Thank you for making this video! I found a frayed wire rubbing on my front differential (4wd) driveshaft under the drivers side door. I had code P0641, stabillatrak lights, also MAF and Crank Sensor codes. I believe the wire was running to the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor.

This video really helped me. I wasnt able to track down the shorted wire but when i unplugged the TPS sensor plug the p0641 code went away. i couldnt locate the bad wire cuz it was INSIDE the throttle body. I wouldnt have done that without watching this video. Thank you!

Guy had a P0641 , kept cutting out then run ok. Seen your post about the wire harness on left of engine. It quit in my driveway. I checked harness & sure enough the stud wore into a small gray wire. Repaired & all is good. 2007 Chevrolet 1500 2 wd pickup. Thank you!! 9:13

I’m getting p0641 and also a misfire. My oil pressure started to just not work. Would it be safe to say the sensor is bad and that’s what is causing these codes to turn up. It’s a suburban 2005

Most of the time its a shorted 5 volt reference wire that being shorted to ground. Yes, shorted oil pressure sensor can be the cause of the code and oil pressure gauge not working. Try following my steps from the video.

If you unplug the connector from the sensor and P0641 goes away, then your problem is the sensor.

@@kevinhodges3374 To verify if it's a shorted sensor in that circuit or if it's a shorted 5v reference wire. The unplugging method should be done with a capable scanner that gives you the 5v reference data or you can use a volt meter connected to a 5v reference sensor signal for that circuit and watch your display to see if your voltage goes back up to 5v as you unplug each sensor one by one.

So if the short stays after unplugging the sensor than more than likely a wire is the problem.? Thank you

You may have faulty sensor for circuit 2. Try disconnecting the connector to each of the 3 sensor for circuit 2 one by one. Crank position sensor, Throttle position sensor and Accelerator position sensor and see if your code goes away or if your 5V reference comes back to normal.
