I had the same thing happened to be but worse, in my first (or second? I'm not sure which one) chess tournament, I actually already knew this trick, I didn't think of using it because it seems to obvious and I didn't expect anyone to try it for the same reason, though I was confident that I could prevent it if it did happen, but then my opponent play this mate in 4 exept he did it on a different order, he move the bishop first and he put the queen to f3, not h5, I was completely and utterly speechless when he mated me, I thought he was just developing his queen and bishop, and to add insult to injuries, my opponent proceeded to smile to me and taught me how to mate in 4. imagine how embarrassing it is to know what the scholars mate is and still get mated by it then having your opponent teach it to you thinking you never heard of the trick, though all in all it was quite a fun experience

Move the knight and attack the queen first, just sacrifice your pawn, most times you will be able to take their pawn in a few turns anyway. Keep attacking the queen, and they won't gain development.

Could just put his pawn on g7 and block the queen and ruin the entire thing 😂
