Hi Eli, do you recommend going to iridium plugs on a 2015 VW Jetta 2.0L gas sohc.? I was having engine misfire & flashing check engine light sometimes when I was driving and accelerating, so I replaced my spark plugs, spark plug wires and ignition coil as well. Instead of putting in Bosch FR7HE02 which I saw in couple of youtube videos and which are Nickel plugs, I put in NGK ZFR6FIX-11 which are Iridium plugs, Also I replaced the wires with Denso Ignition wire set and Ignition Coil with NGK Ignition Coil. I don't have engine misfire or flashing check engine light anymore but I can hear like a sparking sound after some time when the engine starts. Do you know where I went wrong? Also could you please tell the name & model of the OBD scanner that you used in the video. Thank you

Of course you can't diagnose w/o looking @ a vehicle, but let me ask you this... Any clue what a $500 repair may be if done by a mechanic "on the side" & not thru a brick & mortar shop? I've got s/one wanting to charge me that amount, but won't share what the issue is unless I pay the *$$$* for his diagnostic scan. In o/words, I can pay him for the scan results...he shares what the problem is, & I can choose to have him do the repair, or I could shop around & have s/one else do the job. Not knowing what the problem is, I DO know he's reasonable, & he's good, so that price of a $500 repair I'm sure would be less than any shop, but does knowing that he would charge $500 for the repair give you ANY clue what may be the issue? I've replaced the MAF & the two air filters, but I don't think that has resolved the issue. Both Advance Auto & O'Reilly's scanned & said it was the MAF. The codes (two of them) wer P0174 & P0171, with "Fule system 2/1 lean & mixture is too lean.

It could be many things. You may have a MAF sensor that can be contaminated causing these performance issues. Sometimes, if you have oil pressure problems it can affect your VVT system, such as your variable valve timing solenoid, VTC Actuator and that can cause p0300. Worse case scenario, a head gasket issue can also p0300. If you have ascan tool look at your fuel trims and see what the pcm is doing. Keep me posted.

That valve (or whatever it's called) on the canister has an o-ring and there's also a plastic tab which comes off of the valve (opposite of the angle of the camera) which holds the valve in place with a screw securing the tab of the valve to the canister itself. After inspecting the o-ring to make sure it's not torn or otherwise compromised, fully seat the valve into the canister and make sure that screw is snug against the tab (or little arm which comes off of it) and screwed snugly into the canister.
