Mine also get that white smoke and it must start two times before its start. What tips do you have ? Clean glowplug?

@@jon964 I just bought a new one in the end for £89.99, they are so cheap.. the service kit was £30 and I managed to sell the old unit for £40 spares or repairs. Personally. I recommend doing the same. If you've had a lot of use from it then they are so cheap it is worth replacing it by now as other parts like electronics etc will begin to get tired. That's just my two p. You may decide to keep yours going forever :)

@ Yes its only 8 weeks old, i run it on low power in the winter and than i Get the problem. Open it today Clean now its works fine. Glowplug was soo dirty 🤭

@@jon964 Oh you be best running it up to full power for a few hours a week at least, let it clear itself out!
good video mate. 5:35 that gasket looks like a fish lol
The most important is to clean the mesh inside the steel burner, the breather hole and the atomiser mesh, eventually the glow plug, the rest is not that important. If you don't clean the aforementioned you'll get white smoke guaranteed.
subtitles are brilliant 👏
Just got a new one from ebay and im not getting power to the controller. Checked fuse and I'm getting 12v to the ecu but no voltage to the controller? What else can i Check?
A bit of brake cleaner in there brings back the shine mate.
Make sure its pwopper dry peeps, and careful with glow pug :)
I think you could get it clean af if you soak some home made "Ed's Red" bore solvent into the carbon and scrubbed it good, then wiped it out and scrubbed it in soapy water. Then rince it with boiling water so it'll get hot enough the moisture steams off it.
Good idea to take photos with your phone & or mark the cables, please use a mask next time, how about new gaskets, love your It's a simple job attitude.
You don't have to take the casing off the combustion side. Just unscrew the fan cover and the heater will just slide out.
Just like to know what liquid/fuel have being used to have cause so much carbon, suit in combustion chamber. Thanks.
That carbon buildup is nothing compared to my homes cast iron coal-to-oil furnace from late 1800s. Cleaning it out every 2-3 months! 😜
would you consider using carb cleaner instead of water? will prob make it easier to clean too

Cheers for the vid man, I got a question you may be able to answer for me. I have my heater in just over a year and last night the 01 error code came up but wouldn't reset with the 1688 code...would giving the heater a clean and change glow plug help...batteries were fully charged also so no low voltage issue.

Anything under 11.2 it will just cool down and switch off the best way off starting them up is run the engine till the heater get to temperature
hi question iv bought a new one & the exorst is seald with paste & there's a strange smell its had about 70 hours of run time.

Buy new seals maybe the seal u use is high temperature so it burning
👍🙂👍
Well done! You did not check the atomizing screen.
The shell is die-cast aluminium, i think. The chamber is steel.
Just to repeat an earlier comment about the atomiser screen around the glow plug that you should have replaced or at least cleaned as part of the process !!
Any reason why you had to take it apart? Just wondering, mine stopped working after a few months. Some searches said I shouldn't have ran it on the low setting since is causes soot buildup in the chamber. Yours looked like it was still good inside?
@andysutils

That's not because you're running it on low. That's because your pulsing rate is set to low on your control board so it's not burning the fuel quick enough on it's lowest mode.
@tonyasue88

@@andysutils are you able to walk us how to change the settings so that e can run it on low without build up? Ours says everything in Chinese and unfortunately I haven't found anyone else who has any videos 😒
@andysutils

@@tonyasue88 Press the menu until you get to the code entry screen, most if not all of the codes are 1688. This will take you through to the engineers settings, go through them until you get to the screens where you can set the minimum and maximum pulse rates. If you dont smell any sweet smell type burning fuel cycling out of the exhaust outlet. Then you dont have to change anything.
How work that?

Cast aluminum.. like an engine block eh?
Did I miss something or did you skip cleaning the fuel screen? 🤔
wheres the screen for the glow plug
You did not replace or clean the glow plug strainer screen.
Did you just clean the soot out of the diesel burner inside the house ???🤣🤣 , That stuff is nasty if it gets on the floor , hands or anywhere!
Did it work after the cleaning, you forgot the most important part you did not change, the atomizing screen that surrounds the glow plug. 60C piece.

The heater is basically a diesel engine. Why not just use Sea Foam in the fuel and let it clean itself as it runs?

Actually soaking carbon buildup in hot soapy water or even better steam cleaning works great! I once left a set of cylinder heads that were caked with carbon upside down outside overnight. it rained that night and the combustion chambers filled with water. I used a wire wheel to clean them up but the water soaking overnight caused the carbon to flake off nicely I could see the big time flaking when I dumped the water out of them that wasn't there the day before. I did use brake cleaner for the final clean on the gasket mating surface. Now I take a spray bottle of water with engine hot at idle and spray the water straight into the intake. cleans better than some solvents in most cases. No joke!
@leviscott8519

Brake clean does work good for a final cleaning though. If its oil/grease yes brake clean after a diesel brush scrub because it brakes down the grime and doesn't evaporate quick like harsh solvents/brake clean. Iv been around the engine building block.
Did you completely ignore the burner on purpose? That’s the only part that matters. First pet to fail from clogging.. this video is useless
Terrible "Service", what about the very important mesh & air hole ? complete novice..
I'd be embarrassed to upload this.
