  Seriously. Did she look stupid? Yes. But here is the bitter truth: they all look stupid. Some tricks are simply more complex. It’s a glorification of hood culture that makes white elites feel all kind and righteous. The least talented middle school gymnasts would literally rule this so called sport.

  Imagine the emotional toll of being criticized by billions of people. It’s already tough when a few people are against you, but having the whole world against you is unimaginable. I feel deeply for her; she might have genuinely believed she was doing well. It’s heartbreaking that those she considered friends didn’t step in to correct her.

  @@fabianposadas7588 I think you are correct. Her peers and husband did her dirty for sure. What’s harder to imagine is how low the level of awareness must be amongst her community to think she was competitive to begin with and encourage her to compete in a world class competition.

  She literally didn’t. Each host city can choose which non core sports are included in their games and The decision not to include breakdancing in the LA olympics was made before Paris olympics began

  I think the issue is, if you're familiar with breaking you know there's far more talented (and much younger) dancers all over Australia and people feel we shouldn't be sending a 36 year old lecturer to "have a go" at possibly the one and only time breaking will be at the Olympics. I was always more of a krumper than a breaker but I've seen people close up that could easily have done far better than RayGun.

  So, Gunn was not really qualified to compete in the Olympics, correct? The question must be, how did she wind up on the team? Presumably, she had to qualify… Maybe she simply was “off her feed,” i.e. she was having a bad week. Maybe she was injured? There must be some explanation.

  There is no hate and you seem to misconstrue this for people who have pointed out that you are not at the level required to compete as an Olympian. Should you ever endeavour to compete at this level again ensure you are at the level required. By doing what you did you embarrassed your country, your team mates and yourself.   I feel sorry for the more skillful dancers that took the time and travelled to be auditioned but were told they were not good enough. The whole thing stinks to high heaven.
