What hurts the most is that he didn’t get to see his kids grow up. Not seeing them become teenagers, adults, not meeting his futures grandkids. He deserved a long happy life after everything he went through. He really did.

For all who think it was ptsd. He did not receive his C.A.R. and was deployed to an air station far from combat. He never once saw or did anything that could allow him to have ptsd. All he did was commit an act of mindless murder, realizing it was wrong, and try to use his "military experience" to get out of it. He was an armorer. He worked on weapons, issued them out, and checked them for cleanliness. He gave the Marine Corps a black eye not only for the murder, but also for integrity violation that followed. Please do your homework before sitting by safely in your home and deciding to be a typical keyboard warrior. If you don't have the intestinal fortitude to sign up for the military then don't talk bad about the ones who protect your "freedom of speech" Step up or step aside. Semper Fi.

Blaming the military and PTSD for his crazy. I’ve worked at the State Mental hospital. Trust me, when you ask a true Paranoid schizophrenic if they’re doing ok ... They NEVER respond w, “ Ive been paranoid schizophrenic all day. I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know what’s real.” A real paranoid schizophrenic, you don’t have to ask! They BEHAVE like they have no idea who they are, where they’re at or why they are there! They are seeing things, hiding behind chairs from people that can see through walls or covering their head so people w X-ray vision can’t read their mind and put dangerous thoughts in it. They might run from people, but not w the skill of a high speed chase to flee from cops. The chase wasn’t as much of determining factor that he knew right from wrong. Schizophrenics will run from anything, usually for NO REASON. The minute he stepped out of the car, put his hands up & did exactly what cops asked proved he knew EXACTLY what he did & what he was still doing! He had no more options, his engine died and there was nowhere to run. He didn’t want to get maced, tased, shot, or killed. He knew he killed 2 HEROS & cops were MAD! He wanted to comply so he didn’t get hurt! A true schizophrenic would’ve jumped outa the window screaming and run at the cops or into traffic. They would be confused terrified and keep running from the voices in their head or the people trying to do experiments on them chasing him w flashing light! This man was nothing more than a coward. Obviously something was wrong w him, but his illness was not brought on by the military. The military was just an excuse to justify his venom. He thought he had a forever pass to do as he wanted, destroy lives, and get away w it. People would understand and sympathize. 2 hrs to convict. An indictment happens before trial. A person is said to have been indicted when a grand jury determines enough evidence exists to move to a trial; this hearing is held in private. In Texas, a grand jury indictment is required for the prosecution to move forward on any offense classified as a felony. If a grand jury refuses to indict then the charges are dropped. If they indict then the case goes to trial. The difference between the two is the burden of proof that needs to be met. An indictment requires a finding of guilty under the burden of probable cause. A conviction requires a finding of guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and is a much higher standard.

I believe Routh was extremely envious of Chris Kyle and saw an opportunity at the shooting range. Chad just so happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. RIP to both.

How can you walk out of a court room after hearing a guilty verdict read by a judge that was delivered by a jury, and then thank God... The fucking lack of respect for the people who made it happen is disgusting. *spits*

I can not fathom the fact he went through so damn much for this country and fought through so much hell just to get gunned down by someone he thought was his own. Sickening to think about.

Can’t help but wonder what Kyle and little field would have continued to contribute to this great country - they accomplished so much in their short life, tragic an incredible loss. Makes no difference if it’s PTSD - mental illness - it’s not a excuse for murder. The killer is off the streets for life. You wonder if he will ever provide the real reason he killed. Just such a tremendous loss. A father , husband, comrade, friend , good Christian men lost. I have worked with soldiers at our VA for over 19 years - work with PTSD and mental illness - it’s not an excuse for murder- getting high and drunk is a choice - not an excuse for murder. Our soldiers in the sky - forever worriers- never forgotten. Continued prayers for the families of these fine soldiers.

If you make killers . And then they kill . It's all very sad for all parties. After serving you're not the same person no matter who you are. It's very hard to get back to "normal " we need to really do a better job of taking care of our veterans. Be safe and take care of your family.

"he was drunk and high" that's called crossfaded and has played a part in soldiers shooting other soldiers on the same side since ww2 It increases blood THC by up to 2x and can cause massive paranoia
