I know it's getting harder for families to stretch their grocery budgets at the moment, but I want to give you some hope that it's still possible to eat healthy, even on a modest budget.
One of the keys is to standardize your meals each week so you know what you're cooking before you head out to the store. You'll find that this will help you avoid spending on unnecessary items and also cut down on waste.
Often, a lot of a families budget gets spent on packaged snacks (often marketed on their packets as a 'healthy option', like Granola bars or similar). In this video, I give you much healthier options for snacks that will cost you less and be much healthier.
It probably won't surprise you that simple meals with a low number of ingredients and few sauces or condiments are the healthiest options for you. They're also quicker and easier to cook while giving your family a much healthier diet for less cost.
I hope these tips help you! Please join the conversation and comment on your favorite low cost foods or meals.

    Thank you! I've tried many different diets and always fell back to bad eating habits. Keto worked great, but was far too restrictive and it felt a bit obsessive. It's nice to hear a bare bones "eat better" plan that's simple and affordable for everyone. Great video!

    Thanks so much for your guidance Anthony this is such a helpful and healthy diet, my kids and I eat sugar filled cereals and I can see by their lack of energy and anger issues that it’s definitely the diet that’s causing it. I’m going to apply your tips to my family ASAP, thank you so much

    Great advice with regards the best types of foods to buy organic and the foods where it doesn’t really make much of a difference such as avocadoes. Really appreciate your tip about eating bananas when they are greener as opposed to ripe with brown dots - I had wondered about this for years and tended to like the very ripe bananas!!! Yes, bulk buying organic foods will really help reduce my food bill - thank you!

    You are awesome & super inspiring! I really didn’t know where to start on my fitness journey. I found your circuit video with kettle bells to speed your metabolism. It’s working great! I’ve Done it 5 days 4x plus some cardio. I’ve lost 8 lbs 🙌 is it safe to do the routine 5x a week 4 sets? Or will it strain anything? I also added 10 sit ups to each sets at the end 👌

    Organic does not guarantee that it doesn’t have pesticides. It’s a label that they can stick on just about anything there is very little regulation for organic foods

    This means that you can feed 4 people with it (a pound = 450 grams thus +/- 100gr pp) meaning 1,5 USD per person. So that’s not too expensive I think.

    Organic produce at my local Walmart costs less than nonorganic. Not sure if it’s because my location, organic isn’t as much of a big deal as a big city or if that’s just normal cost these days.

    If you care about how the chickens are treated, then the quality of the eggs is important, if it’s all about nutrients and flavor then the cheap eggs are pretty much just the same as the expensive ones only negligible difference

    Hey Jeepster, thanks for writing in! Consuming eggs does not have an affect on high blood pressure. If anything, they MAY be able to help reduce your BP, due to their potassium and calcium content. To learn more about eggs, check out this video: pulse.ly/a6z7lcggq7 Best of luck and thanks for watching!

    What happens if you don’t eat lunch? Does that mess up your meal prep? I’m always busy with work and always on the field.

  • @Fitfatherproject

    @Fitfatherproject

    Hey Mesa, thanks for writing in and great question! You certainly don't have to eat lunch if you are not hungry. The key is that you still have to be feeling well, energy is up, sleeping deeply, and probably most importantly, not grazing or snacking throughout the day. If you are meeting these criteria, you can certainly skip until your next meal. Just be sure to keep yourself hydrated! -The FFP Team

    Biggest problem is all the toxins and oxylates in the nuts, grains and greens, the fatty liver and glucose spikes that fructose causes, its really easy people, just by meat and eggs(its cheaper when that's all you have to buy) , fix your gut microbiome with this way of eating and you only have to eat once or twice daily and not be hungry anymore. Carnivore. I just did a 36 hour fast and was not hungry at all through it, will go for longer on my next one.

  • @Fitfatherproject

    @Fitfatherproject

    @joemcgaffey2528 - Thank you for your input. I understand what you're saying here, but carnivore is an extreme way of eating for most people. I know it can go much deeper, but this type of video is to help people understand there are healthier options for the way they currently eat, without changing their diet too much.

    Carnivore can help people with gut problems, but it’s an extreme, unsustainable diet. It blows my mind that anyone thinks this is a healthy way of eating.

    I don’t know why you’d even chime in on affordability when you are so clearly out of touch. $5 for SIX organic tortillas? Seriously? So with five kids, for everyone to eat breakfast, I’d need $5.83 of tortillas per day, or $40/week on tortillas? Alone. With nothing inside. My monthly tortilla bill would be $160. When I could get twenty regular tortillas for a buck 25 at Dollar Tree and bring my tortilla budget to $12 a month. Freaking insane, dude.
