Cheap VS Expensive FPV Drone Batteries - BLIND TEST
Tested something I always wanted to know, if I fly cinematic FPV do these expensive batteries matter... The results are interesting to the say the least haha Also just to be clear ovonics are still my favourite batteries due to price + performance however if you think you need those 100C + batteries think again lol
Now knowing 100C batteries don't make a ton of difference I would get these:

Ovonics are not a premium battery, pretty bad lipos you should try this again with cnhl, and like a tattu or dogcom lipo

Big guns weighing in 🔥 @bubby can you send some tatto and Dogcom packs down under for us to review?
Between all the ones you tested I've never noticed a difference. Then one day I picked up a Rline tattuu 130c battery. And at that moment I realized what a good battery really is. Rline is the real deal. They feel fresh all the way through the pack.

just ran a bunch of cnhl, they don't sag fast at the end of the pack, however just got a new tattu rline 4.0, it sags fast at the end of the pack, like you gotta stop flying right away, not the same as the cnhl ministar which are more forgiving.

@@jamesbond-pr5jl possibly the tattu has less sag during earlier battery use, but I am comparing it to the memory of what cnhl ministar were like; I have used them for months and they are not the same as they were new. I'd have to get a new one of each at the same time which I tried to do but they were sold out of the cheapo ones.
Great video as always!
That's unbelievable how you guys mixed them up, Ill be sticking to my cnhl batteries. LOL. such a good video!

Oh yeah for sure, have a fleet of 32 cnhl batteries ranging from 4s-6s. 650-1500mah. Only 1 died because of a crash. Flight times havent decreased in a noteable way 1.5 years in. I was a bit sceptical at the start because of the price but as long as they don't die before I crash them they are perfect. Only really buy cnhl with 1+1 free now.

Then you should try r-line, you would be amazed to see how it feel to fly without that battery sag. CNHL are good for cruising only.
CNHL are my favourite batteries. Batteries are a consumable item and having lots of them is great. I have three thunder power 1100 mah lunar landers which are also around 60 dollars. Their main selling point is they're way lighter than for example the cnhl 1100 mah's but in reality while they are lighter they also just fly significantly shorter (which makes sense considering energy density of lithium batteries is mostly simmilar across the board). I can't really tell a difference in the air besides the shorter flight time, the quad is a bit more nimble but that's cause it's lighter.

If it's the same amount of power 1100 mah, it should last longer if its lighter. Maybe they're lying about the capacity, or they're shit.

Ovonic have some really good prices on special sometimes. They are also very light. Lighter than cnhl. From my tests the tattu rline are the best. Period. Then comes the cnhl and ovonic tied in second place. With ovonic the quality seems to spread from batch to batch. Some have a high IR and some a good low IR. If a low price is impotant, you get some good batteries from ovonic and cnhl. Tattu is just premium that's 👌 for a higher price
Ah you're in my hood! Good spot to practice hey
Crazy that even the worn out cnhl was up to par, and that's the scenario where you will feel the most difference, old pack vs new pack.

very happy to have saved money and bought 5 CHNL batteries
I mean yeah if you are purely focussing on cinematic video you can totally buy like 80c batteries and have no trouble with it. But freestyle pilots like me pull a ton of amps while pulling out of dives and stuff of that nature. Racers especially need that high c since they are always on the throttle and voltage sag will mean slower and inconsistent laps.
@andyescapes
Жыл бұрын
you still pull out of many dives flying cinematic well atleast I do haha but yeah definitely for the racers
I've bought a bunch of 3-4 year old heavily used batteries for dirt cheap and flown it back to back with brand new ones You can only tell by how soon the voltage sags, the difference is about 1 minute of extra flight time.
well the cnhl batts are very good but if you want ultimate premium quality tattu rline series is the top of the line battery. but for cinematic flying without needing fast maneuvers like racing the difference between 100 and 130c is very minimal
Allegedly dogcom are the very best, top racing pilot MCK uses them, I'd like to try a single one but as long as I can get 2 or 3 CNHL's for the same price I'm taking more batteries lol.
At least what reviews I've seen, I don't think Ovonics counts as a premium battery, its at best comparable to CNHL in quality (so very good budget battery). I would think premium would be something like Tattu or Dogcom.

i’m just going off price out here in australia but still a 130c 1300mah which is significantly lighter than a chnl battery has to be fairly premium haha

Yeah I used to run ovonic and the orange cnhl depending on which I could get cheaper, I preferred the ovonic because they were smaller and lighter(has to do with the protective plates) but then they upped the price of ovonic, now I only get cnhl orange or black again depending on what's a better sale at the time. I do freestyle, pretty average in aggression, no crazy full throttle punch outs all the time... and my quads relatively light at 679g
I've had bad luck with those high c ovonics cells dying super easy. Normal ovonics green and black last longer.
This is hilarious
Unexpected results tbh
Where did you find ovonics for 60$? I got my 1400mah 130c for like 40$
I always thought CNHL were a premium if not a mid tier brand, always heard so good about them. So I was shocked to see that cnhl was the "budget" battery in your test considering Ovonic is a amazon brand haha. Overall very informative video.

CNHL have the coolest label/ aesthetics so they're premium to me 😏 Also I've never managed to puff one even when decomissioning one by throttling all the way to sub 0.5 volts per cell.
Try the china hobby line 1300mah 100c 6s vs the dogcom mck v2 160c, the difference is huge, the ovonics are not known to be the best for fpv xD, good video tho.
im not sure how you can make a decision not knowing how many cycles those batteries have been thru and how hard they were run ? being second hand?

the point is the ovonics were brand new haha
Honestly, because it's new, cheap batteries usually bloat much faster.
CNHL is my fav. CNHL is good.
First off, ive never seen a good ovonics battery.... 1or2 cell batteries do seem to make a difference in price cuz its easy to tell what is good, the 4-6 is harder to tell, higher c will burn thru the mah faster cuz your having fun, i actually found i like the cheaper 2 pack of zeee and goldbat from Amazon the best in 4 and 6s for my bigger more powerful kwads, but the more expensive gnb and tattu batteries for my micro quads
I think you should have got old mate to swap the packs and you fly
