    I have the ETC 150/5 and it’s an absolute game changer. On plywood, I use a higher grit sandpaper (usually 220) on a slower speed and it’s phenomenal. I do want to get the Rotex 150 soon to use instead of a belt sander when I need to get crazy. Haha

    Great information. I wish I would have had this information before I bought my sanders. I have the Rotex 90 and the ETS 125. Probably would have got the ETS 150. But I really like both my sanders. The Rotex 90 i use to remove paint from furniture. It does an excellent job. For some of the larger pieces with flat surfaces I’d probably like the 150 Rotex. But… there’s always room to add more LOL

    Anyone wanting to do polishing, note the 125mm sanders have a reduced range of genuine polishing pads compared to 90mm and 150mm. Also, the Rotex 90 can take a variety of delta papers as well as round ones.

    Very informative video, thank you for doing this. I'd have added that the 90 mm rotex also has a delta mode and explain what that is. I'd love to have also heard about extraction, in do they all need to be used with an extractor or can a bag be used?

    The Rotex and ETS EC models do not have a turbin inside that will extract dust into a bag like the DTS, RTS and ETS sanders, so they should be used with a dust extractor.

    A couple mistakes that shouldn't be in an official Festool video: 1) The ETC/EC 125 does not come in a 5mm orbit version 2) The geared modes of the Rotex sanders are not random. There is no "geared random orbit" mode, and in rotex mode the orbits are not random - they are geared and predictable.

    "Bed" does the somewhat mediocre/amateur woodworking channel. Not sure why they're putting him on festool. Maybe he pulls bigger audience numbers?

    @1:28 you say that both 125 and 150 series got a 3mm and a 5mm stroke model but I don't see any 125 / 5 on the site.

    I believe he mispoke as Festool does not make a 125/3.

    @@pctatc66 That's my bad. I meant to type 125/5. I apologize.

    They do NOT make a 125/5 we just purchased a 125/3 and explored all options prior. The RO 90 is great on face frames, narrow tight spots with accessories.

    I wouldn't waste your time with Festol sanders. Expensive and unreliable.

    How many have you bought? And how many do you still own? Who in your expert opinion makes a superior product? In my experience, it’s the most common sander in any boat yard among professionals.
