The more throat singing videos I watch, the more 'colours' I can hear in the sound..they might be only singing one note in a melody, but you can hear two, three, four or more harmonics around them. Amazing how they do it.

It's technically not kargyraa. It's actually called Oidupaa, named after Vladmir Oidupaa. It's actually the principles of the throat tension of sygyt and khoomei applied to kargyraa. There is actually a video on youtube about vladmir oidupaa. I suggest you look :) Great to see you take an interest.

I figured it out, kind of. His name is Igor Koshkendei. I also found this; "Igor toured and performed very successfully in the US with the group, Chirgilchin in 2000 and 2001. Igor has also released two CDs: "Music from Tuva" 1998 Amiata Records, Italy, and "Aryskan Wind" 1999 Pure Nature Music, USA" Have yet to find a place to get either of those recordings however.

No, it's actually just called "Igor's Solo". This man is Igor Koshkendkey (sp?). It shows his skill in sygyt and oidupaa. He is one of only two people who have mastered the style. He and the creator of the style are the only two.

Making good videos takes a lot of learning and expensive equipment; pay attention to every little difference between professional video and home video. Good quality is lots of little things that add up. I am glad to see videos of these guys, so I am glad this is up here -- but the manager makes these decisions for a living, and it may affect his living. Do you make videos for a living? And if you respect them enough to ask permission, you should respect them enough to honor their wishes.

It certainly is a lot of free publicity and a great clip. As a manager you would be crazy not to utilize something like this.
