The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV Is A Right Sized & Priced Electric SUV For The Masses

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

While the electric vehicle space continues to grow exponentially, the price tags of these vehicles have also gotten out of hand. For 2024, #Chevrolet thinks they’ve cracked the formula with the first ever #EquinoxEV. This all-electric big compact SUV will start at just under $35,000 later this year and offers over 300 miles of range. The #ChevroletEquinoxEV should give Tesla a run for its money as it heads to dealerships right now.

2022/2023 Bolt had 200hp, 266 lb.ft of torque and did 0-60 in 6.8s. I got 2023 Bolt EUV premium trim for 32k, which after tax credit resulted in $25k. It has everything, from ventilated front seats to all four heated seats, digital back view mirror, and many other things. It gives me real-world range of around 300 miles in city driving. That is an EV for masses. Hopefully, 2026 Bolt will carry all the good things that they offered in 2023.

You're not supposed to be using the full battery capacity for normal day to day driving. The closer you come to fully charging/discharging the faster the battery degrades over time. So not really 300 miles of real world range.

@@NoName-ml5yk This isn't true at all. You can charge a battery up to 100%. You just don't LEAVE it at 100% for days or hours at a time. You drive it right away. Of course no one drives 300 miles locally in a day, so there's no reason to charge to 100%

The RS is the only trim level worth it though, imo. I'd actually consider one myself in all honesty. What deters me is no android auto/carplay and range and power are too low for my interests. Tech and amenities are favorable and plentiful, and the rear seat is very roomy given the size of the vehicle. It's a good likeable vehicle. This is a nice looking EV/SUV. We are still driving and enjoying our 2017 Chevrolet Bolt. Chevrolet replaced the battery and our range increased to 258-270 miles at a full charge. The zero to 60 time is approximately 6.5 seconds. It has 200hp and it's very spacious and practical for it's size. It will seat five adults comfortably. If you want more tire mileage, you have to have the tires rotated every 7500 miles. The Bolt has been a great little EV for us. It's unfortunate the resale value has dropped dramatically. 7:14

Great review...you really are one of the BEST reviewers! I thought GM said all trims would have the same battery??? Also @1:50 you quoted GM as saying ALL models would have the 85kwh battery. Maybe you mis-spoke? @11:51: Dual Climate zone only comes with the 3 level trims (3LT & 3RS) you do NOT get it with the 2RS trim (according to the "Chevy E-EV configurators tools". There are a LOT of things to love about this car. I think GM Chevy has a winner on their hands. With that said there are few things that I don't like: 1 - To get the Universal Home Remote you have to go with 3LT or 3RS trim....why????? ARGH! 2 - No Heads up display at all? That is an oversight IMO. It should at least be on the 3 Trims and available as an option on other trims. 3 - Ok this is a nit but why the blue trim on the interior? Blue is actually my fav color but if you buy a LT whose exterior is Red but you get blue accent inside???. Weird! They should have used a more neutral color in place of the blue so that it would work with any exterior color...if they wanted to be color coordinated.. I'm jussayin..... 4 - And where is the digital rear view mirror???? There is no option for it on any Trim. That's disappointing. Question: You said the seats are black? But they look grey ~@8:26...perhaps it was just the lighting? Question: Looking at "configurator" for the E-EV and I notice that the 2LT trim doesn't have "LED Tail Lamps" I wonder what those look like vs non-LED Tail Lamps? Question: That Galaxy Grey looks an interesting purple-ish grey color...or was that just the lighting, also?

Kind of expensive still considering that would end up being $600-$635 /month for 72 months considering the awful APR’s rn. I would definitely not say that this is something for the masses. Good review, not a big fan of that color scheme though. Even the Bolt at least had very nice 2 tones colors, I had the gray seats with white stripe down the center and burnt red stitching very sharp. Other than that Chevy is going to sell hundreds of thousands of these . Pricing much closer to what is realistic for most working class. range is excellent . we will see a lot of peopel that drive at te 65-70 mph showing 350 miles . Looks like 400 miles range in town. Get your discount electric rate for charging at night and a lot of people wont be spending more than $20 a month. (600-800 miles a month mostly city) .

I'm disappointed after all this time waiting for the embargo to drop that he's reviewing the FWD. Not blaming him, I'm sure this is what was available. This is nice and I think as long as it turns out to be not have problems like the Blazer did in the beginning it will be popular because of the price. I'm not happy about the lack of Carplay, but if you are leasing for 3 years it might not matter. I'm guessing the Google system fine, I just don't want to be paying a subscription when I already have a phone that does everything I want.

I don't like that the US automakers seem to just be recycling names for EVs. Dedicated EV architecture should stand on its own. Create a real name to separate it from the gas powered versions. Same for Mustang Mach-E.

Just to consider, you know old school auto makers are actually serious about EV's when they start risking their prime / valuable brand names on them, up until now GM has not done this but this is a transition (from ICE to EV's - same for Ford) and they've started switching over - GM is serious now and is also why this is a very good product for the price.

You do need CarPlay because there’s certain features on Apple Maps that you won’t get on Google unless you own a Google device. Like I have my doctors addresses and various addresses. All I have to do is push one button and the navigation start and when I get in my car, it connects to Apple CarPlay. It comes up on the screen and off I go. It vibrates on my Apple Watch when the turn is coming, I don’t know if it will do all that stuff. Everything is integrated into my iPhone with my watch my iPad..etc. I’d want my car to be identical. Not everybody has Apple product so there you go…lol 😂
