@@matthewrobey9806 That was an "en passant" capture, which she pointed out. Under the right circumstances, a pawn can capture another pawn by passing it by, hence "en passant." Totally legal play

@@JohnnyV83 The follow up is so easy to see. If you do a couple puzzles daily, you’ll be able to see checkmate patterns like that. Once every 7-10 checkmates they will include a smothered mate in there

@@RetroDree Please, don't make this look as if everything he did had been intentional. It's a perfectly normal handshake and a perfectly normal acknowledging nod. And I don't think he disliked or disrespected her at any point. It wasn't aggressive trash talk, it was clearly just for fun.

@@pilgrimsprogress3237 I used to think I was very good, elementary, junior high and high school and then realized I was very average at best. It was just because my opponents weren't very good as I was only thinking 2 or 3 moves ahead while these professional level players think way more moves and will actually manipulate you into where they want you to move. I still play recreationally but not at these levels.
That was far from trash talking. That was just good-natured banter between two good players

Impressive way to outsmart someone who tried to initimidate her. By makung the correct moves while responding wisely in her speech.

You could tell that she was upset about him saying he wasn't going to bring his A game by her facial expression, tone, and the fact she mentioned it again mid-way through the game. She clearly really wanted to beat him.

@@elastivjust looked it up - The rule of en passant says that when a pawn moves two squares on one turn, the very next move an adjacent pawn may capture that pawn as if it had only moved one square. The move was invented to prevent players from locking up the chessboard with pawns.

I disagree, being a psychiatric nurse has given me a great read on body language, and him getting up IMMEDIATELY and walking away with his tail between his legs saying "it is what it is", is NOT a good loser... he walked away in shame, meaning he allows his emotions to get the better of him... Signs of a weak/immature character.

I used to play with a grandmaster friend (I suck). He’d say “mate in 7” and point it out, daring all of us to figure a way out. We never did. I even made him play with no queen, it was still a piece of cake for him. Strong chess players are a different breed.

@@jonbayuga3238 You have to really experience it to see the true magnificence. My GM friend even played blindfolded all the time, he still beat us easily. Or we’d play with a chess clock and give him 2 min for the whole game, still no problem. But still, the biggest laughs were when we made him play with no queen. He’d gobble up our pieces, and promote his pawns 6-7 times, seeing how many queens he could get without a checkmate or stalemate, just to mess with us. Another fun thing was watching him checkmate with only a knight and bishop. None of us could do it, but he did it with ease.
She seems so sweet and harmless but she's an absolute shark on the board. I'd be happy with myself if I could even manage a defense against her for as long as he did.

I think it's cool she's hanging with the hustlers. It's such a great scene. Every big city in the world has their hustlers. Hopefully she thinks about going on tour and doing similar vids in El Lay, Frisco, Miami, Chicago, Dallas. Go for it!!!!!
I love how it was full banter but as soon as she put down uer set up that man knew it and his brain felt it, he was all in lock on mode giving his opponent their respect Seeing him go from banter to focus in a split second for an opponent that 1000% deserves it, that was my favourite moment Also nice checkmate!

I not only didn't see it coming, I had to replay it in slow motion to even understand it! A double discovered check and a queen sacrifice to mate with a pair of nights against two rooks and a queen.... Fantastic!
Her joy on checkmate made me happy..she's a happy soul

It's actually a standard checkmating pattern, called smothered mate.
Those last few finishing moves were 🔥
She locked that King DOWN.
