Anyone who says otherwise is delusional, downright moron, and should probably go listen to Britney Spears (whom Alexi did a great cover of, btw). Alexi was a musical genius and one of the greatest solo writers of all time. Composing Hatebreeder with all its grandeur at the age of 19 is sheer madness, and his legendary melodic runs will always remain unmatched. You could hear a solo and just know that this is Alexi’s doing. He will be greatly missed, but he will always be remembered through his legacy. Thank you for all the memories, Alexi!

*CHILDREN OF BODOM - Under Grass and Clover* Lyrics: Flashback from the night before Was it the other day, I couldn't say It's all coming in pieces But before you know they just fade away Goddamn! What did I hear, what'd I do? Where did I go and how'd I get here? I know... I'm too far gone A deadbeat, a travesty so what's my next strategy? Fuck me, there's blood on my hands That's nothing new but now they're shaking too Everything's soaked in sweat Here comes the "forgive and forget" Who should I forgive? Forget that plan I really don't give a damn Just need my fix, I'm dying So break out the bottle and stop crying And the calm washes over My soul drying my tears Under the grass and clover A new sense of hope appears Choking, breathing, exhaust Hard to keep an even keel Shot boiling mercury It burns so bad yet I can't feel Choking, breathing, exhaust Hard to keep an even keel Sweating, boiling mercury It burns so bad yet I can't feel Walking in a mine field Hard to keep my eyes peeled Shot to hell and fried No heaven, evermore denied And the calm washes over My soul drying my tears Under the grass and clover A new sense of hope appears.

Jesus these lyrics are depressing. It's all right there isn't it. Funny when you hear blood on my hands it's usually thinking about who did I kill? Classic Bodom Reaper imagery. But really it's the blood from puking up all the damage from drinking. Fucking addictions man.

Still remember how I felt when I first discovered COB back in 2008 when I was 13. I was totally mind-blown. My first two songs were Everytime I die and Angels Don’t Kill. I Kept repeating them over and over again. The band has a special place in my heart and I still honestly believe they are the best in their genre. Their early releases are just legendary. Felt so sad when I heard that Alexi passed away .. that’s when I knew I’ll no longer be able to hear his unique melodic runs .. His legacy will never be forgotten.

My favourite band too. First song of them I heard in 1998, it was Deadnight warrior from some mixed metal CD. It was like ages ago but I still have goosebumps every time I hear it. Then I managed to get Hatebreeder and Something Wild on compact cassete! And immediately gone crazy of the stuff, they are still my favourite albums. Been on two concerts in Moscow in 2003 and in october 2019, who would have known that in just 2 months the legend will pass away.. So sad.. His songs will live forever in our ♥️

If you are talking about guitar-keyboard unison (both playing together), its only IWC where probably only 2 songs had it (I, Hurt, Widdershins). Halo of Blood had 4 (Scream for silence, Bodom Blue Moon, Damage Beyond Repair, All Twisted). RRF had 7 (Not my funeral, Shovel knockout, transference, RRF, Pussyfoot Miss Suicide, Ugly, Cry for the Nihilist), Blooddrunk had 4 (Hellhounds, Blooddrunk, Tie My rope, Done with Everything) and so on. These are just songs that had both of them playing leads together. Solo duels (playing one after the other) was in almost every song.

Cant believe it, still. RIP Alexi, thank you and CoB for everything over the past decade since I've started to listen to Bodom. Hope you are jamming with Randy Rhoads, Lemmy, Eddy van Halen and all the other legends who passed over the years. It still seems unreal to me, but I guess I have to accept it just as it is. Traveled to Helsinki in December 2019 to see the final CoB concert, I am now more happy than ever that I did that. Cheers to the Hate Crew around the world.

It's so heartbreaking to read the lyrics of this song, to really think about everything, to come to the realization that it was all about addiction. When the calm washes over My soul drying my tears Under the grass and clover A new sense of hope appears It's like he truly felt as if he couldn't ever overcome his addiction while he was alive, and that he wouldn't ever break the cycle unless he was dead/in the ground (hence "Under Grass and Clover") 😢 RIP Alexi 🖤

So sad I never got to see these guys live. I found out about them a year before alexi passed and listened to their entire catalog front to back and love this song the most. They were gonna tour about an hour from me and I was so determined to get an autograph from him on anything. A shirt, cd, my arm I didn't care. Still really sad about that. Rip Alexi
