    Nice review Hafiz, here In Indonesia this car sells well, even for the non EV. The fastest 0-100 km/h results here is 6.5 seconds, the figure mentioned by Chery was clearly underclaim

    Please explain? I have a BYD Atto 3 and a great car it is with many nice features and for the money, it is impressive but it's not a Tesla MY and I accept this. On price, Tesla will go head to head with BYD, SAIC and GWM soon with their Model 2 and that will be the smaller SUV to buy I'm sure.

    as always.. best review! lovin it.. surprisingly the dashboard is the same as my Tiggo 8 Pro hehe.. if got the fund, this will be a mix of feeling to own 2 car, deferent in size and but same dashboard... maybe it's like having a wira sedan n aeroback or satria.. hehe

    Thank you Hafriz. Great review. I currently drive an Atto 3 here in Western Australia. I also had a 2023 Tesla MY RWD but in October, it was destroyed in a serious, not at fault accident. I miss my Tesla so much - except for the awful firm suspension! I like the aspect of the proximity detection to unlock the Chery, something the Tesla had too via bluetooth from my phone or Apple Watch. The Atto 3 unlocking procedure via the BYD App is a huge let down for me and as you said, a very dated attempt by BYD to do something simple. Why the PIN is required within the App I have no idea. Anyway, look forward to your next review mate. Thanks again.

    GJ team! 2 questions remained tho Does it have proper under car coverings or are the batteries just stuck under the car with no separation like in most PHEVs? And r the breaks just tricky or dangerously bad? Tysm!

    @paultan Does it have one pedal mode? I test drive only to find it does creep like auto box. Chery should include one pedal mode as an option in the software.

    Quick question, the omoda is considered a b-segment car compared to the c-segment atto 3 right? I believe it compares more with the dolphin? (despite dolphin not being an SUV)

    very good detailed review. you have the eye of a detective. but i'm curious, you mentioned the issue with the brakes. it sounds like a serious drawback if your occupants are at risk of nausea with every trip due to the abrupt braking. i'm in the market for an EV (in indonesia) and was seriously looking at this one but that sounds like a dealbreaker. it would think such a major issue deserved repeating/reemphasizing when you summarized your opinion of the car.

    My first impression this look better than ICE Omoda. The wheels itself look more realistic than the other one. I don’t like red in the wheels plus too much red in the ICE Omoda.

    To me the E5 looks better, has a much more balanced ride and handling package, and a nicer interior. For my money I'd go with the EV.

    Yes, but that only changes the weight. No real difference in feel or feedback. It's still very vague in sport mode.

    The plus minus button on the cluster screen is actually for different volume control than those on the steering wheel. Those in the cluster is to control the volume of the warning system such as turn signal among others. How's the battery warranty of the E5 in Malaysia? As in Indonesia, Chery offers lifetime warranty for the battery and motor for the first 2000 customer. That's a good deal breaker.

    The side volume buttons controlled the main audio volume on this particular car - perhaps it was wrongly configured. For Malaysia we are getting an 8-year/160k km warranty for the battery, with a 1-to-1 replacement if SoH drops below 70%.

    For low speed potholes, the BYD is more comfortable. Highway wavy roads, would be the Chery.

    As a pioneer of using hybrid and phev in malaysia, the cost of battery replacement is worrying to the degree its more expensive to replace the battery and incurring loss to the selling price of the car. I think if a user wanna use a car for more than 8 years, avoid ev. Just get regular ice car. Ev cars are cheaper at first. But replacing the battery, its a whole new story. Paultan should cover the story of battery replacement in ev, phev or hybrid.

    Why would you replace the battery? This is the BYD LFP 'Blade' battery, not some old tech battery as used on early Nissan Leafs or similar. The batteries come with a very long warranty anyway. Please don't make the same mistake as so many others in not buying an EV - with a LFP battery - for fear that the battery will degrade and need to be replaced which is part of the anti EV rhetoric. Just get an EV and enjoy a new way of transportation that will put a smile on your face every time you're behind the wheel!

    As mentioned, seats are comfortable, but the floor is high. Nowhere as spacious as the Atto 3 too. And a single rear AC vent.

    Hi Hafriz.. Nice review!! I've seen on other comment, that u have a byd dolphin personally. Please gimme a lil bit ur view. Here in Indonesia, I already order the BYD dolphin, but a bad news comin, that BYD wont deliver to customer until May or june.. Now i'm considering to change my buying to omoda e5.. Because i already sold my HRV, expecting the dolphin will come in march. Is it worthed? Or should i stick waiting for dolphin?

    Personally, I love the Dolphin, wouldn't change it with any cars even double the price 😂 But, your preference may differ. My take is if you are going to use it mostly in town, traffic jams, short distances, the Dolphin will serve you better. But if you regularly travel on highways, fast or wavy roads, then the Omoda E5 might be better suited

    Yes it does. Works fairly well, but the initial biting point of the brake regen is still difficult to modulate, as mentioned in the video

    The hate on BYD Atto 3 is so bold. You forgot to mention BYD and Tesla have Apps. Saying the back of Omoda is better but then complaints the rear suspension is so high up the battery pack is exposed.. paid review?

    Yes, I missed out the point about the lack of app support, which I do apologise for. But Chery has informed me that they are currently working on an app now. As for the rear suspension, I don't quite get what you are implying? Btw I've personally bought a BYD Dolphin recently, so clearly I don't "hate" the brand 😅

    @@hafrizshah4937 If Chery got an apps then it would be more competitive. A lot of functionality can be applied. Dolphin is indeed better than Atto. It's more worth the money.

    Malaysia is a tropical country,so can EV withstand heavy rain and floods. To me ,EV is not quite suitable for our country. We just cannot blindly follow the west bandwagon. Already hybrid vehicles are putting holes in our pockets as batteries need to be changed at the end of it's life span. Of course we are not opposing change to so called reduced CO2 but the West produced the most CO2 and most them don't have forest anymore. I still cling to petrol/diesel driven vehicles. Happy motoring everyone. Pick your choice wisely.

    Evs are a time bomb.... they can explode anytime.....theres about 7000 batteries in a car, only takes 1 to be defective and cause a thermal runaway.... think 1000 times before buying an ev

    I don't think my weight is relevant in assessing legroom or headroom? As for battery degradation, there is no exact measure for it. But since it's an LFP pack, degradation is slower than other NMC batteries, and it allows users to charge to 100% regularly. Chery also has a 1-to-1 battery swap policy if its state of health drops below 70% within 8 years or 160,000 km

    Maaf ya ka auto skip videonya, jadi ga minat beli, karena ngeliat desain mobil nya geli jelek bgt udah sama kaya wuling yg listrik, Di kasih gratis juga ga mau pak. Nanti malah jadi bulyan temn2 dan tetangga, lebih baik cherry yg sbelum nya

    This clearly shows that Tesla is overpriced. Guess where are some Tesla parts manufactured?. Tesla EV battery is far inferior than BYD
