They sometimes ask other people to come up with the beat and 808s for the track, which then gets translated by the Clays. I'm sure they must have a lot of input on the process tho.
I was waiting for Scottie to come up and tap his leg gently 😂

First time watching him for me but what grabbed my attention was that all cymbals are damped so they are almost gated. This way it makes all the rest of the kit sound so clean because theres no long crashes, builds from the ride, etc - v v nice!!!!!
I have no idea how you could even memorize all those snare ghost notes and cymbal accents. His cymbalwork is otherworldly. Clay is an absolute monster.

2:53-3:00 I YELLED and had to replay immediately. I already loved how the guitar line/s closely follow the vocals in this section, and seeing this playthrough made me realize how close the drum line is following too. That level of intention and precision gets me every time, every replay.
What the world needs is a Polyphia Beat Saber pack. This song must be included. There are so many delicious complex rhythms in their catalog.

A big thing I love for Polyphia is just the attention to detail with every instrument, everyone is insanely talented and doesn’t overshadow and sit the background the whole time. Everyone compliments each other and its just a perfect blend for me. The technical skill from everyone is incredible and with the progression and evolution since Muse.. Damn.. I can’t wait to see where you guys will be at 5 years from now. Let’s fucking go.

The cymbal work in this song is on a whole different level. That 2nd hi-hat with the holes in it adds some amazing depth to the whole tone of the song. Dude is a human drum machine.
Being a beat maker, this video is amazing to see!! Trap drums not programed yet created and preformed on set! Love this here and great job on the album Clay!!
Unbelievable. Clay is a human metronome. Can’t believe how even the stick strokes are. Tight as can be. Almost robotic 😂. Absolutely amazing talent. Hope these guys stick around for a long time.

Luke was approached by polyphia to help write and record 6 songs on their album. Luke Holland wrote and recorded. Later it was changed by Clay Aeschliman due to what he felt was right for the song. And the fact that Clay was cool with this collaboration is way too cool \m/ .
I'm an amateur drummer who got to know Polyphia though Tim's apperance on Jared Dimes's end of year video, but man, when I heard the entire band I was mesmerized not only for the other music members, but especially for the drummer's work, as this kind of music and beat are not the conventional drum game. Congrats for your work and creation on the drumset to complement the guitar and bass melodies. Your cymbal work is marvelous! Thank you for the video
Amazingly simplistic and pocketed for how complex this music is. Majorly professional.
