This 1971 SAAB Station Wagon brought back very fond memories of the one I learned to drive on. Memories are an important part of our hobby.

My wife purchased a 95 Saab station wagon in Alaska . We went on our honeymoon with this vehicle. What a great vehicle. I tried my best keeping it maintained. I am not a mechanic., but it was an adventure. We still remember this vehicle as our favorite. The only other vehicle we loved was the 89 Nissan van. They ended up recalling all of them, that is another story.

They were really nice cars !!!! I did minor maintenance on our family's '68 SAAB 95 wagon. It was very easy to work on. Did your van catch on fire or did you sell it back to Nissan before it lit up your life??!!!

I had one of these in fact it was my 3rd car back in the late 1970s. My first two being Saab 94s. Mine was green too but a much lighter colour. I think I'm right in saying that the 94 was the first road going car designed in a wind tunnel but I stand to be corrected on that.

These were interesting cars. I learned to drive in a '68 SAAB wagon. She was red. The end came under my brother's ownership. A fuel line let go ( possibly the brass pipe going into the carb ) and she burned. By the way, I could not find the first use of a wind tunnel in design except the Chrysler Airflow. Thanks for watching, Just Dave!

The guy saying there is no spare wheel probably wont be able to fit it anyway 🤣 Keep looking mister and you might find it 😉

I do not think he is talking about his SAAB. The spare is under the second seat, and sticks out with a vinyl cover over it. Thanks for watching and commenting ThatDudeInOrange. By the way, do you have a SAAB?

Own and drive four of them and one is in the color Y11B, didnt know about the spare wheel but its logical when there is a third seat. After 1975 they lost the third seat. Guessing rules on seatbelts took that feature away.

Doubt its the owner of this SAAB 95 saying this about spare, he if all should know. No, pretty sure its a person in the background. And yes, do have four. Two 95's and two 96's, 1970 and a 1978 of the 95's, 1971 and 1979 of the 96's. Last one is in a rather bright factory color that didnt sell well. So SAAB made the very sought after 1700S model out these bright un-sellable ones. Only for the Swedish market. Three or four reamaning to this Day. The rest probably crashed when rallying. By now you might have worked out I'm living 6-7-8 time zones away. Living about 30 minutes away from where they make a rather famous luxury brand supercar starting with a K and ending with an egg. Koenigsegg. Remember seeing the first one on display when marshalling at a local racetrack. But cant remember what year that was!

We currently own an '04 9-5 ARC. Unfortunately, she is an automatic. I learned to drive on the family, '68 96 wagon. I love the repairability of the design, as well as the dependability. I love Koenigsegg, as well as Christian and his daughter!! They seem so down to earth! Pam with her Saab story! Nice little green wagon, surprised they put a third seat in it. I remember the V4, half a V8. In the 60's when I was in jr and sr high school, the music teacher had a light yellow 2dr that was the 2 cycle and when he started it it smoked and made a loud high pitched noise. In the same building the shop teacher had a Volvo 122 2dr sedan also yellow. Must have been the Swedish car club members in Swarthmore!

The third seat was standard. It was interesting when people sat back there. With the 2 rear most passengers there was a lot of weight at the very tail of the car!! The V4 was not a half a V8, but it was a very compact design. Why no other company used it is an interesting question. Teachers and other " pipe smokers " loved the Swedes! I'm glad you liked my SAAB story!! I knew you would like the little, green wagon!!

@@carshowreporter Pam when I mentioned the V4 was half a V8, I didn't mean that it was actually half of one, just the fact that it was like having half a V8, not literally! Can you imagine two big football players sitting in the rear seat, the front wheels would be off the ground!!!
