Chelsea manager Emma Hayes responds to Joey Barton's comments on women in football

Спорт

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has responded to Joey Barton's comments on women working in men's football.
The former midfielder was heavily criticised for comments he made on social media suggesting that women “shouldn’t be talking with any kind of authority" on the men's game.
Hayes hit back at the comments during her press conference on Friday 8 December, ahead of Chelsea's fixture against Arsenal.
"The realities are male privilege has always been at the centre of football in this country," she said.
"You only have to see scores of women across the internet or in the business - whether that’s coaches, presenters, players - we’re routinely used to dealing with systemic misogyny, bullying and behaviour that has been pretty normal for a large part of the football public.

NO male presenters on the women's football show on BBC is an issue that needs to be addressed.

Look at Spurs v Burnley on ITV last Friday, the female presenter finished the show by complementing Ian Wright on how he was dressed, imagine a male presenter saying that to female guest.

Women are apparently qualified to opine on the mens game because "the rules are the same, and women also play in front of large crowds" So do players from division 2 that we've never heard of. We would wonder wtf they were doing analysing the champions league, but when women do it, it's fine. They've never played or managed at the summit. they've never been in the dressing room, they've never had the media scrutiny. The fact that they have been given a chance is privilege.

Womens game is criticism proof. No one can say anything that is negative, challenging, or critical of it or the players. No one can have an opinion that is outside of the party line that the game is great, the players are great, the future is great. Growing the game and eing role models is great. This flies in the face of the actual product, where we see misplaced passes, lack of control, overrunning the ball, poor first touch, slow play, missed tackles, all escape any level of scrutiny by the pundits. I personally do not like female commentary on football, cricket or rugby. I would prefer to listen to men. I think male & female pundits should stick to their own game, and likewise match officials also. They are different games. Ask the ladies, they will agree. Interesting that the womens game is being touted as inclusive, yet no male match officials at the last womens World Cup ?

There's nothing wrong with educated and knowledgeable women speaking about the men's game. It's insight. if you don't have it, then that's another debate. There's enough of them that do, so what's the problem? They just don't want any female involvement in the men's game

Insight from playing football against other professional males, that would be a no, and that is the point these ladies want to ignore. Besides why shouldn't men be protective of their spaces, particularly in light of the current football related trail taking place in Spain. As for her take on male Privilege, oh do me a favour.

I never understood the appeal of Alex Scott. She is rubbish and is not a TV personality. and as a consequence, no one is watching football focus anymore. So clearly, the viewers agree with Joey Barton.

I dont think that Joeys being any of those things, he just feels that mens football is not that same since women have run riot through it in the presenting terms and trying to put it on the same level as the mens game. Which it isn't.
