5 years ago, I was scrolling through recommendations while laying in bed with my new love. We fell in love with this song and listened to it a lot over the years. I remember it blaring on the radio through all those sunsets and late night drives down winding backroads. He passed away 4 weeks ago today, leaving behind our two kids. Take aways: 1. Self acceptance is a daily struggle, but something to continually strive to pursue. 2. Without a doubt, it's a jungle out there. 3. Music, apart from being a time machine, can be a warm embrace. It can act as an aid to help us really feel what we need to feel in any given moment. It allows us to feel less alone through the lyrics or instrumentals that communicate to our souls in just the right way that we need in that moment. This music video was a great piece of art and very profound in meaning (well, from what I interpreted from it). The song itself is also superb - "I'm still halfway to nowhere, I'm still nothing today" - a shared experience for so many. Thank you Chelou.

I first listened to this song back in November 2021 while being mentally stuck for hours not working on my part for a group presentation, and it helped me take a breather while visualizing something that really helped calm be down. I finally un-stuck myself and was able to work again! I still use the same visualization to this day whenever I feel too paralyzed to work. I much appreciate this song and the beautiful animation paired with it. Sappy as it is to say, it really changed my life.

I just love how real her body looks. It’s just really refreshing.

i was a teenager when i heard this song... high asf, still to this day i remember the night after this video finished i was soooo impressed and its just amazing

I just discovered this and I love it. This is exactly what i need in my life right now. If you read this, I hope you are safe. Hope is lofty, but the sky is real.

What i got from the video is that is trying to represent our times self- doubt and loathing. The girl turns into a devil when she looks at her reflection in the mirror, thus reinforcing the idea that she is not happy with her true self. The rest of the video represents her struggles with her identity, and running away indicates that she is trying to escape her negative thoughts. When she approaches the green creature, who envitably rejects her as she is different, the action of putting the green mask on was to try and disguise her true self, to be accepted by societies generalised norms and values. Climbing the tree is a symbol of her trying to climb to this "goal" which in unattainable, as she is not being true to herself. Discovering this video while on shrooms and after smoking some weed, is definitely strange, and the videoclip shows a beautiful moral to the story, learning to accept yourself would always bring you to happiness, and it’s always worth it.

I love this track so much, I'm at a point where I extremely resonate w this sound (the original and the remix) some how whenever I listen to it, I don't feel bad about the crossroad I'm stuck at and instead find some closure in the feeling that eventually I'll find my way ahead.

Chelou means weird/strange in French (basically it's the word 'louche' spelled backwards (we use to spell backwards some of our words...)) Dude you're tryna learn verlan to a french guy... Verlan is used very often by young people (and I am). It doesn't necessarily change the meaning but if you say chelou to a french person to mean the cooking instrument nobody is gonna understand because chelou is basically almost a new word on his own that means weird but the real word is bizarre However if you say "il est louche" to a french person he will understand "he's suspicious"
