Bonjour Monsieur Pepin. Please receive my condolences about your lovely Gloria. It’s always harder for the people who are left behind.
So sorry to hear of your wife’s passing, Mr. Pepin.
This is becoming my favorite cooking channel. It's strange how French food isn't more common in the USA, given the fact that France is America's oldest ally. It mainly exists here in ultra-expensive restaurants most people can't afford. That's why I love how this channel breaks down simple, inexpensive French dishes.
I have a crazy job and life. Watching him brings me peace.

Love your cooking! So sorry to hear about your wife. May she Rest In Peace.🙏
It’s so nice to see a chef that doesn’t use tweezer to garnish. Thank you for keeping us happy during your families tough time. My condolences!!!!

Jacques can be fancy if he is preparing fancy meals, the Le Technique book is amazing. But most of us want to learn simple home cooking thru his knowledge & wisdom

Great point! Although Chef Pepin is classically trained, and a master of that school of cooking, the way he cooks for the world to enjoy is the antithesis of "molecular" gastronomy...and we're thankful for it!!
So sorry for the loss of your wife Jaques . May your family and all who love you be a comfort in your time of mourning .
My sincere condolences for loss of his beloved wife. We all send you love!
I have watched you ever since I was a young woman. I enjoyed your videos with Julia also. Please accept my condolences. Your wife was beautiful. This is a love,y meal! Be strong, you are loved and admired and respected by millions. ♥️🙏🕊🙋♀️
Mon cher Chef Pepin, I just learned about your beloved wife's death and I want to extend my deepest condolences to you. Everyone who's followed your work knows about your amazing relationship and I can only imagine the sadness her passing leaves you with. Please know we have you in our hearts.
Jacques, I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for continuing to make these videos and helping the rest of us through this difficult time. Your life has been blessed and our lives have been blessed by you.
Sorry for your loss Mr. Pepin. I wish you a Merry Christmas.
Jacques you’re a joy. You water our seeds of happiness in each one of us every time we watch you cooking. Thank you! Remember that your wife is always in you and happy whenever you are.
This man is the greatest. Love you Jacques!
Gee that is simple enough, one leg and thigh and a small yam and you have dinner for one. I am putting this one on my favorites list, this way I can review make some notes and a shopping list. I have to change my eating habits, this one should get approval from my Doctor. As for your loss, I don't know what to say that I have not already, I lost my only brother back in Feb. So now I am alone, yet I am blessed with a couple of very very good friends. Still working on my omelet skills. Lucky for me I love eggs.
So nice to see him still cooking at his age and enjoying life. Love Jacques.
He makes everything look easy. Love you Jacques. Have been praying for you these days.
All my love is sent to you Jacques.
Love how Chef Pepin takes the simplest ingredients and turns them into something so delectable looking! Thank you Chef!

Agreed! A great cook (not necessarily a "chef") can take humble ingredients, or things they have on hand at the moment, and turn them into something yummy and nourishing to mind and body.
Chef Pépin always one of my favorites! Love his simplicity and flavorful dishes! Thanks Chef!!
Why am I watching it in the middle of the night ^ ^ ? That Juice tho ❤mhhh
This recipe is in an older cookbook of his that I have, and I have loved making it for years. What a treat to see him do it!
It's so amazing how he makes it simple like village cooking not commercialized garbage we see nowadays.
Thank you KQED for featuring Jacques Pépin! He is one of my favourite chefs! Such style & eloquence!! Such a fantastic teacher & master French chef!! A joy just to watch & listen to!! He is the reason I subscribed recently to KQED!! So it is with much sadness that I heard his beautiful wife, Gloria…past away! What a love story they had and lived!! My condolence to Mr. Pépin & his family…May they find love & comfort in each other as I’m sure they will during this sad time… my thoughts & prayers are with them tonight💛🇨🇦
Thank you for this delicious dish master Pepin! You honor your wife's memory by being the same man she loves. God bless her soul and keep you strong!
I love watching CHEF cook. Calming and therapeutic 😌
I believe you are my favorite chef to watch. Thank you!
Bon Appetite Jacques. Praying for peace for you.
I'm a person who has trouble shaking addictions and over eating is one I have left. I would easily polish off this entire platter. It clearly is scrumptious.
Jacques your amazing!!
My WIFE will LOVE this dish. I also took the tip about using frozen pearl onions. Flash-frozen fruits and vegetables have gotten tastier and are easily separated. Pearl onions in a vegetable drawer tend to get forgotten at our house.
I just learned today, Feb 20 that Madam Pepin passed away in December. My condolences to the Pepin family.
Thoughts are with you.
I share his pain of losing a loved one... I recently became a widow this past October... even though it was a short 39 yrs ... I miss him every day. Disease has no timeline....it's the living who bears the brunt of loss & pain. My deepest condolences on losing the love of your life... 😭

