I owned a 1969 96 from 1978 thru 1986. It was painted exacly the same blue as this wagon, but on my car, the blue faded, turned matt, and it looked very much like old blue jeans. I had a lot of fun with that car, and curiously, when I sold it, as a student at RISD about to move to NYC for grad school, two students got in a bidding war that raised my intended price above what I had paid for it nine years before! Another funny thing is that, in 1988, my girlfriend And I went for a "grand-tour" of Europe, and the first week in Lisbon we bought a 1967 German Ford Taunus, and when I opened the bonnet, to my amazement, it had the exact same engine as the Saab! It was surreal.

I’d love one (or a 96) in this wonderful condition!

Tks for sharing this impression of the Saab 95! I grew up in this car, also model 1972 - in the Netherlands though. When I still was a kid we went all over Europe with it, including Sweden. Loads of space. But back in the days more maintenance needed than with modern cars now. Also became quite rusty so we had front side plates renewed and all painting redone.

I’ve got a 70’s Ford cl-40 skid steer with the V4 in it. A fuel pump for the Saab is half the price of the same one for the Cl-40. In case anyone cares
