    The thing that got me about it was, considering that it was Harry who wrote it in the story, it implies that Sarah was the abuser not much attention is given to that kind of thing IRL (edit:don't make what he did right)

  • @-VoDkAsVengeance-

    @-VoDkAsVengeance-

    3 ай бұрын

    @@shemasmcguire3999In my opinion it's a representation of delusion. It's really common for emotionally immature/unstable people and people with attachment issues to jump to blaming people for pulling away when the real reason is their own actions. You don't have to be abusive to be a bad partner. You don't have to be a bad partner for your partner to want to leave you. Some people don't understand that and think they’re entitled to a happily ever after, so when their partner wants to leave, they see their partner as a bad, selfish person who's taking away that happily ever after. Based on the fact that Harry mentions that Sarah didn't seem to want to talk to him outside of work before they got together, it's pretty clear that Sarah was not initially interested in him and he toes the line of being a stalker with how obsessed he is with her.

    I agree with a lot of your theory, but the main difference with mine is that I think ALHENA is the _true_ murderer of Sarah and Harry, who killed Sarah in the woods and left her for Harry to find, only to strike him while he's vulnerable, trying to cover up the murder he has been led to believe he himself committed. ALHENA seems to know a _lot_ about Sarah and Harry, like their love and attempted marriage, secrets hidden on their website like the "Embittered Carrots" secret, and of course the fact that they are even dead rather than simply missing. And even knows things that neither Sarah nor Harry would want exposed, like Harry's very raw and personal feelings poured into his poems, and Sarah not being the saint she seems to literally paint herself as. I think ALHENA was someone, or maybe even _something,_ that already knew them in life, perhaps maybe even _watching them_ during their secret visits to the woods; and became obsessed with them. Obsessions, especially obsessions bordering on the _unhealthy,_ being a major recurring theme in the ChezzKids overarching story. Why ALHENA is obsessed with them isn't entirely known, but seeing as I interprit ALHENA as the mysterious Blue Heart with eyes that keeps showing up, most notably in one of ALHENA's own videos _peering out of the darkness of what appear to be the woods,_ perhaps ALHENA was obsessed with their _genuine and passionate love,_ vicariously living through it With it likely being no coincidence that they died almost immediately after their love died, perhaps ALHENA murdered them so that they could "stay together" and continue to be _lovers in death._

    I also want to add that I think him splashing Sarah was an accident, or at the very least he didn't realize what he was doing A lot of things surrounding Harry suggest he's a very passive and sensitive person, wears his heart on his sleeve, and cares to a faulting degree; the type to shrink away from conflict than do or say something to cause it, something Sarah has been shown to _not_ have any issue with doing. When he calls Sarah, he voices genuine concern, but he's very nervous, timid, speaking barely above a hushed tone, as if scared of raising his voice even slightly at her In his poem "The way we love", all the abusive and unloving things are never coming from him, it's always _"You":_ "love is the way you yell at me", "love is the way you call me weak", which checks out as Sarah's texture letter to her employees was written in a _very_ abusive manner I think when that incident happened with the Boiling Water, Harry was trying to do work, but Sarah came uninvited and they argued. I think things just, for lack of a better term, boiled over. Harry's emotions caught up with him, and he finally snapped, and did the first thing that came into his mind. Splash her in the face with the water he was holding. He might have forgotten it was boiling in his passion, or just did it in reflex without realizing to lash out. And I don't think he realized the gravity of what it was he did until he found her body later.

    Agreed on your ALHENA theory!! I think it was most likely a disgruntled chezzkids dev, or something along those lines, since the workplace atmosphere always seems to be referenced, and we never got a clear answer on Sarah's friend. On that note, I definitely looked at the "using boiling water to grow plants" thing in a more, allegorical sense? ig, I saw it as someone wanting to save the thing they love the most so desperately that it ends up just harming the thing? which fits many points in the series (Chezzkid's whole development, Harry wanting things to work out between him and Sarah, etc.)

    @@geordie4697 it's hype, people say this about everything if it makes them excited. From my own perspective at least, chezzkids is interesting, albeit similar to most other forms of analog horror, its riddled with jumpscares, garbled crunchy audio, and "oough face scary" that are par for the course. There is literally no difference in how it's employed here versus something like Walten Files, Harmony and Horror, or early mandela catalogue. What makes chezzkids fascinating to me at least, and probably why this comment gets thrown around a lot, is that it's got an interesting twist for what form of technology it's using. Most analog horror utilizes vhs tapes, and we're starting to see a resurgence in 2000's flash nostalgia, so the utilization of that feels interesting and unique to most people.

