Congrats on the lights. I can’t afford them and have no viable use for them anyway. Can we talk walls and roof? RV in your garage and some doors on that box? . I watched the timber frame videos with great interest. Even when you wisely outsourced the exterior plumbing to the septic tank... That stuff matters much more than product comparisons, at least to me. I think the vids out of order bug me more than anything. Good luck, stay warm.

A little tip if I may. Those lights you have there, they are 12 volt or 24 volt DC. Your Battery bank that has solar panels. Yup! That is what I did at my house. My yard lights on my house are 12 Volt Auto LED Lights. They run off my battery bank when I switch them on. I used regular 110volt AC house switches, because the switches are inside my house. The switches are rated for use up to a max voltage 120 volts at Home Depot 10 pack is less than $5. They do not care if it is AC or DC and 12 or 24 volts is way... way... way below their max rating. I have been using them for about 5 years now, here in Florida and they still work as good as day one. When Hurricane Irma came and power was out for over a week, we had lights. I even installed a few inside for 12 volt backup lighting.

Fla-bushcraft Prepper Switches are rated by voltage AND amperage. Make sure you're not exceeding the switch amperage as well.

  • @fla-bushcraftprepper941

I am retired General Contractor assistant. 120 volt 15 amp is at zero risk of being overloaded by a 12 volt LED light. Do the math, and you will see it is way... way... way below the max rating of the switch. The little 49 cent switch is 120 volts 15 amps, some more expensive are rated for up to 288 volts.

I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed with the complete lack of focus on posting to youtube as you appear to be months behind, or that you've done yet another unboxing vid where you spend 34 minutes without a reveal on what the lights are. Learn to summarise. Also, these are LIGHTS, you really should focus on that. You don't compare two cameras by their housing and straps then leave out the part where you actually use them.

When you run that 4X4 backhoe 70 mph across the desert or 40 mph on a mountain or swamp trail or at KOH, THEN I might listen to this dribble. Effective light range for YOUR working area. The fins are on the back side and unless you are backing at speed should not be getting hit. A $100,000 trophy truck capable of 120 mph running the Baja 1000 or Mint 400 requires a much higher quality light. 90% can buy the cheap light plus an onboard air compressor & winch ground anchor & wheel lift & isolated dual battery & SW radio & all the heavy duty weather tight fittings and switches you want. What is the practical decision?

There are so many high priced items on the market, they are twice as good at ten times the cost. Certainly not worth paying so much for a light that doesn't offer video projection, music and artificial intelligence. So you could have purchased 30 of the cheap light bars to light up a whole neighborhood, or just one better quality for a back hoe only. What great street lights these could make. You could have purchased an 11,000 watt generator for what that one light costs. I wish I had your opperating budget.

First thing you have to remember is that the lights on the Back Hoe include conventional lighting the same as a car with Dipped and Main Beam Headlights. Indicators front and back and Rear Tail and Brake lights. These normally have a Max Wattage per bulb. So you need to check the total actual amperage you need from the battery. Do not forget lights are normally powered from the battery to give you a steady beam so you may need to up the Alternator to run with all the lights on?

Now I want to see how you justify the 16 and 36 times cost and rationalize that somehow the light output is 16 or 36 times better... and the components that are in all those lights come from the Same country, so you can not claim some kind of reliability preference. as to build strength...? You are talking lighting here, it is Never going to be 36 times better built.

Baja designs assembles all their lights in house in Vancouver, WA. They are expensive but the build quality is well worth the money. The components used are far superior to the cheap Chinese shit in the lesser lights. The lenses used are far superior and produce a far more usable light pattern. Buy 10 of your cheap ass lights in a year and be happy. Or buy quality shit and be happy too.

The holes on the "moisture shield"" are to hold the wire in an injection mold without crushing it.

Could that Moisture Block simply be a chunk of rubber to block water from running down the cord?

  • @navry01

I guess it is actually through the insulation - block of rubber right on the wires (or on their individual insulations). Once moisture gets between the cords, it gets inside your device through the cable connection.

The smaller LEDs allow that light cell to project further. The physics of a parabolic reflector are such that the closer the light source is to a single point, the tighter the beam, and therefore the further that beam will reach. The two larger LEDs will have a little less tight beam with will provide more spill light around the center beam. The result will be the lobe that you diagrammed at the beginning of the video. The spill from the two larger LEDs will blend with the light from the flood light cells to provide a more even transition from the flood side lobes to the front spot lobe. It's the little touches like this that sometimes make a big difference.

Looks like stainless to me. Is it magnetic? That's usually the easy way to tell. That and gal ridges round some of the the edges.

Slotted mounting brackets tend to be dual-use purposed: Carriage bolt security AND finite lateral adjustability (although in this case I can't really see that. In woodworking applications it could be used for expansion/contraction considerations, but on lite-bars..... Hmmm?). Fantastic un-boxing and product comparison video, Jesse!! Can't wait to see the actual performance ratings.

I love their videos. Who cares if they don't always know what they're doing. That's half the fun. But this time they crossed the line. I couldn't finish knowing there wasn't a demo of the lights. I'm guessing the crazy expensive ones were better.

Maybe the company let them borrow the lights for the demo. Any how when will we see the trailer in the garage? How about the sewer hook up? You would think the snow on the beams would leave water marks on sides of them.

Shilling so hard for Baja. It isn't worth the price point. Auxbeam for example, feels exactly the same in the hand as Rigid and puts out a minimal caring less amount if lumens. Most likely you're not going to half ass it and actually have to run wires properly. Including extending them, so connectors can kick rocks since they are way to big for any hole you're going to have to jam through. If you want best, KC Flex is the top. If you're going to spend that kind of money. Just do yourself the favor. Go flex. Seriously FLEX POGCHAMP

I have been watching since you moved into your trailer and before i start my youtube journey i was hoping for some foresight Thank 's

(what I have seen so far) They will demonetise if you are not politically correct....Some channels have lost out because of hunting, trapping, skinning animals, others because of political views and some just for swear words like shit....I don't think there is a standard and myself I'm not very familiar with the rules...Just what I have seen from some channels.

do they have to wait for the snow to melt so the contractors can get there to finish up the house well at least you'll have $1,000 light to put on the back hoe and I'd have to say Alyssa did quite a great job of editing she only had to cut out 14 hours of commentary about 3 lights good job keep it up I don't know how much more I can watch
