Brilliant method and beautiful video! Ingredient list for the indolent: 3 egg yolks 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g) 1/3 cup cornstarch (50g) 2 cups hot milk (500ml) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup dark chocolate (100g) My tips for those who are interested: 1) weigh your ingredients on a scale to ensure you are using the correct amounts 2) pass pastry cream through a fine mesh strainer before refrigerating to remove any lumps and further promote the satiny texture of the pastry cream and 3) add a pinch of salt to the pastry cream as it on heat as salt makes the flavor of chocolate pop.

Just for anyone considering making it; this recipe is on-point and perfection! (I just used 2 eggs because that's all I had left), I made it and put it into ramekins and oh my goodness! 10/10, I cannot believe how simple it is - never buying those overpriced Gu desserts or equivalent again! Umm, I guess you meant a recipe, receipt is something you get when you pay for something you bought.
Just made a vanilla pastry cream. I used it between layers of chocolate sponge. I also made a raspberry cake filling that I put on the chocolate sponge 1st then put the pastry cream on top of that. Finished it off with a vanilla bean SMBC. That slice of cake was so delicious. I have yet to make a chocolate pastry cream. Only made a vanilla, lemon and raspberry but the raspberry one didn't turn out to good. Taste like spoiled milk hence using a raspberry cake filling instead. One tip for those new to pastry cream. Buy yourself a French whisk. I use one every time I make a pastry cream or curd. With one you're able to get at the bottom edges of the pan. I still strain my pastry cream but I really don't have to thanks to that whisk. Hope this is helpful...

It will become oversweet, the cream already have high suggar content so use 70% dark chocolate.
Can i use dis as frosting to cakes?

It will be runny and sticky so it’s better to put it between layers rather than on the whole cake
Can we use cocoa powder instead if chocolate chips?

Use both ❤️❤️ but if you don’t have chocolate chips then it won’t thicken as much

@@abdallahmortada8954 haha oh wow you answered after 5 months thought that I was too late 😭😭 enjoy the recipe!! It can be used between cake layers, mixed with whipped heavy cream to make ice cream, or frozen for a rich chocolate custard ice cream by itself. So many fun things.