    My theory is that one of the employees was upset at both Sarah and Harrison, murdered them both, and now makes mark paranoid about chezzkids. The word “embittered” is a word used commonly across the whole series. Sarah mentions in the interview that 6-7 people were working on chezzkids. It seems like Sarah didn’t care about her staff very much and someone apart of the team didn’t like that very much. The disgruntled dev took his anger out on the both of them and anyone who tried to discover the truth. The idea of a body being burned isn’t conveyed very well in the series. Burning doesn’t produce bloodshed like we see in the series. The series portrays more the idea of them being both brutally murdered; especially with the fact that Harrison is heard crying a lot and his jaw being ripped off his face seen in one of the videos. The way Harrison is portrayed as a hopping clown could be the way he reacted either when seeing Sarah’s body or possibly being chased by the perpetrator. The alhena channel could be this person taunting/mocking Sarah and all the victims they have claimed. I’ve been thinking about this theory for a while and thought I would share it with you all.

  • @Dr.Oofers

    I had this theory as well, as someone must’ve been fed up with how they were treated. Though the “crunchy” part, i think that could be the sound made when they mutilated the bodies (as the images suggest). Though it’s weird that Sarah is depicted as this “amazing” person on the *archival* website, despite the contrary. Though that makes me curious as to what’s going on with the archival channel having footage that contains the disturbing imagery.

    i think its a kind of symbolic icon, so to speak. the fact that you can literally find that *exact same image* of her face everywhere is meant to give her importance to the viewer and the characters, because why else would she be there? i know that the repeating image troupe is very corny, but in my opinion it holds a very important weight.

    1:48:17 I believe it wasn't accidental, why? Well, remember that in the story of Harry the farmer throwing boiling water to his crops? He did it because he wanted to solve a problem, the problem of his crops rotting, but in this case, Harrison, in an anger attack threw boiling water at Sarah's face. What does this have to do with the story? Simple, the crops represent Harrison's and Sarah's relationship, and Harry (Harrison) threw the boiling water at it since he didn't know what to do (So when Sarah was injuried, the crops died, since it represented the relationship), I believe this stupid problem could've been avoided if Harry just calmed down, but the anger issues got in his way and made him blind. He didn't think twice. (Just a theory)

  • @Mecheres

    @Mecheres

    Жыл бұрын

    Throwing hot water onto crops is a thing people do to get rid of disease in plants; the water kills the bacteria and stops it from spreading to other plants. I think in this sense, it's not literal. Sarah was obviously becoming more erratic and borderline (if not completely) abusive with Harrison. I think the "Harry threw boiling water on the crops" is a metaphor for Harry trying to fix the problem by flat out ending the relationship between him and Sarah, or at least asking for a break and a period of separation. He thought distancing himself would give her time to recover and cope with whatever she had going on, and that afterwards everything would be fine. As it seems, however, they both died immediately after their relationship dissolved. I don't think Harrison is the one who killed Sarah; there are too many loose ends if he did.

  • @Dr.Oofers

    @Dr.Oofers

    @@Mecheres Combining your interpretation and OP’s. Perhaps Sarah was the “disease” that was “rotting” Harrison’s health or life, maybe he ended the relationship but she came back and threatened him or just started up an argument. Perhaps out of anger, fear, surprise, or a mental lapse, threw boiling water onto her (both as a metaphor and literal sense; him getting rid of the “disease” in his life). She most likely ran away, and he went to go find her (not realizing what he just did, perhaps due to the mental lapse). Eventually she succumbs to her injuries and Harrison probably gets lost in the forest and eventually dies (idk if the series had any imagery of Harrison’s body besides it looking hollow).

    Just some theories I formed with what I saw: The repeated use of the phrase "no cheating" across the series leads me to believe Sarah may have cheated on Harry (at least according to Harry) and that could have been an antecedent to his breaking point. He still most likely unintentionally killed Sarah, but he may have also taken his own life out of guilt and shame for escalating the situation too far. Blue hearts are usually associated with feelings of loyalty and commitment, so those may be another callback to the marriage that never happened and Harry's utter infatuation with Sarah, despite what she may have done to him. The descriptions of the other channel seem to be pieces of conversations between the couple, as there are lines that seem to come from both perspectives. Either both Harry and Sarah are effectively a dual ghost haunting the channel, or whatever this other entity is, they sure know a lot about the two...

