Ok, now onto the info about this Chinese street food tour in Yunnan:
Xizhou, China
On Day 1, we drove from Dali Old Town to Xizhou, another ancient town near Dali, that’s known for some famous Chinese street food snacks.
We started for breakfast with a thick pea porridge and a pea pudding salad. The grandmother serving had been making these same dishes since she was a child with her mother. The breakfast was warming and delicious, and it hit the spot in the morning.
Total price - 8 RMB ($1.20)
Xizhou Baba - Probably the most famous Chinese street food you have to try in Xizhou is baba, which is also sometimes known as a Chinese pizza. It’s a round of dough that’s mixed with lard and meat, or the sweet version, and baked in a unique street oven using charcoal. Part of the fun is watching it being made. Then of course, eating it is absolutely delicious.
Price - 10 RMB ($1.50) per piece
Yunnanese cheese - Next up in Xizhou we went to watch a local Yunnanese Cheese demonstration. Yunnan is one of the few places in China where there is a cheese culture - some say it was brought over with the Mongols. We made some local cheese, then put it out to dry, then they let us sample some different types of the prepared cheese. Price - 8 RMB ($1.20)
Yi He Zhuang (怡和庄) Restaurant - This Yunnanese ethnic Bai Chinese food meal was the highlight of my day. We had an absolute feast of a meal, including a few unique Chinese dishes like raw pig sashimi and pine needle salad. Everything was colorful, using natural ingredients and the flavors were spectacular. This meal is one I’ll never forget.
Total price - 215 RMB ($32.41)
Dali Old Town - It was a long day of delicious Chinese food, and in the evening we drove back to Dali Old Town and headed out for dinner.
Duan’s Kitchen - For dinner we were back in Old Town Dali, and my friend Frank from Zouba Tours mentioned that Duan’s Kitchen was a little touristy, but he said we needed to try it because the food was amazing and they are doing some unique things. The food was outstanding, and my favorite dish was the chicken braised in chili oil with pu’er tea.

Tough Harley Calm down, how on God's earth do you know who is the better parent. Sounds idiotic for you to judge when you do not know them, all you know is what he allows you to see. And what makes you say she doesn't get enough respect??? Mark treats her extremely respectfully and kind judging from the reactions we CAN see.
Lol your local friend is so attentive, she keep telling to the street vendor that don't forgot to add more chili's in your food cause you like it and really good at handling the heat 😂

I come from Dali, and I am studying abroad now. I really miss my hometown. I can’t stop crying when I saw you show by chance. All the foods you ate in the show are my favorite,and I think they are the most delicious food in the world. Thanks for introducing The Dali Food to the world.

I lived in Kunming for 2 years. (The capital of the Yunnan Province.) This video brings back so many memories. The people there are so lovely (for the most part). The street food was endless. There are so many ethnic minorities with distinct cuisines that there was always something new to try. The babas were among my favorite things to eat.
Thank u for doing this Mark...we may never get to go to all these countries ourselves and even if we do we would never get to eat at these local places...but through your videos we get to experience it all

People in Yunnan are so friendly, relaxed and happy! They live a very good life with their unique culture and lifestyle.

I can tell that you are not just traveling to eat....you appreciate different cultures and their lifestyles. I learn a lot from you.....and I LOVE the fact that your family is with you wherever You go. Micah is getting big. I see him holding his own cup. Ying is a trooper when it comes to her men. She's a great wife and mother from what I can see.
Dali is one of my most favorite place in China. Not only just the environment but also the people and the food for me. It's just amazing.

Asian food to me is among the best out there, everything has so much flavor. Delicious sauces, different textures, choice of ingredients. And I only had Asian food in US, I can only imagine how wonderful the food is at the actual location.

This was one of the best Vlogs you've made. Amazing food, plus great courage to eat the raw pork since your system is not use to it. In my travels to the region I always ate everything presented, regardless of how unusual it was as I never wanted to offend anyone. My rule of thumb is if the locals eat it so can I.

I'm a college student, and you may know that we kinda low on budget when comes to eating. Even though I only eat instant noodle, but if plus I watch your video, I feel like I'm eating right there with you and having the same taste as you eat. My instant noodle got 200% more flavorful! Hi Mark, I have been watching your videos everyday during this quarantine, love all of them! I am from Kunming and living in your hometown Honolulu now. I used to study in Bangkok for a year, Thai food is definitely my favorite, you are so lucky to live there. I just watched the video of your son was born, super cute and I can see how happy you and your wife are in the video. My daughter was born on November 12th as well but not the same year. Feels like we have so many things in common.Hope all is well with you and your family.

I remember China is where all this food journey began back in 8 years, where you had some bioled vegetables and a plate of Dumpling(jiao zi) I believe in Yunnan or nearby provinces, but I coundn't find that video anymore. So glad you came back to China again with Ying and Mika where you can spend your entire life to explore, there is just so much to try!

Sometimes I really got tired of watching his videos because I always feeling hungry and salivating every time he put food in his mouth , I have the urge to grabbing it. His actions of tasting the food makes me envious why he is there surrounded by all delicious foodies and I am in my bed ready to snores… good luck to him.

Jack1215Jack last April I went to Chengdu & Juzhaigou. For the food, we just dont really like the spice. Have different kind of spicy taste that not suit us, I think.😂😂 But overall we satisfied with other foods & happy because we can find halal food there.

Adzmar Nera Sichuan food originally for poor people, especially Sichuan is still a poor province in China, not everyone Chinese likes that.

As a Chinese, I respect their custom of eating raw pork, as you can see, the people living there, they are minority ethic, 15:33 they don’t speak China, they have their own characters , that is different from Chinese, so the culture in there is very original and unique, outsiders shouldn’t intervene but respect, as a YunNaner living in Europe, i saw French people eat snail and goose liver(food gras), Swiss people eat dogs and cats, Iceland people eat sharks, finish eat reindeer, Norwegian eat seals. Different people has different cultures
And mark pls make a video abt what Micah is eating during traveling or at home or what kids can eat what are their options .. ❤❤❤

He says “that food was not my favourite” bt he never rudely says bad about food... he know the food stall/restaurant owner knows he is filming a vdo and they are probably gona watch it later.. no one likes negative publicity... his bad expressions can hamper business of restaurant owner and he always keeps that in mind.. thats a gud thing actually.. and i respect mark for that

Wonderful location with a Chef guide. I have never eaten raw pork, intriguing, I would definitely need sauce. Cute baby Micah is very talkative in this video. Noodles and rice didn't take over the meals. The berry yogurt dessert looked not to sweet, I like that.
