned out to be schizo, and was this way before the military. He saw no action in the Marines, he sat in an armory. Guys who had served with him all said he seemed unstable, as to why they stuck his ass in the armory with un-loaded weapons(ammunition is not stored at the armory). All of his claims of seeing dead bodies or dead children in Haiti can not be backed up, as someone who deployed to combat zones, there are after action reports that must be made, and none of those reports had anything to do with corpse removal or combat. He was just a nut job who slipped through the cracks.

    @Twitch Streams Highlights I don't know if all his claims are true. I know that when you write your own story people often embellish. It becomes an exercise of self aggrandizement. But I do know the circumstances of his death. Chris Kyle should have been smarter. No disrespect intended. If you know for a fact the guy sitting in the backseat is psychologically unstable DO NOT PUT A LOADED GUN IN HIS HANDS!!! That's common sense 101. If he really wanted to help that guy he would have taken him to a shrink.