During the Vietnam War, the CIA began launching a psychological war again the VC so they developed soundtracks of distorted audio, funeral gongs and crying voices. US sound teams would play this audio from speakers mounted to rucksacks or helicopters in the middle of the night. I think a part of the story may be revealing Sarah's abusive nature, as the way people talk/write about her and the messages we see from her show a somewhat narcissistic personality(or otherwise selfish mentality; I'm not versed enough in armchair psych, lol). When going through the poems, especially the one on the nature of love, there were elements that I believe reference an emotionally abusive relationship where Sarah actively put down Harrison and developed a toxic emotional dependency. Perhaps this toxicity is why Harrison's family disapproved of their relationship (within the theory provided)? The message to the other developers likewise shows a "mask-off" moment wherein Sarah gives them conditional affirmation of their work/work ethic. The allegories to Jesus(which I think might be coming from Sarah herself) and how she is described from outsiders' perspectives paint her in a very flattering light, like in the initial interview. But, the people closest to her, like Harrison and the dev team, seem to have a fear of her or otherwise only comment on her behavior indirectly. Also, it is important to note how the color green is connected to Sarah, and with the unanimous answer of green as the archive team's fav color, this may indicate an inherent bias on their end(paranormally influenced or otherwise). If I may interject with a possible alternate view of the characters, I feel like Harrison might not be parallel to Harry, but instead Chester. Since every instance of songs/songwriting in this ARG is connected to Chester and Harrison. Perhaps both are true, with Chester and Lola being the external perspective of Harrison and Sarah, while Harry and Willow are moreso their actual nature/dynamics? This is all extreme speculation on my part. Still, I honestly thought that Harry would be the stand-in for a crazy serial killer that monopolized an argumentative confrontation between Harrison and Sarah, ending in both being killed on different occasions. Maybe even an element of stalking to go with the theme of eyes in the ARG, idk. I tend to go off in my own tangent narratives with such content, so take that with a giant grain of salt(thus, I've never made videos discussing these things, lol)! Plus my brain is small and I'm often confused, so I might have just not clocked important info in this ~2hr long vid. Lmk if I have any errors in lore or grammar, I can have trouble typing so I tend to make mistakes. Hope everyone has a good day, and thanks for reading my thesis on ChezzKids, lol!

    Yup. It's especially horrifying to me, cuz I was stalked by my ex boyfriend, and I'm terrified to think what could have happened to me. He constantly threatened to me, and then himself. Statistically, the single biggest threat to women's safety, is men. Male on female violence is the single most common cause of injury to women. So to me, watching a guy obsess over his gf/ex gf Sarah, knowing he's already her, makes my blood run cold.

    I’m not usually a fan of “it’s all happening in someone’s head” explanations but… I feel like it’s very possible that a lot (possibly all) of the stuff related to Sarah and Harrison might have been made up (as speculation, as lies, or as a product of Reality Issues) by Mark, possibly as a way of trying to deal with his obsession with his unnamed friend who I assume is Maddie. Also, Mark never said that picture was a self-portrait (at least from what you showed in the video). It honestly looks more like an interpretation of bloody!Harrison to me

    i love the vibes this series has.. i grew up with sites like this (starfall, abcmouse, old PBS kids games (does anyone else remember eekoworld?) etc) i can’t help but think about harrison having BPD or some sort of attachment issues, as sarah almost seems to be an FP of his. (FP means ‘favourite person’ in borderline terminology. i have bpd myself.. so this theory isn’t based on harmful stereotypes) and although people with BPD are seen as horrible since they’re in the same category as NPD, they’re more often the ones being abused than the abusers, and i’m talking from experience.. i’ve had horrible ex friends be FPs and even if they told me to off myself, ignored me for months on end, actively said awful things about me, and insulted me. i still stayed. which almost makes me think that him and sarah’s relationship started off as genuinely sweet (for him atleast. i have a hard time believing she wasn’t doing this to get something out of it) and slowly became more and more about sarah wanting absolute control and treating him like absolute shit. both at work, and at home.. but harrison having trouble coming out about all of this, because in the early 2000s, domestic abuse was something that was thought to only happen to women by the majority of people.

    This is an amazing video! The editing is really satisfying and your narration is very easy to understand. Sometimes videos essays this long can get really confusing, especially with many names being brought up all the time, but you made everything so clear without losing the pacing of the ARG. Not only that, but you kept the horror stuff without being insesitive to your viewers and kept the "ambiance" that Chezzkids has. As a child, I used to spend HOURS playing flash games and I really wish more creators would use this genre of horror, as it is way more nostalgic to Gen Z who's very welcoming to new things. Also, thank you for clarifying the creator's intentions. We don't need another urbanspook type of content, where not only the creator is insensitive, but the youtubers also didn't bother talking about certain subjects with a bit more care. I'm really hoping to see more of this greast stuff from you in the future!
