Hi Ellen, I'm a first timer. I only use interchangeable, I have 4 sets, 2 Addi and 2 Knitpro, I use them all for different yarns, different stitches and for varying lengths of cord. Couldn't live without them!!! Addi lace have short needles and cords

I'm a crocheter and looking forward to start knitting once I decide what brand needles to get. I suppose I can try a needle from each brand but by that time I've already spent a lot. Hmm.. The costs of needles have skyrocketed. $200.00 a set now.

Thank you for this video!! I learned knit and purl stitches during the pandemic but haven't gone much further than a knit headband and in progress seed stitch wash cloth with scrubby yarn. I have only gotten wood straight needles and one pair of metal ones. I had absolutely no clue what to look for in interchangeable/circular knitting needles. My goal this year is to make a Ravenclaw (cobalt blue with bronze letter) initial sweater reminiscent to the Weasley sweater in Harry Potter. This video helped a lot ❤

@CrazyForEwe I think I'm leaning towards an Addi (not sure which set exactly) or the Lykke Blush set. I will definitely try them out through a local in person yarn shop to narrow it down further! I'm excited to watch the rest of your videos :)

I have Chiao Goo both of the blue and red mini sets, standard and bamboo. I recently bought the Lykke bamboo. I also have the Hiya Hiya standard and bamboo sets which you didn't mention. I prefer my bamboo sets The Chiao Goo bamboo have the sharpest tips, then Hiya Hiya with the Lykke being more rounded which I love for regular knitting. I do wish the cables were softer and swiveled.

Chiagoo just came out with a new cable. A cross between their two cables. Swivels and is like the red ones. I think I will get the red set and buy the extra cables seperately.

I have just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for your video, so helpful. I did wonder if the red twist chiaogoo can be used on the Knit Pro interchangeable needles, Have you tried ? I am a knitter who has not knitted for 25 years, so just getting back into it. Would you recommend 4 or 5 inch needles for larger hands ? Any ideas ?

Hi there! Thank you so much for subscribing and for taking the time to comment. Regarding the red twist cables, I do not believe they are interchangeable with Knit Pro line. I do believe the Lykke cables are interchangeable with Knit Pro.

Have you tried the knitters pride mindful collection? I'm curious on your thoughts on them. I'm currently trying to decide between those or the chiagoos.

I bought a Knitter's Pride Karbonz fixed circular, and I loved it. It has the warmth of wood or bamboo, but the speed of metal needles. So I bought the interchangeable set. And I don't like the joins on the interchangeables. They stick out more than on the fixed, and make it hard to do small circumference magic loop.

I like the Karbonz too. I have the interchangeable set but have never noticed a problem on the join. I’ll have to look at that.

Does the finish rub off of those plated needles? I would be heartbroken if my needles had the finish come off. I want something I invest that much money in to last, hopefully a lifetime.

  • @CrazyForEwe

The finish does not come off. However I will tell you that the Addis are now plated with white bronze, which does need polishing from time to time. It’s simple to do with metal polish and a soft cloth. It’s really kind of satisfying to see them go from a little tarnished to gleaming silver
