    My husband had an entire SAGA of failing to propose. He kept having plans and then something went wrong FOR SIX MONTHS until he just decided to give up and turn to me one day and tell me "before something happens again, will you marry me" and gives me the ring

    @@adiazrue5776 oh man, I don't want to write a whole book in the youtube comments but I'll give a few examples. (I only found out about these events keeping him from doing it after he finally proposed) Looking for the ring in December, picked out a beautiful custom ring I would have absolutely loved ->jeweler immediately goes on vacation before he can order it (He ended up asking me what kind of rings I like and just got a different one though) In January he took me to see my favorite band in concert -> forgot the ring at home My birthday is the end of January, so he wanted to do something simple and bring me a giant teddy bear with the ring -> gets out of work that day and all the big teddy bears are sold out and he spent so long searching for one I was getting sad, so not the best mood Was going to try again around valentines day -> his car broke down and was down and out for the whole month of February. Couldn't really go anywhere and that repair bill was pretty bad And it just kept going like that until like around June or July when he turns to me before going to work to ask me that, and then after he got out of work, he said he wanted to do it right at least, so he took me out to a nice dinner and got on one knee then and asked me again. I told him he could have even done that from the beginning but I loved all his effort anyway (Oops that's still pretty long)

    It's okay Chris and Garnt. I effed up my engagement too. I took my fiancé around memory lane took her to lunch where we had our first date. Had some of her favorite food for dinner did some other cute things but I planned too much for the day and it got so late that the park I was going to purpose at, where we had our first kiss was closed off as well. This was in Bangkok near Chulalongkorn University. Who closes up a public park!? My wife sussed me out too and I was acting aloof as to if I'll ever get a ring saying I'm broke or whatever but made her walk to an abandoned park and sneak in late at night, almost missing the mrt before they closed, it was too dark to take a good picture but thankfully she said yes.

    My wife is super basic in the best ways she loved Olive Garden we had our first real dinner date at Olive Garden so I like Garnt was like perfect we will go and I will propose it will be awesome. It’s of course packed as normal but this is good I want the spectacle you know. So while there right after I order a bottle of wine for us some mofo two tables over gets out of his chair and proposes the restaurant patrons all go nuts and clap….. meanwhile I’m pissed like how is this guy stealing my shonen moment. So of course I can’t do this now so we clap congratulate this couple and eat our food. We head home and I’m stil mad she could tell I was upset. 1 I had this shit planned 2 she was heading home the next day. So I was like f it we get back to my place I had a load of laundry in the trunk from the night before I was like babe could you pull that for me. She gave me dagger eyes of course but she went a did it anyway and when she turned around with the basket I was on a knee ring out. Anyway 13 years later we still married with 2 kids and hey we have a story to tell!

    It is heartening to hear others proposal hiccupa. When I proposed to my wife, I took her up to a place we loved, middle of autumn, since we loved the harvest and halloween goodness. ...and when we got up there is was raining buckets. So we go from tent to vendor tent over sodden muddy ground...and finally I find a big one, lit up and dry. While she looks around the store, I bust out the pumpkin id carried around in my backpack with "will you marry me?" On it. But the stupid ring is stuck in the bag! So i panick, rip it open, slide it on stem, whip around, put the pumpkin down and get on one knee. Utter silence. My heart is hammering in my throat, my knee is wet and muddy, and im about freaking panic. Then, she finally deciphers my terrible handwriting and says...yes. She didnt even notice the ring on the stem and couldnt read my "serial killer" handwriting, as she puts it. She was more worried I was gonna bury her in a field out back or something, giving her a permanent marker scribbled pumpkin way out away from civilization. 😆😅

    I know I shouldn't say this.....I REALLY know I shouldn't, but Chris has always rubbed me the wrong way. I've thought this for years and need to say it somewhere, and I'd like to know what others think about him His eyes are never kind, and he seems so grumpy all the time, like any little thing can put him in an incredibly foul mood. I knew a guy like this who dated my friend and I immediately caught it... Wasn't a happy relationship because of him...I'll just say that. I'm not here to spread hate, and in fact I want the reality of Chris to be that he is a kind and good person, but hearing him getting engaged to a girl who had her world crumble due to her previous engagement breaking apart has me worried for her. It doesn't help that Chris's engagement plan was done on purpose to put Sharla in distress, all because he found it funny. Maybe he's just incredibly socially awkward, or maybe he's just an ass who doesn't care how he affects other people, I don't know. It seems like I'm 100% alone on this though, so I could believe that I am wrong. Before anyone states 'It's because he's British'...I'm British, born and raised. I'm experienced with British people. This isn't British humour/quirks, it's just red flags.

  • @Steve-xo5pq

    @Steve-xo5pq

    11 ай бұрын

    That's interesting you perceive him that way. I consider myself a pretty good judge of character and I'm also pretty sensitive to mean vibes due to past trauma. However I have never seen a video of Chris where I thought "this guy is giving off red flags," and I've been watching him for quiet a while. Personally I never even try and gauge somebody's personality based on looks (ie, their eyes). There's just so much nuance to that and much of it is beyond he person's control. As far as his actual demeanor, it's pretty clear to me that his humor (in particular, his sarcasm) is very much joking. He never crosses any lines as far as I'm concerned, and to me, it's always clear that it's just a joke and it never feels mean spirited to me. I have someone in my life who has a similar sense of humor, and sometimes people who don't know him misunderstand, so maybe I'm just used to it? Anyway that's my perspective. Personally, in my experience, perspective and personal experience can really skew things. My rule of thumb when it comes to entertainment (such as watching KZread) is I don't watch anything that makes me feel bad, since entertainment is, you know, supposed to be fun! I recommend if Chris's content leaves a bad taste in your mouth, just don't watch it, but also I wouldn't recommend reading into it too much because that can also make you feel bad.

