Relationships that spawn from friendships tend to work out better than strangers who have met. I think the reason is because the two got to know each other better and have formed a better sense of trust. However, that's not always the case and not all friends can be compatible lovers. Asking out a friend can be very scary because if the feeling isn't mutual, it can cause a rift and things fall apart after that. But I'm glad it worked out between you two.

Just randomly dating strangers is scary because you don't really know them. Romantically crossing the line with friends is terrifying because there might not be a going back. But going from friendship to relationship is so much more satisfying because the relationship is based on a solid foundation. You know them, then you get infatuated because you know them.

@@stuntmonkey00 You're correct. But most people would rather date someone they just met than someone they've been friends with for years precisely for the reason of 'there might not be a going back'. How you guys got together is pretty much how me and my boyfriend got together. We were mates for ages, spent hours every day talking and playing games together, just really good friends who can chat about aaaaanything. Then one day we are sat watching something in my bedroom and my older brother walks in, doesn't even knock or anything, looks at us both chilling and says "so are you guys gonna go out already or what?" and then laughs and walks off.. We look at each other stunned like eh? is that an option? we literally just said "you wanna give it a go?" and yeh, its been 11 years :D He still makes me laugh everyday, its the best.

Hi Sharla! I just saw your story on IG where you went through a grotesque comment about the lifestyle you chose for yourself. Even if most of us don't know you deeply, it is apparent that what you bring to us here is wholesomeness and an appreciation of life, and most of us appreciate the extent of what you share from your unique perspective in order to inform, entertain, and connect in general to us. There will always be a few closed-minded rotten apples who's out to bring down others for their twisted pleasures or misguided beliefs, but you chose to stand firm against it while being understanding. They're the ones projectiving naivete. I know you have experience dealing with a handful of these as someone with a large following, but sometimes it can still hurt. Stay strong. You and Chris are commendable human beings.

I saw your post on IG and I wanted to say that, as a barren dog lady who locked down a high value male and didn't have children, you don't owe anyone an explanation for how you choose to live. Some people can't fathom life choices different to their choices. I have found they wallow in negative feelings because they are unhappy with their lives and need to bring others down to feel even a tiny spark of joy. Occasionally someone will ask if I regret not to having children. I can assure you that as a mid-40's lady I don't regret my choice not to to have children. I am happy, and so is the high value male I gaslit into not to having children with me. ❤️ Maro has the right idea. Ignore the haters. Be happy. Enjoy your life the way you want to live it!

I’ve known I don’t want kids for a very long time. I’m only 22 but everyone keeps saying “you can change your mind.” It’s annoying how if you want kids, no one will ever say that to you though. Kinda like how Chris said, I don’t think I’d be a good parent. Me and my bf both don’t want kids and know we wouldn’t be a good fit for the job. We both prefer animals to people so we’ll just adopt some animals and give them a good life. As long as the people in a relationship know what they want, I wish more people would respect that

@@favi677 I think everyone is allowed to change their mind, but I think it's super invasive and disrespectful to ask people this and then if they tell you how they feel, people then doubling down and not excepting someone's genuine feelings at the time. And maybe some people feel the need to be so adamant about their views on not wanting children, because of societal pressure. Overall I think it's a an issue that people sort of see married with kids as the societal standard. It's quite hard to unlearn this, growing up like this I too still catch myself thinking about that sometimes e.g. when I hear someone's getting married. But I think it's sort of invalidating life when you only see this sort of "goal". People don't ask others "are you happy?" they ask "are you in a relationship yet", etc. when being on your own doesn't have to mean lonely. And it's super a super allo-centric view too. There are people that are ace and/or aro or demi and they're not unhappy. I think if people just pressure people less and don't ask invasive questions we would all have a more chill time together. Because I know people that don't really want to meet family anymore because it pulls them down psychologically to be pressured like that. And people don't even think they're pressuring others, because they're socialised to think asking these invasive questions is normal.

@@nutrinogirl456 I’m not trying to be rude or anything , I’m genuinely curious. And maybe I’m just unclear on what the exact definition of shipping is . What’s the harm in saying something like “those two would be so cute together .” Or something along those lines. I agree it’s inappropriate to say something like “they should date!” Because it puts a weird pressure and might introduce some awkward feelings to the relationship. But I think two friends who are confident in their friendship, are probably able to handle somebody saying. “Oh are you two dating?” Or “you two are so cute together” from someone who doesn’t know all the details . Sorry I’m a little blazed and I type a lot when I’m high . TLDR in your opinion, are there limits to things you can say (in the context of shipping) , or is everything completely off limits?

I think if someone being shipped is affected, then at least a part of them is hoping for that relationship. @@Crybaby-Media especially with internet personalities, you don't know them. To try to throw romantic or sexual connotation to their relationship is overstepping. I'd argue it's weird to say "you'd be cute together" to friends too, but at least then it can potentially come from a place of knowing the nuance of the relationship. With celebs and influencers, you don't know the nuance to their relationship. Having to hear it over and over and over from people who don't know you that you'd be "so cute with (friend)", it's like this weird expectation that people can't have close, platonic relationships with the gender they're attracted to.

I'm now fifty and went through about 35 years of unnecessary, excruciating, monthly pain and the occasional surgery. I still don't want kids; never waivered. Don't let other people try to tell you who you are, girls. Some women see menopause as a ticking time bomb -- and if you're maternal at all, that's totally understandable. Our 33rd anniversary is this year, friends first is a good basis for a long solid relationship IMO, you get to see each others best and worst moments over a good length of time. It’s cute to see Chris blush and go coy when he thinks about the change from friends to dating. My wife is obsessed with True Crime KZread channels too. Apparently it’s a woman thing. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Pendulum is a great choice, I listen to it when riding my motorbike or driving.

Adorable Q&A. I had fortune teller vibes from the Journey Across Japan series too (and Im British, so I got the “Friend” jibe in the frenemy context that was intended). Chris has been the boy pulling at Sharla’s pigtails to get her attention for a looong time! The robot definitely needs to be the ring bearer at the wedding.

After seeing that horrible comment on your Instagram story, I just wanted to say how much of a role model you are. After many years of watching your videos, I absolutely love the content you produce as well as your happy, upbeat energy. I'm so happy that my two favorite KZreadrs have found each other. It's inspiring!

The old inserts of Chris ranting about Sharla are pure gold! ❤

'It's a nice face innit?' Ah yes, classic British flirting. The flashbacks to Chris talking about Sharla's videos way back when were so funny I was losing my mind laughing! I feel like this was a really lowkey video, no music and just the same background, but you guys have such an amazing chemistry that you're hilarious and entertaining and so much fun to watch even when you aren't on a crazy trip together or anything like that. Love watching you guys together so much

Sorry, I definitely guessed y'all were together from like... at least two years ago, or whenever I first started watching both of your channels. Loved seeing all the old footage of you! Also, I have to repeat what a lot of others have said, it's always so refreshing to hear people say openly they don't want/like kids. That's so wonderful.

I remember when I was waiting for you to get Maro back home, and now you have a man you're going to marry. I couldn't be happier for you both. All I have to say is humor is the spice of life, and I wouldn't be married and be with my husband for as long as I have been without it. I'm so happy you have that, and you deserve it after the health scare you went through! Congrats!
