Fantastic love to see enthusiastic cars and bikes the old stuff 70s 80s we had the best times feel sorry for the young people today😊

Hard to comment on perfection !
I had a 51 MO van-used to be a bread van here in Aust.-bit underpowered the old sidevalve ! so put an MG 1600 motor and gearbox in it-easy job-no other mods -it was brilliant-went for ages, carried anything and quick !-loved it and miss it !
Wonderful - we had these in Australia when I was a boy. No V8s though!
Evening all, nice V8, glad he kept the original colour looks stunning.
THAT IS A GORGEOUS bit of Kit . The 350 looks like it actually BELONGS there . Fabulous install . Interior to Die for , just so beautiful . Love the White Enamelled Steelies as well . Real Hot-Rod stuff .

You have to be 'a certain age' to remember these cars. I was born in 1960 so I recall seeing plenty of them still knocking about as a child. I prefer this car to the Morris Minor because, at a glance, it looks quite standard. I absolutely love it.

A Proper Wolf in Sheep's Clothing!!! Its great to know that there are top quality custom builders and coach builder in the UK that produce work of this outstanding quality. 👍 Now these are the guys I want to watch on TV doing their stuff on cars and not the shoddy workmanship I've seen being done for a quick turnaround for a TV program. Also I can just imagine the person who thinks I'll be kind and lets this very old Morris Oxford out at a junction to take a closer look at it only to watch as it just vanishes into the distance! and say what the hell was that???? 😳 More of this content please PP. 👍😀👍

Fabulous! My Dad's first new car was a 53 MO in Empire Green. I remember sitting on the front bench seat and being in control of the choke while it warmed up. But this V8 MO is a superb transformation - I could drive it all day. Thanks for sharing it with us
What a monster , brilliant .
Great Street Sleeper! Awesome bit of kit!
Howard my old Mate, What a car! You've managed to retain the Morris character with a hidden beast under the bonnet! Like you, understated and showing its age with grace. What a result to be proud of; well done!

Wow wonderfur car. My father had a 1963 M. Oxford model with a 1622cc engine. Was really amazing car. Later we fitted a 1500 cc Nissan A15 with a little midification . Regards from Mauritius.
I learned to drive in a 1957 series 3 Morris Oxford, the one with fins on the rear wings.... They still make them today in India!

Lovely Morris Oxford with an awesome soundtrack. A neighbour of ours when I was a kid used to give me a lift to school in his, same colour, He nearly always had to crank it, and I had to catch it on the throttle 😂 The only other colour I can remember is black ? Classics + V8 = Awesome motors 👍🇬🇧😎
That is lovely I actually prefer it to the Moggy from last week. Definately the right choice to keep it in the Green spot on

Love the sleeper Oxford what a beast.
Good idea 'my dad had one before I was born 'I'm guessing he would have went nuts in a v8 !❤
A beautifully, understated street rod. I have not seen a tin duster cruising a US Highway I’ve liked as much as this one.

I had the same thoughts as this car owner i was 15 in 1970 ,my old man had one in black it just sat in the garage he paid £25 for it and sold it for £25 in 1968 and carried on riding his pushbike. I thought how nice it looked being that much bigger than the morry 1000, thinking how good it would look to have a V8 engine installed. this has been done so well well done !
I’ve been waiting for this and I have to say WOW what a car Peter.

Always thought a 2 door version would have made a good hotrod, but this is a very interesting little sleeper, and like the host said, a great blend of hotrod and classic. Good job.

I stumbled onto this via the Internet rabbit warren. Originally, I was thinking how I like the Morris Minor convertible, but how you'd be insane to take it out on contemporary US roads and have to go toe-to-toe with aggressive pickup truck drivers and the like. Though I am usually content with speed limits, I thought "Morris Minor + Chevy V8" et voila..... I am not a big fan of restomods, but this car is so well executed in keeping the smart traditional look of a Morris Oxford and doing its best to remain stock, but the Q-Ship has the upgrades needed to be the streetfighter in urban traffic warfare. This is the type of vehicle that firmly demonstrates NEVER underestimate what is next to you at the stoplight, and throw down the gauntlet. You may be unpleasantly humiliated.

Well Howard, I have watched this a few times now. It's an awesome car mate, I just love it. When this covid is finished I'll be over to check it out. 5.7lts in an Oxford, insane! Of course you are much more responsible now? I think if SPE 647 had a V8 in it I don't think we'd be here now.

I knew you'd like it! I think you're right about SPE 647, I remember one snowy day on the way to Guildford when someone coming the other way had to take avoiding action as you overtook someone on, shall we say a slight curve rather than a bend. We went back hours later and saw the tyre marks in the snow on the verge. Let me know when you're heading over!!!

Good point there Roman, at certain speeds (35 - 40) it can set up a bit of droning noise, but above that it's just a nice pleasant roar! :-) I've got a good sound system in there so I can just about cover the engine noise... I SAID I CAN JUST ABOUT COVER THE ENGINE NOISE......oh, never mind......
My second car was a 1953 Morris Oxford I bought in 1960 and had it till I came to England in 1965 and drove it as my daily plus used it to drive all round New Zealand on both Islands but it wasn't as good as you have got that one. You have brought back heaps of memories about it.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! I LOVE IT! Sad fact: An electric motor would make it even faster. This WONDERFUL hot rod is like a magnificent steam train in the age of the TGV. I love my '69 Alfa Romeo, but modern petrol rotting the motor from the inside might eventually compel me to make it electric.
