    I believe the 'family' quote is refering to the fact that everyone on the ranch sucumbed to the pathigen and perhaps even were joined together into the monstrosity up against the sunset at the end. THEORY! With episode 00 being an advertisment for the film, what if all that we're watching is just that, shots from the film? What if the reason they couldn't find anything on this pathogen is because it's fictional? That would also explain the CGI being so bad, it's the 90's after all and the reason they couldn't find the movie is because it was locally made and only locally sold (with only a few if any copies sold)

    I think the scariest concept would be that yes, we are alone in the universe… but there used to be more. The humanity is the last civilization, and all around us in the cosmos are the husks and graves of alien civilizations. We are babies born from the dead corpse of the universe, left to fend for ourselves, without anyone else to find except the fragmented memories of what once was others. Earth is the oasis in the desert universe… and whatever happed to the other civilizations to make them all die out will eventually come for us. Like some sort of rapture that we weren’t there to experience. That is the alien “theory” (more like horror concept) that freaks me out the most. Sci-fi always depicts aliens as being a lot like us. Even if they look very different, there are a lot of similarities that aren’t apparent on the surface: culture, intelligence, beliefs, desires. But in a vast universe where we are the only species that has all that? We are truly alone in the void, made to venture down the dark hallway without friends by our side.

    It seems that not only is AZ-001 (or at least the Alpha chunk) and the contagion intelligent, but that it communicates with those it infects, judging by the guy we see in the hazmat suit as he's about to melt begging, "Don't do this to me." Like he was suddenly aware of exactly what was going to happen to him and pleading for it not to. Maybe that's a bit of a stretch, a lot of media shows people begging in their final moments regardless of what's killing them, but I feel like it could have a been a much more general statement like, "Don't kill me!" or "I don't want to die!" The fact that he seemed to be specifically asking the Alpha chunk, "Don't DO THIS to me." makes me feel like he knew what was going to happen because he touched the chunk. Anyway, really glad you touched on this series, I had no idea about it and I really hope the creator keeps working on it. I need to know more!

    The weird thing about rhe Starkill video is that it specifically says that white tailed deer are either immune or minimally infected. However, in Starfield, we see a deer get assimilated from contact with Alpha Chunk or something that split off from it. So the contagion must not be the same thing that melted the HOME agent in HOME or assimilated the people and animals in Starfield.

    Honestly, I wouldn't put a lot of hope into mankind being alive by the end of this series. I can only imagine this will end similar to how I expect Mandela Catalogue will, where the last few moments are us passively watching humanity die off to a malevolent, but uncaring horror, with any attempts to stop it being futile or halted at the last moment. I don't mean to be cynical, it's just horror media and analog horror have taught me that the only outcome tends to be a bad ending. There are exceptions, just not many

    I wonder if the story depicted in the tapes takes place in a different universe from the one the people that found the tapes live in? I’m going to have to say this as a reply to my own comment since I’m on mobile, but if I’m right and the tapes take place in a different world, I wonder if the channel’s world will be at risk? Sure it seems like the tapes’ finders are able to observe another universe’s tragedies from a safe distance, but what if whatever force that destroyed the tapes’ world manages to find its way across as well?

    My theory for the locations where the tapes were recovered is that they were all, at some point, field labs or simply shelters for an as-of-yet unknown character or characters whose story we will end up following. Likely a member or members of HOME who go to these places to investigate the situation, using the equipment from the technical college and vet office to learn more about the threat, then have to flee and hide in the home and the bunker. Maybe they realize at some point that HOME's actions are not as benevolent as they previously thought and break away, forming a new group with the new symbol derived from HOME's that is found on the bunker.

    I was a bit surprised at how clearly certain things are shown, as a lot of analogue horror insists on obscuring most of the actual horror to let the viewer's mind fill it in in the most terrifyingly personal way it can. As a result I feared this would come across as too shallow and obvious. But they've done a great job of keeping other elements obscure and presenting it in a wonderfully chaotic fashion that really leaves you wondering what may or may not be real. Excellent work so far!

    Looks like a neat series, wish the CG was higher quality but independent work obviously lacks the tools and manpower for polish so it really does look good considering. Great coverage, very well organized and engaging! Will say though that I can only hear Summoning Salt's speedrun docs with that music used during the conclusion haha

    This was excellent! and it brings more attention to a criminally underrated analog horror series, so doubly excellent. I’d say your channel is also underrated tho….. it’s sad to see all the most popular series getting all the attention over and over again. my personal favorite Analog horror is Greylock and even tho it’s not as old, it’s still super underrated for how scary it is and its quality so keep bringing light to projects that deserve it! Well Done! 👏

  • @user-xi5tp4pi6c

    @user-xi5tp4pi6c

    10 ай бұрын

    @@WobblesandBeanfrom what I gathered from the videos the ningen are a more evolved species of human and they can shapeshift/ undergo metamorphosis, they live in the arctic and have 3 stages. 1 beeing amoung us. 2 beeing the classic "whale" ningen. 3 beeing the rotting spinal cord and head of the previous stage (basically the apotheosis of the ningen) and they have otherworldly powers. Also the ningen can replace people, merge with objects and living organism like in the 3rd video and they can perform asexual reproduction and finally their origins are found on a cave painting (basically an ancient human who lives on a mountain finds a giant skeleton on the peak, gets bored and finds a whale in the water and gets envious of the whales abilitie to swim, later it shapeshifts into something and reunites with the whale, the whale runs away from fear and gets absorbed later they "wish to go beyond " fly into the sky and die on a peak of a mountain (could be the same mountain) causing a cycle to form. Also while the ningen do unspeakable things to humanity they think their helping.

    Big props for the music choice! Hearing about the HOME organisation described in this horror, I instantly thought of how fitting HOME's music would be, as not only it matches the 80's and 90's electronic music but also the name of the artist being the cherry on top. And what am I hearing? HOME's music! Well done haha

    My favorite part about this entire series is how well connected everything is to the first video, making it feel like an anomaly itself. The price of the video matches the date that AZ-001 made contact, the phone number is the number to contact HOME, and even the abrupt cut off of the tornado has something to do with this.
