Sorry but that isn't what the report says, It says there was no evidence it improved the quality of life of the patient when taking them, She also said there was no evidence of potential harms , So what your saying is not factually true because there is no studies that show puberty do cause harm, that what it says in the report, she dismissed 50 studies showing it did help with quality of life, But they are doing a study now , so some children who partake in that study and will get puberty blockers.

To be fair everything you listed includes life altering chemicals (or near permanent body modification in case of tattoos). And we know those substances to be dangerous regardless of age. But if it was wrong treatment, wrong schooling, wrong parental advice, wrongful use for far reaching celebrity platforms or influencers. Then that should carry with it damages. Some detransitioners have had their lives ruined by this. I mean no more sexual pleasure, urinary tract infections, constant pain, impossible to very difficult to now find a life partner in light of the above and potential infertility, or now only very expensive methods to now have their own children. Theres been a lot of bad advice and damage done, its been irresponsible and it should carry with it damages. If theres no punative fines to pay. Then theres no deterent of it ever happening again. So yeah I think people sewing this bad advice should never be allowed to work in healthcare in any capacity, because they really were not working in the best interests of their patients.

I think that Channel 4's pathetic wokeness has prevented from them dealing with this properly.

So we need to stop treating central precocious puberty. That's puberty blockers in use since 1980. And we need to stop giving TEEN girls breast augmentation / reduction and rhinoplasty (nose surgery) and TEEN boys mastectomies. Those surgeries _literally_ occur about 100,000 times more often than trans surgeries. And all they require is 1 parent to agree. And we need to stop giving girls birth control pills until they're 18. Gee... there is so much medicine we need to unwind to meet your goals.

All this talk of losing the "expertise" of those with years working with trans children misses the fact that these distressed children need clinicians who will first see them as individual human beings, not trans avatars born in the wrong body. A bunch of idealogues working in medicine became SO CERTAIN of one insufficiently-tested protocol which centered around an insufficiently defined or evidenced concept, gender, and another suspect theory coming out of Psychology (which has a long history of pathologizing natural human variation), so that they were unable to recognize an entirely new cohort of mentally distressed children, which differ from the earlier group in very important and varied ways.

There's a great deal of expertise and evidence. Cass decided only very specific studies qualified. People might have been fleeing Tavistock because they had thousands of patients but only the capacity for a few dozen. It's amazing how Cass can say there's not enough evidence to support use of puberty blockers yet concludes it's harmful. And their reasons have _nothing_ to do with effectiveness or safety.

@@ApacheMagic Actually puberty blockers ARE tested and safe for children. Her issue is the tests were for a different condition. (14.6) That's like saying Tylenol is unsafe for an aching broken arm because it wasn't tested for that condition.

One thing the Cass Review has proven is that we should stop referring to these kids as 'trans', use 'gender questioning' maybe. A 14 yo 'trans' kid may change their mind in 6 months if left alone medically and psychologically. Counseling is fine but not counseling that only 'affirms.' As this scandal is studied in coming years, we'll likely see that the manipulation of language and meaning had a lot to do with it. This movement has appropriated the 'conversion therapy' issue from the LGB movement. Changing the meaning and weaponizing it to go after any dissenters.

An adult professional affirming a child's concern that they are 'born in the wrong body' is committing an act of evil.

Only the most drastic of gender affirming care is permanent. Puberty blockers and hormone treatments are reversible, social transitioning is obviously reversible, it's literally just a hair cut and change of codes, vocal chord surgeries aren't really useful for kids whose voices are changing regardless. You're more likely to regret a tattoo than gender affirming care, and that's a statistical fact.

From the website of Dr Aidan Kelly and his private clinic, their team consists mostly of clinical psychologist, and only one psychiatrist. There is no paediatrician ,endocrinologist or surgeon to safeguard the children's physical health. Who will be responsible for explaining and follow up the side effects of the medications or surgery?

The child saying that they were going through puberty and were distressed and had no one to talk to.....why didnt the mother talk to her biological daughter and help her understand puberty and her bodies changes. What happened to parenting?

Ideally I would try to find someone who has experienced what they are explaining, eg; if I wanted to learn about menopause I'd look to a doctor who had experienced menopause.

This girl says that speaking to someone wouldve helped but what she means is someone who wouldve affirmed her. They have an expectation of what they want from medical professionals and if they dont get it from one they move on to look for one that will give them what they want. Her and her mother likely wouldve not accepted help or advice from a doctor who said "Im not sure you are trans, I think maybe your autism/body dysmorphia/past trauma/whatever else is the cause of your distress. Lets explore that." They probably wouldve called them 'transphobic' or reported them for being 'non affirming.'

This is a huge issue I saw in my brief time working in CAMHS, particularly in girls with ASD. So many had their anxiety around puberty combined with their ASD interpreted by their parents as body dysmorphia and then nothing else mattered

Help kids be comfortable with their own bodies and identities instead 😢

The Cass Review was the first big step in standing up to ideological activists. This is important because it also gives laypeople something to point to when questioning ideology without having to feel like a bigot. And that is essentially the crux of the issue-people scared they’ll be called a bigot if they say that this doesn’t sound right to them.

The one thing all these children have in common is that one unquestionable thought in their head that goes like ‘oh so what if there are people who regret it? I’m one of the _real_ trans people, I’ll always be this way, I need this’ And then they’re wrong, but by the point they realize so they’ve been dragged too deep and there’s no going back.

