Chinese drill press | Restoration | Variable frequency drive

After cooking my old drill press with 3" hole saws, I decided to upgrade and restore it. During the restoration I changed the motor for more powerfull one, added all of the electronics for variable frequency drive (VFD), new wiring. It came out perfect. It will do the job untill I find a bigger machine.

Hey, there you've done a very nice job again - thank you for entertainig me with your Video! In case of spending so much money i would change the crappy chinese spindle bearings against quality bearings from FAG or SKF. There are only a few cheap small normal ball bearings inside it. One other point I would like to mention is the cord between the motor and the VFD. In the worst case it can emit electromagnetic radition which can disturbs elektronical devices. If you're power grid operator knows that it can be very expensive. Keep it up! Greetings from Germany, Felix

If it's not the way it came from the original factory then it is not a restoration!!!!! It's a modification or renovation! But certainly NOT a restoration!!!! It's really sad that you don't know the difference! You really should not use words that you don't know the true meaning of!

Wow, all the exclamation marks. Sad? Really sad? All the actual sad things in the world and you think a grammatical error is really sad. “You really should not use words that you don’t know the true meaning of”

@@ericlyons6251 and you still did not learn anything. Maybe I should have used more of them. I should have known that you are one of those people who reject constructive comments. Just remember that for every negative comment you see that there's at least 26 other people who wanted to say something but were afraid to. So multiply every negative/constructive comment by 27. But if you love Missusing words you might as well refer to every Chevy as a ford, and every motorhome as a Winnebago, and every four wheel drive does a Jeep, and hundreds of other misused words in our language.
