    This is very late but Ill still answer. The 5X responds the same in pitch and roll since the arms are mirrored. The deadcat has no props in view tho. It's a preference, if you cant have props in view just get the deadat. I'm not sure how big the difference even is.

    If you’re brand new and just want to fly for the fun of flying and not to get cool shots get yourself a 1s 3inch. Basically a drone that carry’s a 1 cell battery with 3 inch propellers. The thing will be pretty much bulletproof and you can actually get a ton of performance out of it. If you’re dead set in a 5in drone get a pre built, break it, fix it and repeat until you feel comfortable building your own drone.

    This video came at the perfect time for me, thanks so much Andy. I've been trying to decide between these drones for a few weeks now. I will be going caddx vista with a dji action 2, which I already have. I was still unsure if I would need a deadcat frame if I was mounting a camera on top, especially because the action 2 is even wider than gopros. Ive also seen a review which said that the diatone roma f5 had the gopro mount too far back, so the props still showed up in action cam footage. I am trying to find the cheapest option, but im not sure if i could go for the roma for this reason. Im in australia and i found a mark 5 for 700aud. I could also get maybe a nazgul v2 off of the iflight website. how far could you tilt your gopro before you had props in view?

    I flown them all and the Roma f5 v2 is the winner to me. You can fit any camera unit, it's the lightest and fastest with gemfan hurricane 5149 stock pids and stock esc. The nazgul evoque is next it's nice but tight on room the geprc mark 5 is expensive and mine came with a bad Motor and crashed and killed every chip on it no joke. I agree with this guy 100% except that nazgul makes a deadcat but Roma f5 v2 is a stretch X you don't really see the props

    Total BS. The Mark5 03 was cheaper than a same equipped Nazgul5 six months ago when I got mine, and is still cheaper today. Pretty obvious you are just bitter from your experience. Pretty hard to say it’s not the best if you didn’t fly it much. I also highly doubt you killed every chip on it from one crash. I’ve dumb thumbed mine numerous times racing around an oil refinery. Literally into steel beams 5.5 meters off of the ground at high speed, and fallen to cement. All I’ve broken so far is props and tpu parts.

    Hello I want to get into fpv and I have never flown a drone, I have a 400$ budget and I would like to buy a controller, goggles, and a drone but I don't know where to start or what to get. What drone, goggles and controller should I get, or should I get a specific rtf kit you recommend? I also want decent equipment that I can use for probably a year or two before I would like to upgrade. Also I am looking for a digital option in my budget, if that's not possible then I understand, because fpv can be a pretty pricey hobby but I just want some recommendations on where to start, thank you

  • @andyescapes

    I would just start in the simulator and fly for ages and then ultimately go digital which is exactly what I did. For $400 there are only FPV options where you fly for fun (like tiny whoop sets) if that is what you are looking for. If you want to shoot like cinematic FPV a gopro by itself is practically $400 so not really feasible.

    Roma units do break easily, we have 3 of them. The 5" fly well. The build of the frames is very poor in that the latest one I built the PCD of the motors mount is incorrect as it should be 16x16 and it is 16x14.7 (2 holes drilled incorrectly) so you can only fit 2 screws per motor. Their backup support is non existant they respond but do not offer any help and I would not recommend buying the ROMA. iFlight is a way better option.

    Prop wash is actually influenced by the pitch of the props you put on. Roma F5 frame incredibly light, and yes the price is great. Sideplate of the Evoque series is imo, more a minus than a plus. Maintenance is a pain, basic Nazgul is the best value for money. Mark 5 O3 frame is incredibly well designed, very very easy to maintain. The speedx(rcinpower) 2107 is actually slightly more powerful than the xing2 2207(according to Chris Rosser).

  • @danielnoname8352

    @danielnoname8352

    Жыл бұрын

    I think that Mark 5 is not well designed. Different levels od top plates are causing damage to the battery if it will slide out from the straps. Straps are also not the best ones if it comes to keeping battery in place. Another issue is those arms guards - there is no metal inserts and the motor screws can easily strip them. Also their F7 FC is very weak, I have already broke second one over 1 year of having it and I do not fly bando yet. Only crashes into the trees and grass (not wet).

    I disagree on your points regarding building your own quad. People who buy a prebuilt as their first build make stupid mistakes and then have no idea how to fix them. The most common one as of recent is people updating betaflight then wondering why their quad won't bind and where all their settings went. Build your own first, then buy a BnF. You'll be far better off, more educated, and an overall more appreciative/better pilot.
