Chevy Truck Rough Country Lift Install | Part 1 - Vice Grip Garage EP48

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

My old chevy 4x4 service truck needs more ground clearance to help pull old classic and antique cars and trucks from their grave. I turned to Rough Country who sent over an awesome 6" IFS suspension lift for this 1989 Chevrolet K2500 truck. I'll show you how to install these lifts, and eventually, we'll give it a good test. Be sure to subscribe to the whole series!

I put an "RCD" 6" Lift in my 97 Silverado and I only had to cut the front diff mount off then weld a 4" plate back on for strength. That kit was my first, awe 😍. Seemed easy except for the torsion bars. I applied a little heat and then went a swinging my splitting maul like a golf club at the driving range and they had no choice but to exit the control arm. This kit allowed the torsion bars to remain at the stock location and height for an improved ride and handling. It also gave the truck a tighter turning radius, which I really like.

That is so awesome. I had a 1994 Silverado extended cab and I put the same exact six inch lift that you have and are putting on your truck. You will have to modify your Y-pipe if you have the original exhaust on it because the front driveshaft will hit it once you’re done with the lift kit. I started out with the 5.7 and then once I went with the bigger tires I ended up finding a 1994 big block 454 that came out of a 1 ton Dooley that had Throttlebody injection and everything just about plug straight in to the computer and all the wires for the engine and I just shaved a little bit for the fan shroud and I converted it over for the power brakes instead of the vacuum I made it work with the power steering because that’s what was on the Dooley and all the stuff was all ready there. I loved it you sir have an awesome truck. I got rid of my truck about six or seven years ago because I messed up my back when I was younger I fell off the rafters and landed on the concrete floor so then I started working on cars for 20 years and now I’m at the point where I can hardly walk and I’m your age And it sucks whenever I try to do something my back starts hurting so bad I can’t even stand up long enough to make a sandwich and if I do my whole lower back and lags starts stabbing so bad I can’t even see straight, and now all I can do is just sit.But what I like is watching your videos they’re awesome it’s all the same stuff that I like to do I can’t wait to see your truck done that truck is going to be sweet.👍👍👍 I hope that you get it Done before it snows and get some sweet videos from that. 👍👍👍👍

Swapping out my ‘99 3/4ton Suburban front LCA bushings about 8 yrs ago, the passenger side LCA rear (maybe front) bolt was installed the wrong direction. Wouldn’t slide out cuz it was hitting the flange on the TC where the CV joint mates up. Had to drop the TC just to reuse a single bolt! I renamed a few GM engineer that day! Great channel!
