When I took a cheer prep class when I was younger, our "coaches" were only teenagers, probably about 16. I mentioned that I was having pain in my leg and one of the coaches said to me, "I bet it doesn't actually hurt, I bet you just don't want to do this skill." I left the gym crying that night. I still have trouble with that leg to this day sometimes.

These moms don't understand how fucking scary it actually is to do a back handspring. It is so easy to break your neck when you're trying. When I was learning, it would take me at least twenty minutes to build up the mental strength to jump backwards, possibly breaking my neck. But once I got it once, I wasn't scared any other time.

K I'm a level 2 competitive allstar cheerleader and it's not right what these moms r doing but cheer is very expensive. My mom pays 200-300 a month and a lot of other money for competitions they just don't wanna waste their money if their daughters or sons are not gonna try. But if a girl or boy is really trying yelling at them IS NOT RIGHT💥

My cheer coach is da besttttt. She gives us breaks and she makes sure you can accomplish something in every lesson. I got my half in the second lesson really quick, the first lesson I had was when I couldn't stand up on the half, but now I can. She's also really fun and jokes in a serious way 😂 When I landed on my butt when doing a toe touch she said "If your butt touches the ground I'm gonna kill you gurl" 😂 I hope I never quit cheer.

Winnie Tan she's a bad coach. Good coaches don't let you have breaks and laugh. They push you to you breaking point. When I started cheer I was weak. Now I'm fit and firm

Nope, I take gymnastics and dance and have done it since I was 1 or 2. We get 5 minute breaks. I guess we could agree that our coaches have different personalities. By the way she does push us to go further except that I'm already flexible enough to do all the flyer stunts that are required in my cheer school.

My parents were never this harsh but my coach was close, I quit before levelling up to senior team because of the pressure. I remember she was mad since I was our best back base but now I'm so glad to have quit.

I've done dance cheerleading and tumbling my whole life and that shit is hard. I've fractured my ankle countless times. I now only do competitive dance and tumbling but I do still cheer at my school. My mom never pushed me this hard but my coach was a dick. One of the times I broke my ankle my whole for was almost backwards and he wouldn't let me leave practice. Because he said I was just being LAZY.😐 I said to him " IM BEING LAZY?!?!?!? YOUR THE ONE SITTING HERE IN A CHAIR WATCHING ALL OF US!!!!!! I quit tumbling there after that. I crawled out and called my mom to come get me. He wouldn't help or even get me an ice pack. Some of my friends moms helped me when they saw. But this shit does get intense

Lexi McIlmoil I'm in cheer, hip hop,and tumbling and that shit is hard when the coach doesn't help you or give advice,I quit then I went to another place, the best shit happened to me. When I fell hard my old coach would say get up now or do 10 suicides, my ankle was fractured once and he made me go on with practice then I called my mom,she yell at the coach, slapped him then left. I was laughing so hard (this story was from cheer)

I competed in dance (I'm in college now) my mom was paying so I could have fun and get my mind off of being homesick. I asked to compete she listened and tagged along but she really tried her hardest to avoid mama drama and I'm grateful for that. She made some friends with some great mothers but she avoided the drama side of things. Sure one's mother can be drama free like my mom but in the end it doesn't mean there will be no mama drama or kid drama. One will not be in the drama but it's something that can't be unseen as a dancer in way or another there's no way to avoid witnessing it, just never let that stuff get to you.

They make cheerleading seem like torture.. It's not. I cheer. If you don't work hard and push yourself, you'll never get anywhere. What they don't show is the happiness throughout the team when a stunt hits, or a full out routine is finally put together. The coach isn't always mean. And the coach isn't even mean. She's tough. She has to be. All coaches have to be.

they should make a show about a allstar team that has won worlds ! CEA , F5 , cheer atletics, top gun .. level 5 senior teams . Or even about a high school team and how you have school and cheer and football games . that would be better

When I have kids, I'd rather give them tough love and have them grow up and be tough and not let people walk all over them, than baby my child and have them grow up to be weak and spineless.

I believe that if your kid is into something like this, they need to know at a young age that it's not going to be easy and they need to work what they'll earn

i know, i was quite mad with this, it doesn't give an accurate account at all. I'm senior level 5 and i don't think my coach would EVER say, 'if you fall i'll replace you'!! if the kid can't do that pass the coach should work on it with her and if she's not good enough to be on a team that level they shouldn't have put her in it in the first place!! My mom is encouraging and devoted but hasn't ever pushed me (other that to keep my commitment to the team) plus at allstar i'm no pom pom girl....

Her mum wasn't there when that happened, the clip was just cut that way and right after a coach got her dad to come take care of her, assuming you're talking about the blonde girl because if you mean the red haired woman I agree she's just crazy.

What these Mother's don't understand is that if you weren't cheerleader material growing up the chances of your child becoming a cheerleader is slim to none.