Everyday cooking, nothing sophisticated. I love it.
Always cooking with family in mind. Usually for two. Gloria in mind. Or Shorey if she’s there. Or Tetine of course. You are an inspiration Chef. I wish you safe journey through these difficult times. I look forward to hearing about that magnificent boules fête you plan in Gloria’s honor. Santé.
r.i.p. Gloria...Jack always spoke of you as his the light of his life.
We love this man, especially these days! God bless him
A beautiful dish, chef. I love that it's all in one pot cooking. Makes things simple. You are the best, thank you for your channel.
Sending you love and respect, sir.
IN MY VIEW Jacques Pepin's kitchen must smell wonderful when he is cooking. I can't smell it on the internet but I can imagine it closing my eyes savoring the thought.
You are my favoritest chef of all time. I always learn something when I watch you.
A true treasure are you Jaques! Cheers!
Very nice, thank you!
We love you Jacques and are thinking of you during this hard time in your life.
As always, a delicious looking dish. I'm going to use sweet potatoes, which I love, next time I make chicken stew. My sincere condolences to you, your daughter and granddaughter on the loss of your beloved Gloria. 💓
A World Treasure
Lessons in how to cook. And by example lessons in how to live. Lessons in how to be in this world. I've never even met you and I feel I owe you so much. Thank You for your lifetime of sharing and teaching and setting an example. It has enriched my own immeasurably. As so many times before I never would have thought of this meal in a million years and it looks delicious and now I want to make it and eat it.
We love you, chef!
Thank you Chef, from Detroit ....God bless you and your family.
The best cooking show ever
Thank you Jacques.
I'm glad that Jacques Pepin is able to find pearl onions somewhere. He probably grows them in his garden because they're impossible to find in the stores, at least where I live (Calgary, Canada). I'll try to substitute with shallots but I do love those little pearl onions.
Love u my mom passed recently watched togther all the time fond memories u r the greatest♥️
What a lovely dinner
My mum used to make these dishes, simple and straightforward.. But when Jacques presents it, it looks like restaurant quality
Jacques....Love your videos. I'm so sorry for your loss. You have my deepest condolences. Keep doing what you do. She would have wanted that...
Thank you for sharing your recipes with us Jacques. You continue to inspire me to cook the fast, easy way you’ve taught us. I have so many of your cookbooks and am now collecting the DVDs. I don’t watch anyone else. I am sorry about Gloria, much love to you and your family during this sad time.
You are my inspiration in the kitchen! You are an inspiration in how you live life to it’s fullest! We have not forgotten the beautiful Gloria... Strength and Courage to you. God bless.

He's amazing.
This series of shorts has been a welcomed reconnection with Jacques Pepin. Still watching and rewatching all of the prior series but this is a reminder that simple pleasures makes life so much better. Thank you Jacques Pepin...keep them coming.
Thank you Jacques for the wonderful video, we appreciate and love you!
Chicken and Yams very nice Chef.
Bless you, Jaques. All our hearts to you!
Thank you, as always, for teaching so well. My deepest condolences on the loss of your wife. May all your memories bring some comfort.
We love you sir... You remind of my father.
Jacques thank you for your delicious cooking.. my condolences about your wife.. she was a sweet person and may she rip.... My condolences
One of the many things I love about Chef Pepin is, he gives no blanks about his equipment. He stabs pans with the tips of knives, and he just destroyed the heel of that cheapo stamped-steel knife when he cleaved off the tip of that chicken leg. All of the great chefs really use their equipment.

Whenever I need an idea, an inspiration for cooking, I turn to chef Pepin. I hope KZread keeps his contents forever.
Deepest condolences for your most cherished loss of your wife, Gloria.
I like how he’s not opposed to using frozen vegetables. Some of the celebrity chefs scoff at not using everything fresh. But in the real world, after you’ve worked all day, you probably don’t have time to shop for fresh produce, let alone prepare it! And most people only go to the grocery store once a week. He shows us that you can still make great food with the things you regularly buy. 😃

That's something I love abt Jacques: although he's a great, classically-trained chef who's revered by so many, he's so practical and down to earth! He's all about the pleasures of cooking and eating, not snobbery and elitism.
I bet a pinch of cinnamon would be amazing with this
You are and always be my favorite chef !!!
