Had the same issue happen this morning, 2v battery was low 1.8v, gave it a battery slow charge and car came back on. I did disconnect the battery from the car to let the exam reset itself.

Your lucky it reset... I found out I have a bad hybrid battery

@@micmac2800 make sure to check with the dealer, the hybrid battery is warranted to 100,000 miles everywhere expect CA. CA it is warranted to 150,000 miles. I got my 2011 replaced a few years back with 96,000 miles, one cell was bad and they replaced the entire hybrid battery.

@@peterramos4436 are you in California?... here in South Carolina all the warranties are usually eight years 100,000 miles

Do you have any Volt apps for your phone ? You can test the hv battery yourself. If it's going bad, you can drive it till there's a couple miles left and switch over to hold or mountain mode.

@@ww321 unfortunately I don't. But I do know that the car would not switch over to mountain mode. And it is just dead as a doornail. I have found someone in Jacksonville Florida that will repair just the bad cells. Instead of me going out and buying a brand new battery or a used battery. I will keep everybody up-to-date on how the repair goes.

mine does this when i plug it in to charge the HV battery. all i did was clear the codes with a launch code scanner and good to go. now that means will run on gas but still not charge which is ok with me for now.

Thanks I will try that.. the dealer would not clear the codes for me and they said it was too dangerous and they didn't want to be liable for what would happen afterwards. Unfortunately, my scanner will not clear the codes. Too cheap I guess.lol

I am having the same problem with my 2018 volt. Did you find out what is going on?

Yes I did. After making sure that I had enough coolant. The 12 V battery was new. I found out that one of the cells were dead . In my case. I got a whole new battery for it...there was a guy in Florida that put new batteries in for 3500

Yeah, we have no problems out of the 2015. Right now we are working towards trying to get our once every two year oil change lol.

Sorry to hear that. Was your batteries under warranty?

I had this problem once already and got the battery replaced almost a year ago and it just happened agan. The first time it was a dead cell so im guessing thats happened again, but the battery i have is barely a year old.

No the dealer told me that the hybrid battery was the problem. They gave me the sheet to show me that the cell was bad. I am taking it to Florida this weekend to have a guy down there replace the cell and go over it it good,

I will probably be trying to find a used battery or recondition battery to install myself and get the car running. I will probably make a video of this stay tune.

Deberás darle a la opción clear secured high voltage DTCs, en ambos módulos. Not yet. I did get a call back from the dealer. In the traction battery, high voltage battery is not charging and has problems. So I will be trying to find a recondition traction battery to get the car running again.

My 2016 volt died on a California freeway and would not drive but all the lights working. Had it towed to a closed Dealership. Because all the lights could not be turned off in disconnected the battery. Out of curiosity is reconnected the battery to see what would happen, the car came back to life. Turns out a bad front speed sensor caused the computer to think the car was unsafe to drive. $16 part but Dealer charged $300 to install.

Did you get it fixed?

No, not yet. I am going to take the car down to Jacksonville Florida next weekend. And get one of the guys to repair one of the bad cells on the battery. Stay tune, and I will let everyone know how it works out for me.

@@micmac2800 Which dealership in Jax? I've had half my battery replaced by Hull Chevrolet for 4000$ after I bought the car used for $4000. I've got 199350 miles on her and the electric went to zero, kicked me out of Mountain mode, and will not take a charge. So now it's a brick and had it towed to Coggin Chevrolet to try their Volt tech.

@@billburkett2154 it wasn't at a dealer. It is a guy on Facebook. He has done an awesome job in our car is still going strong with plenty of electric range!.. look up on Facebook marketplace Chevy volt fix.

I had the dealer pull the codes. It's showing a bad cell, however I will try it. If it works I will let everyone know

What a hunk of junk. You say it’s reliable but you’re saying it needs its THIRD battery in 80,000 miles….bruh, that’s a POS

Hey, sometimes things goes bad...batteries will get cheaper and the car will be back on the road before you know it.. some cars need a new tranny or motor .