No one is born in the wrong body. - Why isn't this the policy?

It's not confusion. It's knowing who you are in person is radically different from how you look. *The conflict* between self perception and obvious biology is what causes gender dysphoria. Either we rewire the brain to change their personality (impossible) or we reshape their body to reflect their person. Parents are listening to their children. _Children_ are the ones saying *SOMETHING IS WRONG.* You need to listen to the children, not the people politicians parade in front of you.

In the USA, a father was sued to not wanting to affirm his child's chosen gender, I think the kid was very young, like 5 or something. Father said no, and the mother took him to court and he was forced to shut-up and just affirm it. Look it up and you'll see.

Teach kids to love selves, as they are - no pain of surgery or pill needed.

When I recently got a puppy, my vet said that the latest research said that early spaying and neutering causes problems with bones and joints. Now I'm wondering if people are so different.

Not being A isn’t B. It’s lack of A … being atypical M or F is a huge part of what needs to be accepted by young people. So much social pressure to be typically M or F, … so many perfect ultra feminine girls and super cut boys and “alpha men” on social media…. this is all acted out in the school social arena where kids are brutal and unkind to those who “aren’t conforming to typical social standards”…. autistic kids are especially sensitive to social non conformity anxiety, this is contributing to children especially ASD kids believing bec they aren’t gender typical they must be the opposite gender when all it is is atypical presentations of their actual gender. It’s also a social conformity game and an adopted self assigned disability with protections for those in the “unique category” affording them legal protection under the wing of extreme activism. It’s a mental Health issue with its roots in trauma responses to be being often neurodiverse and / or the victim of childhood trauma.

The dentist did not simply take my word for it. Except it doesn't work that way. In countries that do provide gender affirming care, there are multiple visits to multiple care providers (general practitioner, therapist, child psychologist and social worker before it's determined medical is prescribed. In my country it takes years to get top surgery and double digit appointments to get your first prescription. No below the belt surgeries are performed on children. NOWHERE are children being prescribed drugs and having their genatalia altered because they said one time - "I don't want to be a boy".

There are clinical responses that are looked for and consistent, persistent and insistent behaviors that demonstrate the child isn't "just going through a phase". It's a collective of all the responses and all the results from a group of medical practitioners. Anyone that thinks it's a single visit to a Dr and you walk out with puberty blockers, hormones and a surgery date is uninformed on this matter.

I blame BBC Channel 4 and the Guardian for pushing this insane ideology (raising demand) and smearing those who were critical of it as Toxic. The ratio for this video shows I'm not alone. I hope all three organizations are defunded asap.

as a parent who was lost in the correspondence sent to me telling me and my child that there is no actual support for them and what there is or rather was has now closed down is about right for medieval England, i feel that the delays are to see if your child is going through a phase so as to not address our children becuase that would be easier, I am actually thinking about a career change and to train up so as to help our children in this difficult world, I could write a lot more but my general sensus of it all is I'm p..... off !

I'm gay and just want to remind everyone that there is NO SUCH THING as a gay or trans child. Though statistically rare, there will be some children who MAY grow up to be gay or trans but acting on either should only be done as an adult. I know some people will say "I knew when I was a child" but "knowing" doesn't mean "doing" - kids don't need a "sexual orientation" and they certainly don't need to be medicalized to "affirm" something they feel.

The 2022 USTS , quoting a 2% detransition rate, was not a scientific study by medical institution. It was an anonymous voluntary online survey held within 48 days. It was publicized as “for binary and nonbinary transgender people aged 16 and older residing in the United States”. 1) the design of the study was not to find out the rate of de-transitioning and using statistical method to find the confidence interval. The anonymous participants with no confirmation of identity made the survey results unconvincing in supporting a policy. 2) those who were not active or doubting their choice or loss to follow up may not catch the short time window of survey or even not attempt to answer. So there might be patient selection bias in the design. 3) there was no mention on the duration of follow up after transition. Usually regret rate will increase with increasing duration of follow up 4) There was no subgroup analysis on children undergoing transition. Those undergoing transition in late adulthood due to the long queues should have gone through more thorough consideration and be less likely to regret. The childen’s figures will be likely to be different, which is the most important subjects of interest to the general population now .

Because your facts are meaningless. You want to diagnose a MENTAL problem by looking at biology. That's like diagnosing your car's engine trouble by looking at your dashboard. When feelings cripple a person, they matter a great deal. Since we cannot rewire a person's brain that leaves altering the body. And the regret rate for such treatment is only 2%. That's extremely low.

the nhs is struggling as it is. this just seems like a huge strain on NHS/funds when there is people with actually life threatening illnesses like cancer who are having to wait even longer for treatment/tests. thousands of people do this any it only makes it harder for the nhs to treat emergency responses and people who are legitimately dying. there is priority and people dying are on top and should always be.

My brain fully developed when I reached 28. In my teens I made stupid decisions.

​@@WilliamAhlertI know a girl who used to think she was a dog could you imagine her life if it was encouraged. You can't change your gender it's only cosmetic. Your body is defined by your DNA anything else is just cosmetic or a belief, like a religion.

@@davebull9600 It hasn't been a mental issue since 2018. It was classified as a mental health condition before that. But that was changed. Why are you either living in the past or spreading misinformation?

When it’s girls it’s often due to normal distress associated with puberty. With boys it tends to be based around true disphoria or issues regarding their sexual identity. This makes it far easier to determine whether the boy requires treatment or not