  • @jessicacunningham7021

    @jessicacunningham7021

    11 ай бұрын

    Not sure why my original reply was deleted, possibly a bug, but here we go again. I'm sure a lot of people would also state that they are a great judge of character, but the only person in my life who I can give that credit to is a friend of mine, whose gut instinct was never wrong. He should be a criminal psychologist he's so good. Like I said previously, I may be wrong about this, especially as nobody else seems to share my thoughts on this matter (at least for now), and it's not like I want to be right about him, but given my previous negative experiences of not speaking up sooner, I've come to worry if not speaking up sooner is worth the backlash I might get. In regards to what I said about his eyes, I thought it was a pretty well known ideology that the eyes are the Window to the Soul. They reveal what you're actually feeling, wheras a smile can easily be a lie. Gus from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul is a good example, and the actor made the choice to never smile with his eyes, so that when he goes from faking a smile to dropping it, you can see his eyes never changed, and only upon seeing Gus frown do we realise his eyes were always malicious. I'm surprised more people don't pick up on this. Once you notice it in one person it can be disturbing how many people are hiding their anger/irritance/sadness by just smiling. Just so we're clear, this is the only part of his looks that I am judging, his eyes alone. As to me not watching videos of Chris. I don't. After he started to make me uncomfortable, I stopped watching his channel years ago, but I do watch Trash Taste, however I avoid any videos where Chris is featured. The only reason I clicked on this video was because of the title. I obviously hope I am wrong about him, especially as Sharla seems nice and sweet and doesn't deserve another heartbreaking engagement breakup. Do you agree that Chris's choice of proposing was worrying? He clearly wanted Sharla to be worried/upset at the idea of him not wanting to get married, which, for me, is pretty messed up, especially for Sharla and her previous experience with an engagement. He clearly didn't expect/hope that Sharla would agree to marriage being bad as he was indeed planning to propose to her, which of course leads to the only conclusion that he wanted her to feel bad.

    @@chromberries7329 To be fair. I remember seeing some comments about Ned from Try Guys (before the scandal), about how his general attitude rubbed them the wrong way. How they wondered if he actually did love his wife as much as he claimed (his whole thing was him constantly talking about her). And if his whole I'm Such a Good Guy personality was fake. A lot of people were against these comments, stating that they thought Ned's attitude and actions were cute and how he makes for the best husband, and how the original commenters were just haters. But then a lot of people changed their tune when the scandal happened.

    @@jessicacunningham7021 no I don't agree. Sounds like an honest lapse in judgement. I've been doing therapy for a long time and one of the things they teach is is to take things in the most benign way possible. There's no reason to assume that he wanted to hurt sharla. Also to reiterate my point, there's nothing you can do in this case. Speaking up isn't going to do anything. Chances are neither sharla, Chris, nor the trash taste guys are going to see this, and even if they do, I can virtually guarantee they disagree and won't act on what your saying. My point about not watching Chris wasn't about ignoring your feelings and not speaking up, it's literally that you can't do anything about it, that's why I suggested you don't read into it too much. Your going to make yourself miserable if you care that much about online personalities. Same Goes for real life. It really helps to take a step back and think "do I really know enough about this person to come to any conclusions." I also agree with you that many people seem to think they are good judge of character and aren't. I'm always skeptical of people who think they can see someone's future actions for example. What I mean when I say I'm a good judge of character is I know when someone bad their sh*t together because I've been around a lot of people with mental health issues (including myself). You start to see patterns after a while because people who hurt others are often times not doing too great themselves. Anyway again I suggest not watching Chris and not over thinking it too much. I hope this helps

    Absolutely not. I get fungal infections if i don't wash my scalp regularly enough. It really depends on the individual. Don't wash your hair, wash your scalp.

    @@fireroum Yes, it does depend on the person. It could be every other day. Or every two days. Some people wash it every day or twice a day, even though it does not get greasy/they have textured hair and then they wonder why it’s so dry. Dandruff is indeed often caused by the overgrowth of the Malassezia fungus/yeast. They feed on the oils/sebum on the scalp. But if you’re not someone who deals with that often and your hair texture can’t handle it then it really is not needed to go as far as washing it daily. It’s also important that people are aware that ketoconazole shampoo is used to treat the fungal overgrowth and realise that by just washing their hair more often it doesn’t get rid of the fungus. However if the persons job causes their head to get oily, sweaty, smelly, dusty etc then yes washing it is important, as long as it is a gentle shampoo. So bottom line is: figure it out for yourself lol and if Connor says his hair is okay then it probably is and people shouldn’t judge.

    @@fireroum Oh and in addition. Yeah the fungal scalp thing sucks. I deal with that too, but I also have textured coarse wavy long hair THAT IS ALSO BLEACHED AND DYED 💀 so if I do wash it every day then rip… so what you said about washing your scalp is really true. One hairdresser tip for that is to load your ends with conditioner or a good mask and put the shampoo or treatment on the scalp and massage it in WELL before even thinking of rinsing it through.
