It's not just about that. this animation is about the fact that life is essentially meaningless and the only meaning it can have is the meaning we as individuals choose to assign it. therefore assuming the greater society's meaning for life for ourselves will only lead to disappointment, unfulfillment, and depression. society wants you to be an astronaut (or doctor, soldier, engineer, etc.) because it's what's "coolest" or "best" but unless you actually be what you want to be and fulfill the meaning that you assign to life, you'll never be happy. I feel bad for people who are really ambitious for money, career, relevance. no amount of money will give me the feeling of freedom I get when I lie on my back and drink beers on a beach at sunset. ambition will kill you. realize that life is meaningless and that's what makes it beautiful and worth living.

I guess I just want somewhere to share my story. When I was 19 I took shrooms, and it was like I was turned inside out. As a child, I was very extroverted and loved being around people. This song was special. It use to free me from my moments of anger or depression, it was like a spark of hope. After 11 year's, coming up 12 I have returned here to listen to this song on repeat.

7 Years ago I originaly found this song, it's been with me for quite a while and I still come back to it every now and then, It's my personal favourite.

Fun Fact: The first human to reach outer space was Yuri Gagarin, and in space he said the words “Poyekhali!” which translates into “Let's go!”

this song kicked off the best period of my life, about 6 years ago. It brings me immeasurable nostalgia to watch it again

I remember listening to this when i was 4 years old and not understanding a single word of what he was singing, but i was straight up addicted to this instrumental and mainly the artstyle of the animation. 10 years later i came back to listen to this masterpiece, and now that i can speak english this is 100× better than it already was. I rarely comment cause I think its pointless to essentially shout into the void of the internet. I think its a waste of time and energy. But for this video I'll make an exception solely because maybe someone who has been in my shoes or will soon be in them can resonate with the way I felt about this video and the music. I have ADHD and struggle with focusing a lot. I always sought to support my argument that over focusing and dedicating your life to something was a waste of time. This video reinforced that way of thinking which, in my case, impacted me negatively. I used to watch this in high school and always thought the message of the video was to not take life so seriously and don't waste your time chasing one thing because everything could end in an instant. Now as I'm a bit older I see it differently. Now its, 'Do whatever makes you happy'. Whether it requires focus is not important. All that matters is that you chase after something that gives you drive, purpose, or joy. As I'm preparing to separate from the military and start a new chapter in my life, I'm going to continue chasing what I truly love to do. And I hope whoever decided to stop and read my comment has a wonderful day.
